After the 99th Confession , The Cold School Beauty's Personality Collapsed-Chapter 49
Filled with excitement and anticipation, Li Xuan returned to room 404 and shouted, “Qin Luo!”
A deep voice responded from Qin Luo’s bed, “Your father is here. What do you need, my child?”
Usually, Li Xuan would banter back, but he had more pressing matters this time. “Get down here. I have something to discuss with you.”
“Hm?” Qin Luo looked down at him curiously, and Han Yiqun and Wang Chen exchanged surprised glances. They thought, given their close friendship, why would he even use the word “discuss”?
Qin Luo climbed down from the top bunk, sat facing Li Xuan, and after a brief pause, asked, “How much do you need?”
Li Xuan couldn’t help but chuckle, “I’m not here to borrow money.”
“Then what is it? Have your eyes landed on some girl, and you want me to play wingman?”
“Well, there is this one girl I’ve been eyeing lately. She’s a real—uh, no! It’s not that!”
Li Xuan suddenly put on a serious face. “Do you want to perform on stage?”
“Perform on stage?” Qin Luo raised an eyebrow.
Li Xuan nodded. “Yes, next Friday at the anniversary gala. Do you want to go up there and sing? You could perform that song, Smile Enchants the City!”
The others looked surprised at this.
Han Yiqun slapped his knee and said, “Right! How did I not think of that? Old Qin sings that song so well. If he performs at the gala, he’ll make all the fan girls swoon!”
Wang Chen nodded in agreement. “For sure.”
Qin Luo, however, didn’t react much. He just smiled and asked, “What made you think of this?”
Li Xuan replied honestly, “It’s mainly because of that song. I think it’s amazing, and it’s your original. It deserves to be heard by more people. But since you’re so low-key and don’t seem interested in music, I was worried it would just fade away.”
Han Yiqun interjected, “Him? Low-key? Are you sure?”
Wang Chen said, “To be fair, he is pretty low-key. We’ve been together for two years, and did you know before now that he could dunk, or write songs, sing, and play guitar?”

Han Yiqun opened his mouth but didn’t have a comeback, giving Qin Luo a complicated look.
Qin Luo simply waved his hand dismissively. “To be honest, I’m not that interested in music. Tell you what, if you’re worried about the song being buried, you can go up and sing it. I’ll give you the rights.”
Li Xuan was touched but shook his head. “No, it has to be you.”
“Why?”
“Because you wrote this song for Ji Yan.”
Li Xuan adopted a rare, sincere tone. “We’ve all seen your feelings for Ji Yan—three months, ninety-nine confessions. While a lot of people think it’s just a joke, we know how serious you are about it.”
“When I was in high school, I liked a girl too, and I tried to write her a song. I know the feeling—you want to pour all your hopes and dreams for that love into the lyrics and melody.”
“That’s why this song has to be sung by you, and only you. Besides, isn’t it obvious now? Ji Yan has been coming closer to you, even kissing you on the basketball court. It’s all quite clear, isn’t it?”
Qin Luo was momentarily speechless.
It was true that the song was inspired by Ji Yan; the smile she gave him on the basketball court had left a deep impression. All he could think about was “Smile Enchants the City.”
Still, he hadn’t invested as much emotion and effort into it as Li Xuan seemed to believe. He simply sang it on a whim, influenced by the song he’d heard in his system from a parallel world.
So, yes, the song did come to life because of Ji Yan, but it wasn’t exactly the profound dedication Li Xuan imagined.
Yet, he wasn’t going to explain all this. In fact, hearing Li Xuan’s speech stirred up a genuine desire to perform.
He stayed silent, appearing to give it serious thought.
Seeing this, Li Xuan nudged him further. “Don’t you want to sing this song to Ji Yan yourself?”
That seemed to flip a switch in Qin Luo’s mind. He could picture himself on stage, with Ji Yan smiling at him from the audience.
“Yeah, it’s like Han said. It’s your song for Ji Yan. You’ve got to sing it to her,” Wang Chen chimed in.
“Qin Luo, everyone already thinks you two are an item. If you sing it to her, she’ll probably be so touched she’ll cry,” Han Yiqun added.
Finally, Qin Luo laughed. “You’re right, Han. If I wrote it for her, I should sing it to her.”
Han Yiqun beamed with satisfaction.
Li Xuan, on the other hand, asked excitedly, “So, you’re in?”
Qin Luo nodded. “I guess so. But is it that easy to get on stage?”
“Normally, no. The gala is pretty formal, with strict rules for performers and acts. But…” Li Xuan flashed a mysterious smile, just as the door flew open.
In strode Liu Ming, the head of the music department. He marched right up to Qin Luo, took his hand, and, with heartfelt sincerity, said, “Brother, you must join my team!”
Qin Luo almost blurted out, “You know my story…” Instead, he forced an awkward smile and said, “And you are?”
Li Xuan started to introduce them, but Liu Ming beat him to it. “I’m Liu Ming, head of the music department. Li Xuan has already told me about you, and I’ve heard your song. It’s amazing—an anthem of beautiful love!”
“To be honest, I once had a love like that, but I was only given three unkind words in return. But your song has reignited my passion for romance!”
“Come, brother! Let’s go to the music department right now. I can’t wait to hear you sing it again!”
Liu Ming, practically dragging Qin Luo along, was too excited to let him speak, looking like he was rushing off with a damsel in distress.
