Born Into Villain's Family: I Have a 200\% Rebate System-Chapter 47: Balance
Chapter 47: Chapter 47: Balance
Aurora blinked before shaking her head,
"If you truly wanted to help me, why would you ask for 3 years? Can’t you just cure me? Maybe you are a demon..."
Toward the end, her voice turned into a whisper.
"I am not a demon Aurora. I can’t cure you for nothing. This world has an equilibrium. A balance you can say. You can’t get anything for free.
If you follow the normal procedure, it will take you 2 years to recover. 2 years. You will lose your beautiful hair, your beauty, and even your will to live.
However, if you give away 3 years of your life, not only will you be cured, but your beauty will remain unchanged too.
Though an extra year of your life will be wasted, it is what you will have to pay to maintain the balance." The voice explained.
Aurora frowned, her mind racing. The voice’s words made sense in a strange way, but she still wasn’t sure if she could trust it.
"So... you’re saying I either suffer for two years, lose everything and maybe still not make it... or I give up three years and wake up completely fine?" she asked slowly.
"Yes," the voice answered, smooth and calm. "That is the choice you must make."
Aurora hesitated.
"Three years is a long time... I’ll miss everything. What if something happens while I’m asleep? What if I wake up and my life is ruined?"
The mist around her swirled gently. "That is the risk. But if you choose the hospital, you may not even wake up at all."
Aurora’s chest tightened. It wasn’t lying. Wilms tumor was serious.
The surgery and chemotherapy would weaken her.
Even if she survived, her body would never be the same. She would have to fight every day to stay healthy.
But in three years... she would be gone. Unmoving. Her life would pause while the world moved on without her.
"What if I refuse?" she asked.
"Then you will wake up, just as you did before. The deal will be gone, and you will have to fight your illness the normal way."
Aurora bit her lip. "Can I think about it?"
The voice chuckled softly. "You already are."
Aurora sighed. She was right. The choice was eating at her. No matter how much she thought, there was no easy answer.
Before she could say anything else, her body suddenly felt heavy. The mist around her faded, and in the blink of an eye, she woke up again.
In the afternoon, Olivia received a Rolex watch.
When she checked the price, her heart skipped a beat.
"My god! $90,000! This watch is worth $90,000!"
Aurora tried her best to hide her smile and acted calmly.
Olivia on the other hand was so stunned that she almost laughed. She called Adam and told him about the Rolex watch.
Adam returned home and checked the Rolex.
Compared to the excitement, he was more worried.
"Who is sending me these Rolex watches..." He muttered.
He called Rolex’s official site and asked who had made the purchase after telling them the order id.
Aurora wasn’t worried that she would be exposed. In fact, at this point, she even wished her parents would know about the rebate system’s existence.
But she doubted the system would let her expose it.
Just as she expected the staff member replied,
"Sorry Sir, due to some inexplicable reasons we can’t tell you about the buyer’s information."
Adam frowned. "Inexplicable reasons? What does that even mean?"
The Rolex staff on the phone apologized again.
"We don’t know, sir. The system won’t let us see the details. It’s like... the information doesn’t exist."
Adam sighed and hung up. His mind was racing.
A $90,000 watch, sent with no name, and even the company couldn’t track it? It didn’t make sense.
He looked at Aurora, who was sitting on the couch, calmly drinking her tea.
"Do you know anything about this?" he asked.
Aurora raised an eyebrow.
"Why would I?" she said, keeping her voice light. "Maybe it’s a mistake. You should return it."
Olivia, still holding the watch, gasped.
"Return it? Are you crazy? It’s real! We should sell it and keep the money!"
Adam rubbed his temples.
"We can’t just keep something like this. It could be a scam. Maybe someone is trying to trap us."
Aurora shrugged. "Then don’t keep it. Send it back to Rolex."
Adam found Aurora’s suggestion logical and called on customer service.
"I am sorry sir, due to some reason we can’t refund or take back the product." The staff explained.
"What if it is a scam?" Adam finally couldn’t help but explain his worries.
The staff on the phone hesitated before answering.
"Sir, we understand your concern, but this purchase is completely legitimate. There is no sign of fraud. You don’t need to worry."
Adam frowned.
"But I didn’t buy it. Someone sent it to me, and I don’t know who."
"I’m sorry, sir, but there’s nothing we can do. The watch belongs to you now," the staff replied.
Adam sighed in frustration and hung up the phone. He looked at Olivia, who was still holding the Rolex like it was a treasure.
"So... we just keep it?" Olivia asked, her eyes shining.
Adam shook his head.
"I don’t like this. Someone is sending us expensive gifts, and we don’t even know why."
Aurora knew the only way to make her family relax was by letting them see a figure...a figure who would explain the existence of all the expensive things suddenly appearing in the house.
Hence she continued the task of finding an actor.

In an apartment.
Emily sat hunched over her laptop, the dim glow of the screen casting shadows on her weary face.
She had been searching for days—high-paying jobs with minimal workload—but nothing seemed to fit.
She was a college dropout, having pursued an acting major before life had thrown her into this nightmare.
