After Betrayal: Lightning Marriage to Mr. Enigmatic-Chapter 38 Fiancé?
Chapter 38: Chapter 38 Fiancé?
It wasn’t until the morning shift was over that Isabella Weaver saw Harry Hunter again in the office.
He had transformed Royalton overnight, yet his face bore no expression. As always, he remained indifferent, his handsome and perfect features exuding a rugged and noble aura, leaving Isabella slightly entranced as she looked at him.
She hadn’t noticed before how exceptionally handsome he was. Even a simple white shirt looked extraordinary and stylish on him.
His legs were straight and long, the black suit pants perfectly showcasing his leg shape, his physique comparable to a top male model.
Aside from being overly cold and indifferent, it seemed there were no flaws to be found in him.
Harry Hunter noticed Isabella staring at him without blinking and asked flatly, "Only one night and you don’t recognize me?"
"No."
"Then why are you staring at me blankly?"
"Because..."
"Because you’ve finally realized your fiancé is a perfect man, right?"
His tone was so matter-of-fact, as if he were stating a truth, that Isabella immediately broke into laughter: "Mr. Hunter, aren’t you a bit too narcissistic?"
Harry nodded, "So, now you acknowledge I’m your fiancé."
"I didn’t!"
Isabella hurriedly denied it. What was going on? She hadn’t noticed the trap in his words!
Harry stepped forward to take her hand, "Let’s go!"
Isabella tried to withdraw her hand but didn’t succeed. Harry held it particularly tight this time, making her feel uneasy and flustered, "Where are you taking me?"
"To get married."
???
"Why is it always about marriage? We’ve only known each other for a few days, Mr. Hunter, don’t you think it’s too abrupt?"
"I don’t think so."
"I don’t want to get married, okay!"
"But you clearly agreed."
"That was just for playacting with you, wasn’t it to refuse your fiancée?"
"I’m not acting. I’ve already given you the ring. I have just one mom, and my mom only left one ring. Whoever I give the ring to is my daughter-in-law."
Harry spoke pitiably, making Isabella both amused and exasperated. Everyone has just one mom, right?
What do you mean whoever gets the ring is the daughter-in-law?
Is he even being reasonable?
"Don’t accuse me. I’ve already returned the ring to you!"
"No, it’s still in your pocket. If you don’t believe me, check."
"What?!"
Isabella hurriedly checked her pocket and pulled out a familiar diamond ring!
She practically had no words to say!
"When did you put it in my pocket? I don’t want it!"
She shoved the ring back into Harry’s hand, but one of her hands remained firmly held by him, making it impossible to pull back!
"I told you, once I give something, I’ll never take it back. If you don’t want it, just throw it away."
With that, Harry casually tossed the ring.
Isabella was stunned!
He really threw it?!
He had just mentioned having only one mom and how precious this ring was, yet he tossed it just like that?
Isabella felt like she was going crazy. Was this man sent by God to drive her insane? What was she supposed to do, bang her head against the wall?
"Let go. I’m not marrying you, and I won’t be the club owner. I’m going back to school; I’m very tired."
Harry could see the fatigue on her face and the shadows under her eyes, so he let go of her hand, speaking indifferently yet confidently, "Okay, I’ll find you in a few days to get married."
Again?!
She couldn’t help but ask, "Are you in a hurry to get married?"
"Yes."
"Why? You don’t look that old."
