An Extra's POV: My Three Fiancees Hate Me-Chapter 85: Their fault
Chapter 85: Their fault
With a hundred thousand points weekly, he would be able to live his best life in the academy and actually get stronger. The second rank only had fifty thousand weekly, but when compared to the first, it didn’t look so good.
"I guess I’ll have to keep this spot, I need the good life," Riven said. He took everything and placed it on his bed before walking into the bathroom and taking his bath.
There was a tub inside, and the water from the tap was heated with magic. He allowed it to warm him and soaked for a few minutes.
When he got out, he got into his uniform. It fit him perfectly. He took a deep breath and then looked at his door.
"Any minute now," he said, and a few seconds later, a knock came at the door. He walked to the door and opened it, and right outside was the wolf boy.
He had already known that the boy was coming, because in the story, the wolf boy was the first to challenge Lance when he was number one.
’I was a little scared that the story would change, but I guess that didn’t happen,’ he thought to himself.
"What do you want?" Riven asked.
"I want to challenge you to a duel, and if I win, I’ll take your crown as the rank one," he said.
"Bro, I don’t even know your name. You don’t just come up to people and tell them, ’let’s duel,’" Riven said.
"Hmph, fine. My name is Jack, and I find it hard to believe that you are strong enough to be the rank one, and so I’ll take it from you," he said.
"Whatever, man. But you can’t really call for a duel now. Despite the fact that we are already students, our classes are yet to start, so until then, no duels can happen," Riven said.
Jack frowned when he heard that. He pointed at Riven. "You are just trying to escape," he said, baring his fangs.
"No, that’s the rules. The academy is on a break now until school begins, so no dueling on academy grounds until then.
It’s not like I’m running away, it’s the rules. Even if you were to fight me here, I would beat you without a single struggle," Riven said.
Jack immediately frowned when he heard that. He clenched his fist in anger. "Let’s watch and see. Just know you can’t run from the duel. I’ll chase you to the depths of hell if you do," Jack said.
"Whatever, bro," Riven said. He walked out and closed his door, registering his hand on the knob with Mana and then walking away.
He made it to the next turn that led down through the boys’ hallway and knocked on Noel’s room.
"Yeah? Who is that?" Noel asked. From the sound of his voice, he was just waking up.
"It’s me. I guess you also decided to sleep in today," Riven said.
The door unlocked. Noel was inside with only his underwear on. "Why wouldn’t I? I needed a good rest." freewebnøvel.coɱ
"Well, whatever. Get dressed, let’s take a walk around the academy and see what this whole place is about," Riven said. He walked to the bed while Noel reluctantly went into the bathroom and took his bath.
When he was done, he got dressed in the uniform, and they both made their way out of the rooms. It seemed barely anyone was up yet, as the first floor was empty—everyone was inside their rooms.

(THE NIGHT BEFORE)
Mathias walked the streets of the capital. He was supposed to return back home, but he decided to spend the night.
He had spent hours thinking about the exam and how he could have won if he had done something slightly different.
His heart ached as he thought about it more—the opportunity to change his entire family—and he let that slip away. He felt like he had damned his life and his entire family.
’If I was only stronger, all this would have never happened. I would have been able to get into the academy.’
He paused and looked at the starry skies. A tear dropped from the side of his eye. He drew in a deep breath and tried to calm down.
"Hey, you." Mathias heard a voice calling to him. He turned to see who it was. He spotted a person in the dark alleyway; only the outline showed, but no light reached in there, so he couldn’t tell who that person was.
"Who are you?" he asked. The person went quiet for a few seconds and then walked out of the darkness—it was the blonde boy that had fought alongside Noel.
Mathias was shocked to see the boy here. What could he be doing here?
"I guess you and I entered the same situation," the blonde boy said. He had a pained glint in his eyes.
"It wasn’t our faults, you know?" he suddenly said.
"What do you mean by that? We are the ones that failed," Mathias said.
"Do you really believe that? Don’t you see what happened? Those two were working together. They worked together and caused both of us to fail.
Don’t tell me you don’t see it. You must have noticed something was wrong—you must have seen that they knew themselves," the blonde boy said, clenching his fist as he spoke.
Mathias stood there in place. He knew that something was off, but he decided that it was just his imagination—that he was only trying to find an excuse.
But now that this boy had said the same thing, then it had to have some truth in it.
"They took our chance away from us to give themselves a chance. They are monsters. They deserve death for what they did.
I decided to come to you because I’m sure you would understand the pain of having your happiness and dreams snatched away by someone selfish.
I want us to join hands and make sure that they pay with their lives for what they did to us."
