Betrayed by Blood, Claimed by the Alpha-Chapter 12
Chapter 12: Chapter 12
Betrayed by blood~
Cain stood by the fire, his shirt discarded somewhere in the room, the flames casting a shadow on his chiseled chest. His mind was occupied with thoughts, ones he could never get rid of no matter how hard he tried. The heat felt suffocating rather than soothing.
He shut his eyes, exhaling slowly, but then her scent hit him.
Cain stood with his back turned to her; he didn’t need to look to know she was there, he could feel her presence.
Her fingers trailed along his shoulder as she stepped closer. It wasn’t the first time, yet the sensation didn’t sit right tonight. When her hand reached his chest, he grabbed her wrist sharply, spinning her to face him.
"Hi," she said sultrily. Her lips molded in shiny lip gloss. Cain’s eyes flicked over her, taking in the revealing black lingerie that left little to the imagination. It clung to her curves. His gaze lingered, but for some reason, it didn’t ignite the usual heat.
"What are you doing, Kendra?" Cain said, his voice hoarse as his eyes took her in fully. Kendra stepped closer to him, kissing his neck softly, her hands working their way down his chest. "I thought to keep you company. It’s been a very, very long while, Alpha," she murmured as she kissed his neck.
Cain was still, his wolf howling in his head, restless yet he couldn’t give a damn. Not now. It’s truly been a long time. He’s fooled around with Kendra a couple of times. There was never any strings attached. Kendra never expected anything more from him. She knew her place and never questioned it, and so they worked well. He took and took from her while she gave, willingly too.
His wolf stirred restlessly, a low rumble of dissatisfaction echoing in his head. It was unlike anything he’d felt before—restless, feral, almost accusing. He clenched his jaw, forcing himself to stay present, to push past the unease.
Kendra’s lips hovered just above his skin, her breath hot, and when her lips brushed his jaw, he couldn’t hold it any longer. He turned, pressing his lips against hers in a fierce kiss, desperate. His hand gripped her waist tightly, pulling her closer to him. Kendra moaned out loud, her hand reaching for his band, but his wolf stirred again, restless, a growl rumbled at the back of his throat, and he ignored it yet again.
He pulled the strap of the lingerie off, his hand gripping her body, and just as she tried touching him back, he pushed her hand off. Again, she tried. He gripped her wrist, forcefully holding her back. A growl thundered at the back of his throat, louder this time. "Stop," he growled out, his voice cold with a hint of frustration.
Kendra paused, puzzled. "What’s wrong? Did I do something wrong?" She asked; she’s done this a couple of times already and knew exactly what to do. Cain stepped away from her, running his hands through his hair irritably.
Kendra watched as he clenched his jaw, his veins nearly popping out now, almost like he was fighting something inside him. She licked her lips and pulled off the lingerie fully, now standing in front of him naked. "Alpha.." she said softly, stepping closer to him, her finger trailing down his chest once more.
He recoiled.
"I need a drink," he grunted out. He walked towards his bar, his hands shaking slightly as he poured himself a drink.
Kendra stood back, stunned. She was right in front of him, naked and yet, he ignored her.
"What’s wrong? Am I doing something wrong, Alpha? Tell me, I’ll do whatever you want. I’ll be good," she practically purred, her voice like honey.
Cain turned to look at her, he ran his fingers through his hair again. He couldn’t.. her touch made his skin crawl. No matter how hard he tried to get his mind off it, he couldn’t. His wolf was constantly howling in his head, screaming at how he was betraying her. His eyes met hers, and the flicker of disgust she saw made her stomach twist. Kendra forced a smile on her face.
She stepped closer, "Alpha.." she purred, but he held his hand out.
"Leave, Kendra," he ordered.
Kendra’s smile faltered, her feet deeply rooted in the ground. This has never happened. Something was horribly wrong. She stepped forward again, her smile back like it never left.
"I can do whatever it is you want, Alpha. I can-"
"Out," Cain growled at her the second her finger touched his skin. His wolf was practically begging to be let out, wanting to snap her head off for trying to touch him.
Kendra’s face flashed with hurt, and she swallowed hard, forcing a smile on her face. She bent down and gathered her things, wore her robe, she looked back at him one last time before stepping out of the room.
Kendra stood outside the door, her chest heaving with anger. Her hands clenched into fists. She glanced at the now locked door, frustration bubbling inside of her. Cain rejected her. She immediately knew what it was. He couldn’t even bear to look at her; it was almost like the sight of her hurt his eyes. Like her touch disgusted him. She swallowed harshly again, bitterness filling her heart. There could only be one reason for this. Avery Jae. frёewebnoѵel.ƈo๓
That lowlife wasn’t even in the picture and still she’s already making it tough for her. Kendra shook her head, her lips bitten raw by now. She could no longer do these petty things anymore. Avery Jar was fast becoming a thorn in her flesh. One she had to remove immediately or it would grow large.
Kendra heaved heavily, she knew what to do now. Cain wasn’t going to slip away from her fingers, not after everything she’s done.
She’d given him everything—her loyalty, her body, her obedience. And yet, it wasn’t enough. That wretched lowlife, that nobody was slowly warming herself into him without even trying.
She’d made up her mind. If Avery had to disappear, then she will but there’s nothing on earth that would ruin Kendra’s hard work. She was going to make sure of that.
