Malachi would have thought that after a literal earthquake, people would be more than just a little bit shaken up.

After all, it wasn't like people down here experienced earthquakes every day. Naturally, they would need a moment to recover.

That was what Malachi thought, but he was learning that his assumptions had no problem distinguishing themselves from reality.

By the time he got back to the barbecue, there was no evidence of any kind of earthquake having happened at all.

The music was blaring, the food was still serving, and the drinking was still concerning.

But the most shocking thing of all was seeing Morgan caught between the dance floor and his grill- being danced on by one of Bianca's elder aunties.

"Don't be stiff now, Mr. President, I'm throwing it so you better catch it!"

"I-I'm afraid I've got two left feet, but I'll do my best!"

Malachi learned right then that Mogan really did have two left feet he also learned that maybe his appreciation for women with large behinds was not a trait uniquely held by him.

'I knew he was my idol for a reason.' Mal lifted his phone to start recording and show Arias later.

"My babies!"

Sei ran up to Serana and Camille with a relieved, yet flustered look on her face. Joanne, Nadine, and Luna were hot on her trail.

Serana beamed with pride when she saw her mom rushing towards her. "Hey, mommy! I came to-"

"Oh, my god, Cami!" Sei snatched up her younger daughter. "How could you just run off like that without saying anything!? We were so worried about you!"

Camille sniffled as she wiped her eyes. "I'm sorry, mommy... I went home for Luffy."

Sei noted the small axolotl sitting on her younger daughter's head. For some reason, he was also trying rather hard to make himself seem apologetic.

Working together like this, Sei was finding it significantly harder to be mad about her going missing.

"Well, we can... talk about it later." Sei put down Camille.

She then walked over to her oldest daughter and wrapped her arms around her neck. "Hello, my darling. I'm glad to see you're home."

Serana fought the urge to smile. "Surprised you remember me with your cute little munchkin around... Y'know, my cheeks used to be that big too, right?"

Sei just chuckled as she kissed the top of her daughter's head. "Believe me, I remember it very well."

It was hard for Serana to remain obstinate with her mother being all tender and sweet like this. The spirit of a rebellious older sister was leaving her almost as fast as it had come.

"I hope you'll save a hug or two for me." Luna wandered up.

Serana's eyes lit up at the sight of her white-haired stepmother. "Oh, my god, hi! I missed you!"

Malachi almost choked when Sei paused and stared at her daughter with her mouth agape.

He figured that would be the perfect time to quietly excuse himself from whatever calamity was about to unfold.

As he started to sneak off, he felt a small hand grab onto his pant leg.

Looking down, he found his daughter staring up at him with a bit of a needy look.

"What's the matter, munch? You're not gonna go play with your sister and the other kids?"

Camille shook her head as she held out both of her arms. "Stay with you." She insisted.

Malachi's brow crinkled slightly.

His children were pretty independent for the most part. So having Camille suddenly turn into a velcro toddler had taken him more than just a little bit by surprise.

He wondered if Camille was taking after him just a little bit and turning into a stand-offish child.

"...Alright, darlin." Malachi lifted up Camille and put her on top of his shoulders.

"Let's go have some fun, shall we?"

-

"Kill... me.."

Camille shook her head at her father as she poured a bottle of water over her axolotl's skin.

Six whole hours of partying had gone by and Malachi had reached his limit three of them ago.

He had danced with the girls and with his daughters. Played dozens of games of spades and dominoes. But most importantly, he had ate and drink beyond his limit.

Every time that he turned around, somebody else was bringing him a plate of something else to try. It was mostly Morgan and Ali, but by god, it was in no way limited to them. Bianca's uncles hadn't let his cup run dry either. They were all impressed by his ability to drink without limit.

However, he was quickly growing nauseous from the taste. He thought that his blood must've tasted like crown apple at that point.

The old people had started going home for the night, so that meant that the table they had been hogging all day was finally up for grabs.

Now, Malachi sat underneath the shade of a tree with a towel over his eyes. Trying to contend with having eaten beyond his body's limit for the first time since he even got his powers.

"Munch..." He called.

Camille wandered closer.

"If I explode... I want you to know you can have all of my old football jerseys."

Now, Camille was actually hoping that her father bit the dust.

But she couldn't exactly say that without seeming insensitive, so she gave him a pat on the hand instead.

"Seems like you two are doing about the same as this one."

Malachi removed the towel from his face and looked up.

Joanne was approaching with Bianca in her arms in a princess carry. The young woman was groaning loud enough to wake the dead.

"Fried fish..?" Malachi guessed.

"Fried fish...!" Bianca whined.

Joanne fought the urge to laugh at their combined misery. "No one told the two of you to eat so much. Now look at what you've done to yourselves."

""Ugh....."" The duo groaned in unison.

This time, Joanne did release a small snicker as she placed Bianca in Malachi's lap.

"You know, a few of the younger kids in there were talking about an after-party. Should I tell them we-"

""Nooooo!"" Malachi and Bianca objected by slapping Joanne on the butt in unison, making he cheeks turn red.

"I don't want to see anything but my sofa... and a blanket... and a playlist of RDC YouTube videos..." Bianca sighed.

"Preach." Mal exchanged a small fist bump with his equally worn-down fiancee.

Maybe it was the fact that this was the first time in a few hours that Malachi had actually gotten to sit alone with Bianca, but he was finally remembering the beginnings of their conversation from earlier.

Now that she was right here, he felt that it was the best opportunity to try and tell her.

"Hey, B."

"Hm..?" She responded sleepily.

"There's umm… something I want to talk to you abou-"

"We need to go." Joanne suddenly said.

Malachi hadn't noticed, but at some point, she had picked up his phone off the table. Judging by her face, something else appeared to be wrong.

However, it was just the opposite.

When Joanne turned the phone around for him to see, he practically flung himself and Bianca out of the chair.
