Apocalypse: Transmigrated General's Daughter Uses Space to Survive-Chapter 134: Exploring the Space Ring Forest
Chapter 134: Chapter 134: Exploring the Space Ring Forest
"That strict? Then show me what to do so that I can help you." Chu Hao was surprised that picking herbs could be so complicated.
Chu Miao spent the next half hour explaining how to harvest herbs to her brother. Luckily, Chu Hao was a fast learner and within a short time, he had already mastered the herb picking techniques.
Looking at her brother picking herbs so professionally, Chu Miao thought that he would make a good alchemist. He already had one of the most important requirements for alchemists which was spiritual fire.
What’s more, his was a mutated spiritual fire that could increase the success rate of refining pills.
"Do you want to learn how to refine pills?" She decided to ask and see if her brother had any interest. If he did, then she could help him search for pill formulas and books about pill refinement in the library.
Chu Hao wanted to say that he was not a doctor, but when he remembered how his sister had spent half a month researching array formations without resting just so that she could have more ways to protect them, he stopped himself.
He thought that if he could learn and become capable of refining pills, maybe he could reduce the burden on his sister.
Even if he didn’t succeed in the end because from Chu Miao’s explanation, it was obviously not easy for a person to become an alchemist, he would at least gain more understanding of herbs and their uses.
With such knowledge, if they had researchers like the one Ye Xuan had gone to pick, maybe he could help in developing new and more effective drugs suitable for use in the apocalyptic world.
Therefore, he decided to give it a try.
"I will try to learn. I don’t know if I will succeed, but I’ll try my best." Chu Hao finally said.
Chu Miao was overjoyed when she heard that. In fact, she wasn’t sure if her brother would succeed because alchemists needed more than just spiritual fire, but there was no harm in trying.
"Let’s move forward." After their agreement, the two moved forward and soon started to notice a little difference.
"There are some small animals here." Chu Hao pointed out.
Chu Miao had of course noticed the same thing. She could also tell that the rabbits and pheasants running around the forest were not ordinary.
"These are low-level demon beasts. They are not ordinary at all." She pointed out.
"You mean their meat contains spiritual energy?" Chu Hao asked.
"Yes, but not as much as in the meat we ate before. But this is good because the spiritual energy in the meat of these low-level demon beasts is gentle and easy to refine.
Even if we eat their meat, we wouldn’t need to go into seclusion just to refine it." Chu Miao explained.
"Then why don’t we hunt a rabbit or two and have them for dinner tonight? It would be great if we can eat demon beast meat without fearing that eating too much could lead to death." Chu Hao suggested as he got ready to go hunting.
"Okay then. Let’s catch a couple of these animals and take them back." Chu Miao agreed with her brother. She had also missed demonic beast meat.
Before her death in the previous life in ancient times, she didn’t have to worry about eating meat even from some high-level demon beasts because she was almost in the golden core formation stage.
Now that there were animals that could give her the same experience, of course she would work hard to catch them.
As such, the two siblings started running after rabbits and trying to catch them. However, the animals in the forest seemed to understand what would happen if they were caught and the speed at which they escaped could rival a bullet.
After running after a rabbit for five minutes and gaining no advantage, Chu Miao took a sword placed on her waist and used a sword light to cut down a rabbit.
When Chu Hao saw what his sister had done, he followed suit and used the same method to kill a pheasant he was chasing.
They picked the dead animals and put them in the space ring then continued to explore the forest.
Chu Miao stopped in her tracks and looked around and realized that while chasing a rabbit, they had strayed away from the original path they were following.
At that moment, they were standing in front of a cave that didn’t seem to belong to an animal.
There was dust and spider webs at the entrance, which showed that no one had entered the cave in a long time.
"Should we go inside and check it out?" Chu Hao asked when he noticed the cave.
"Sure. Let’s go, but you have to be careful. We don’t know what’s inside the cave. It’s obvious that no one has been here for many years." Chu Miao agreed but also cautioned her brother. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
She was worried that there might be something dangerous inside.
"I know, don’t worry about me and be careful." Chu Hao said as he took the lead to walk into the entrance of the cave.
Chu Miao didn’t stay far behind and immediately followed her brother.
The cave was dark, which forced Chu Hao to take out a flashlight and illuminate the way forward.
There was a narrow path that led deeper into the cave with some black substance that neither of them recognized on the walls.
There was an eerie feeling inside that somehow caused the siblings to be apprehensive.
"Something doesn’t feel right here. But I can’t figure out what it is." Chu Hao said, but even though he thought something was wrong, he had no intention of turning back. He kept walking forward.
"It’s the quietness. It’s as if all the sounds from outside are blocked as soon as you walk into the cave." Chu Miao pointed out what she had discovered.
Only then did Chu Hao realize what was wrong. "Yes, it’s as if there is some high-grade soundproofing material used here. No sound from outside can enter the cave."
