Kaidan Game Train: Abide Rule or Die!
Chapter 2367: Pursued by Dungeon Props
The middle-aged man got startled, and as he truly jumped back, a human head suddenly fell down, trailing a line of blood and rolled to Xu Huo and the others’ feet.
Looking again at that window hole, inside was pitch black, although they couldn’t see anything, all three felt like they were being watched.
"Bang!" The middle-aged man made a quick move to close the window hole, then retreated behind Xu Huo, "What the hell is that thing, hope it doesn’t come out!"
Xu Huo ignored his pretense and instead asked, "You’ve been in the Fish Banquet Building for so long, don’t tell me you don’t know what’s in the hidden space?"
"Just because I’ve been here long, I should know everything?" The middle-aged man righteously retorted, "Fish Banquet’s Pocket Doors are everywhere, how should I know what’s inside!"
"Then why did you pull me in here?" Xu Huo directly exposed him, "Don’t say it was accidental."
This middle-aged man grabbed him twice, and he didn’t dodge either time, which clearly explained the issue.
The middle-aged man rolled his eyes, looking like a dead pig unafraid of boiling water, "I said it was accidental! Who told you to stand there at that moment; if you weren’t standing there, how could I have brought you along? In the end, it’s your own bad luck, how can you blame me? Are you going to blame the toilet if you can’t poop?"
Xu Huo couldn’t respond, the Girl in the painting took the chance to chime in, "Are you saying you’re the toilet?"
The argumentative middle-aged man stopped and looked at her resentfully, "Sister, although you’re beautiful, I’ll still be angry if you insult me. If you want me not to be angry, unless you give me a kiss."
"I’m going to kill him." The Girl in the painting expressed her emotions clearly.
Yet before the two could fight, the window hole that was initially closed suddenly burst open, something like a white thread shot out from inside, wrapping around the middle-aged man’s neck and started dragging him back!
The window hole was only head-sized, how could the middle-aged man fit through? Seeing his shoulders stuck on both sides struggling and screaming, Xu Huo planted a single foot against the wall, grabbed his back with one hand, forcibly pulled him out, while slashing at the white thread!
He hadn’t anticipated the white thread to be so easily severed, so he dragged the middle-aged man two steps back quickly, and the Girl in the painting swiftly closed the window hole, pressing both hands against it. Inside there were a few loud bangs, then silence.
The middle-aged man touched his neck, peeking around, "Gone or still hiding in there?"
No one knew, Xu Huo made eye contact with the Girl in the painting, and as she let go of the window hole, he quickly sprinted forward down the corridor.
"Hey, wait for me!" Seeing them running off, the middle-aged man followed, yet behind him, the white thread pursued again, seeming determined to grab someone and won’t stop until it does.
Even after running quite a distance, there was no end to the corridor, and the windows on the outside wouldn’t open, leaving no place to escape. Xu Huo turned around and said to the people behind him, "I think it needs to kill someone. Maybe you should sacrifice yourself."
The middle-aged man immediately jumped, "Why should it be me? Why don’t you sacrifice yourself!"
"I’m not the one who opened the window," Xu Huo said, "Who told you to have itchy hands!"
The middle-aged man felt no wrong in his actions, "I was paving the way for you! Without me, how could you know the window is so dangerous? You should thank me!"
"Thank you, indeed." Xu Huo abruptly halted, turned around, threw a bottle of oil onto the ground, then casually picked up a mineral and hurled it at the middle-aged man.
As the middle-aged man dodged the mineral, he couldn’t help but slip, leaning forward, though he avoided the speeding white thread, he successfully entered its coverage.
Oddly, the white thread halted mid-way and retracted—it seemed its only target was the middle-aged man.
The middle-aged man cursed under his breath, then threw a prop that wrapped around Xu Huo, using force to pull himself out, and like a kite, he followed closely behind Xu Huo, cheerfully greeting the two others ahead.
The corridor finally reached its end, but ahead was a dead end, more white threads almost filled the entire corridor, Xu Huo could only try with all his might to destroy the window on the outer side, luckily under the props continually attacking, the window finally cracked, the following middle-aged man helped with a kick, the whole person flew right out, "Haha! Heaven has not forsaken me... Help!"
The prop wrapped around his waist didn’t release, so as the middle-aged man cried for help, Xu Huo was pulled, sliding to the window sill, looking down, besides the hanging person, only clouds floating.
This place was identical to Fish Banquet Building’s layout, outside was actually empty!
Not knowing how deep it was below, fearing being trapped in some unknown space once going out, most people would not choose to go out upon seeing this scene, so when the Defensive Barrier opened, Xu Huo pulled the middle-aged man back.
"Brother, you’re a good person, I knew you wouldn’t abandon me!" The middle-aged man landed with a smile, but this smile didn’t last long, because the white threads filling the corridor relentlessy pressed against the Defensive Barrier, causing cracks!
"It shouldn’t be like this, why is it only chasing us? Isn’t there anyone else around here?"
Perhaps luck was on their side, as soon as the middle-aged man finished speaking, the tightly squeezed threads suddenly paused, then retreated like a tide.
The corridor returned to normal.
"Are they really gone now?" The middle-aged man asked uncertainly.
Xu Huo kept his distance from him.
The middle-aged man approached with a grin, "Brother, from today forward, I’ll consider you my brother."
Xu Huo cast a half-smiling glance at him, then turned to the left; because wave-like power fluctuations appeared on the wall, a new corridor formed.
"That must be the dungeon props raised in the Fish Banquet Building." The middle-aged man followed up, babbling, "Don’t underestimate these props, once upon a time it might have been a dungeon boss, the dungeon got dismantled, and was brought here, given a venue, even if it’s not them leading the dungeon, they can still kill."
"So, there are still quite a few of such dungeon props?" Xu Huo said, "Given that, the Pocket Doors you mentioned are actually similar to exterior doors, still connecting to rooms inside the Fish Banquet Building, except the portal to enter, the exit should be the numbered room doors?"
"There are still differences," the middle-aged man gestured with his hand, "Pocket Doors live up to their name, just a tiny spatial portal, besides Pocket Doors, there’s hidden portals and hidden spaces, many inadvertently enter Pocket Doors, but haven’t heard anyone say they went out through exterior room doors, and see, this doesn’t seem like a standalone room, does it."
"Space infinitely extends, don’t you feel this resembles a special space combining multiple dungeon venues more?"
