Chapter 195: Chapter 195: Apology

That you did it on purpose. I believed her. I never even thought to question it. But she lied."

Aurora’s eyes narrowed slightly. "And you only figured this out now?"

"I didn’t want to believe you were innocent," Mandy admitted, shamefaced.

"Because it made everything easier. Made it easier to hate you. To blame you. But after what happened—after what my mom did—I couldn’t ignore it anymore."

She looked up, finally meeting Aurora’s gaze.

"You were never at fault. Caroline framed you. You didn’t do anything wrong. I’m sorry. I really am."

For a moment, Aurora didn’t respond. Then she took a breath and spoke.

"It’s not enough."

Mandy flinched.

"I am not the type of person who forgets everything once a person says sorry," Auror said with a cold expression.

Yes, she had taken her revenge against but it didn’t mean she forgot how Mandy blindly and stupidly believed everything Caroline had said.

She had tortured Aurora for no reason, and that was enough to make Aurora have a bad impression of Mandy.

"So if there is nothing else. I will leave. Oh! And don’t show me your face again, if you truly feel sorry." Aurora said and sauntered away, leaving a pale-faced Mandy.

Aurora gave a small nod, and then turned to walk back toward her friends. As she moved, her steps steady, Spencer and Mia flanked her once more.

Mia looked at her questioningly. "You okay?"

Aurora nodded. "Yeah."

"What did she want?" Spencer asked.

"To admit the truth," Aurora said simply. "And to apologize."

Spencer’s eyes flicked toward Mandy’s retreating figure. "Too little, too late."

Aurora didn’t disagree.

"Come on. I will drop you both." Spencer said, and Mia and Aurora nodded.

First, he dropped Mia and then Aurora before leaving. Aurora smiled at him and said,

"If your rotten peach blossom attacks me again, I will make sure that she lands in jail."

Spencer smiled,

"Don’t worry. I will deal with her. Not because I am afraid that you will do what you, but because I can’t bear to see your suffer."

Aurora smiled and left.

Once she left, the expression on Spencer’s face changed.

His jaw was tight as he drove, one hand gripping the wheel, the other checking his phone screen lit up with the information he wanted.

His fingers tapped the steering wheel, the cold rage beneath his calm expression simmering to a boil.

When he arrived at Aiden’s estate, the large iron gates opened at the recognition of his license plate.

The maids in the foyer greeted him cautiously, already sensing the storm in his expression.

One maid stepped forward and said politely, "Master Spencer, Master Aiden is currently—"

"Having a makeout session with Diana?" Spencer interrupted, his voice smooth but laced with venom.

"Yeah, I know."

The maids froze. The air turned brittle.

Spencer gave them a crooked smile, cold and sharp. "You should step aside unless you want to get flattened."

They didn’t argue. They stepped aside like curtains being drawn back before a storm.

He stormed up the staircase, each step echoing loudly in the vast mansion.

The corridor outside Aiden’s room was quiet, eerily so.

Spencer didn’t bother knocking. He pushed the door open with a forceful shove.

Inside, the curtains were drawn, and clothes were strewn across the floor.

Aiden and Diana were tangled together on the plush bed, lost in each other.

Aiden’s lips were trailing down Diana’s neck when she murmured with a pout,

"Ugh, I’m so frustrated... I just want to kill Aurora sometimes."

Aiden didn’t stop, just grinned lazily against her skin.

"Then maybe I’ll have to teach her a lesson for you, hmm?"

Diana gave a dramatic sigh.

"I just don’t get it. Spencer was supposed to be mine. My fiancé! And now he’s going around loving her? After everything I did for him? He betrayed me. I hate him."

"Did I?" came a calm voice from the door.

The two froze.

Aiden sat bolt upright while Diana gasped and scrambled to pull the sheets around her.

Standing in the doorway was Spencer, one brow arched, phone in hand, the camera still recording.

"What the hell?!" Diana shrieked, clutching the sheet to her chest. "What are you doing here?!"

Spencer took a step into the room, still holding the phone steady.

"Just recording the truth. The real Diana. The one who calls me her ’betrayer’ while moaning Aiden’s name a second later. It’s impressive how quickly you can switch roles."

Aiden’s face turned red, either from embarrassment or rage. He stood, grabbing a robe and growling,

"Spencer, this is low, even for you."

"Low?" Spencer repeated with a humorless chuckle.

"You’re screwing your best friend’s fake fiancée, and I’m the one stooping low?"

Diana’s voice trembled with fury. "You had no right to record this! This is illegal—"

"Oh, don’t worry," Spencer said, tilting his head.

"I’m not going to post it. I’m just going to keep it. As a little reminder. For both of you. Just in case you ever try to play innocent again."

Diana scrambled to her feet, now half-dressed, her hair disheveled.

"You’re just doing this because you’re obsessed with that girl! With Aurora!"

"Exactly," Spencer replied, his eyes turning to ice.

"And that girl? She’s a thousand times better than you. She doesn’t play games. She doesn’t lie. And most importantly—she doesn’t stab people in the back while pretending to be a victim."

Diana’s mouth opened and closed like a fish. "I... I loved you—"

"No," Spencer interrupted.

"You loved the idea of owning me. Of being the girl next to the star. That’s not love. That’s possession."

He turned his gaze to Aiden. "And you? You could’ve had loyalty. A brotherhood. But you threw that away for cheap thrills."

Aiden scoffed. "Spencer, don’t act like you’re perfect. You were never serious about her. You’re just using Aurora to feel important."

Spencer’s smile vanished. "The only person who used anyone here is you. And Diana."

The silence that followed was thick.

Spencer tucked his phone into his pocket.
