Chapter 54: Pill concoting (2)

’System, you are amazing for real!’ Darius complemented but sitll stayed focused on his process. While he liked to argue with the system, they were both of the same goal, deep down, neither disliked the other or else he wouldn’t be chosen after the system checked his persoanlity traits.

Darius’s left hand continued to spin, heating every nook and cranny of the furnace. The heat required for various parts of the furnace was different–in future, to concoct high-grade alchemical pills would require a furnace with high specifications, such as the level of heat penetration and the level of heat endurance, to name a few of them. A good furnace was something over which any self-respecting alchemist would go to war! And the system provided him with a good furnace that anyone would kill for!

At this moment, he finally realised why the system gave him the furnace and not make him buy one himself. In reality, it would have done so, but given that pills will become one of the main products of the Immortal Pavilion, the system couldn’t risk high failure and bad products, directly giving him a good furnace.

Occasionally, he would throw in one of the medicinal ingredients into the furnace. Sometimes, he would open the lid of the furnace, while at others, he would keep it closed. His practiced movements were carried out at such a fast speed that they would just be a blur in any observer’s eyes.

Any, who had been standing at the side, was already speechless, her eyes wide.

Thank goodness she wasn’t an alchemist and so did not really have much of an understanding of this profession. Otherwise, if she had known that the lowest requirement for an alchemist’s cultivation level was the seventh layer of the True Qi Realm, then she would definitely be even more shocked.

Then again, she was already shocked enough by now. A few more times and she might pass out due to extreme shock.

The higher the temperature of the flames, the more Spritual Energy the alchemist had to use. Very quickly, Darius felt that he was nearing exhaustion, so he quickly tossed a Replinshing Spiritual Pill into his mouth, chewed it up and immediately felt Spiritual Energy enter his body bit by bit, allowing him to continue the process.

Time passed slowly, and Darius continuously took Replinishing Spirtual Pills. After two hours, Darius suddenly gave a loud shout and bit his tongue, fresh blood spilling. Under the amplication of his blood the pills always had a higher rate of success, and this was a method clearly recorded in the inheritance he took or else he wouldn’t do something out of nowhere.

His Spritual Energy suddenly rose up to another level, causing the heat level of the flames to rise up to about six hundred celesius.

"Pill completed!" He suddenly retracted the flames. The final surge of the flames was the finishing touch that increased the effects of the alchemical pill by about five percent.

Unfortunately, the four hundred degree temperature was his limit. He could only injure himself to stimulate his pure blood method if he wanted to release a heat of six hundred degrees.

He lifted the lid of the furnace, and a faint medicinal fragrance mixed with a bit of metalic smell instantly wafted out. Immediatly, Darius waved his hand and several pills numbered seventeen flew into his hand, look at them, a deep frown appeared on his face.

’What step did I do wrong?’ On his hand, only seven out of the seventeen pills succed, while such a succes rate would be celebrated in guilds and families for a first time concot, Darius looked very unpleased by this results.

Unlike those families and guilds, he had an inheritance that ecompassed a vast amount of knowldge, and to make things even worse, these pills would be sold so he couldn’t afford to have such low succes rate of merely 41%.

The amount of money he would have to dish out in order to support his alchemy in the future would be astrominical especially since the herbs and pills recorded in the basic alchemy inheritance were by no means simple.

On the side, Any saw this scene and immediatly grew delighted, but seeing the frown Darius made, her steps halted and didn’t dare move closer,’ Even such a success rate is not enough for him? Is this guy crazy?!’

Any was very confused, a 40% succes rate would be very good and could be considered a genuis in some families, 50% would be considered a rare genuis appearing once everything few decades. As for 60% and above, those are the progidies.

Of course this is taking in the fact that the age and realm of the alchemist plus experience is very new. If he was someone past eighteen, such results would be trash indeed.

’Is he maybe an old monster like brother told me?’ Thinking of what her brother told her, that idea suddenly popped in her mind before she quickly shook her head,’Can’t be, the way he speaks isn’t like it.’ But although she thought that, she felt that such a possiblity was very good given Darius displeasure of his succes rate.

If Any knew that Darius was first time concoting pills and that he didn’t want anything less than a 60% succes rate while being in such age, she wouldn’t mind slapping him to reality.

Darius paced back and forth in the room, compeltly unaware of Any’s existence, his mind was fully occupied in the mistakes he did. Then, he picked up the basic alchemy inheritance in his mind and began to review it.

Immediately, the expression on his face quickly became serious.

While reading the content of the inheritance, Darius would occasionally stop. His face would sometimes show a contemplative or enlightened expression.

He was going through the contents of the inheritance with rapt attention.

Only after two whole hours did Darius finally relaxed his mind and stopped reviewing the content of the inheritance. Despite not having rested for two hours with constant reading, and reviewing, at this moment he was still full of spirit.
