Chapter 294: Back to Normalcy

Blaze’s pov

"He really tried to kill me?" I asked in surprise after raine finished feeling me up about what went down in the demon clan in my absence. I wouldn’t even say that I was surprised, because even though I was yet to meet my uncle from my mother’s side, I know he must be aware of my existence and that he hates me as well.

"He did and I’m certain he knew it was you who was up the mountain. He definitely wanted to use that opportunity to get rid of you before you think of coming for his throne." My sister continued and I let out a small scoff with a shake of my head.

After we exited the mountain, I teleported us to a garden, because I wasn’t sure if Roy was still staying at the old apartment. Since I’ve been absent for about six months, I’m very certain a lot of things has changed.

"Perhaps it’s time I finally go for that throne." I announced and at once, my sister’s eyes widened. I’ve never seen her in sunlight before and right now, the sun was making her face glow in a way. Her wings weren’t in sight but she still has a mystical aura around her.

"The throne is dangerous, uncle is dangerous and ruthless." She admitted while massaging her forehead and I let out a non committed hum.

"Does it rightfully belong to him? The throne?" I asked and she slowly shook her head.

"No, but..."

"It rightfully belongs to me, right?" I continued and she offered a slow nod while I hummed,

"Then I’d just get it back from him, since it’s rightfully mine." I informed her and she sighed.

"He’s really dangerous."

"I’m not afraid of him, and I’m certain I’m quite dangerous too at this point." I explained to her and she sighed again, genuinely appearing worried.

"So what are you doing next? You plan to move back to the clan after taking the throne? The people of the clan aren’t fond of you but I’m certain if you take down uncle, they’d all be grateful to you and would welcome you as their king." She revealed and I realized that she had got it all wrong.

"Wait... I’m not taking the throne from uncle because of myself, I’m taking it from him and giving it to you." I pointed out and she blinked slowly before her mouth fell open from shock.

"You are?" She asked quietly and I hummed, running my fingers through my hair.

"It’s rightfully yours and not mine, so it makes sense for it to go to you. You were supposed to sit on it but it didn’t work since you’re a woman. Now that I’ll take the throne back, I’ll put you on the throne myself. You’re a very great person and I’m certain you’d make an even better leader." I explained and her mouth wobbled for a few moments before she stepped forward and hugged me tight, sending a rush of emotions through every inch of my insides.

"I’m so glad to have you, Blaze. You’re the brother I never realized I needed, and the one who’s still looking out for me even if I’m so much older than you." She admitted quietly and I felt emotions clog up my throat. I held her tightly as I responded.

"Doesn’t matter how old you get, I’ll always look out for you." I told her sincerely and she pulled away to peer at me.

"I was so shaken up when you disappeared and I searched for you everywhere. I couldn’t believe that I cared about you to that extent. I’m so glad you’re safe and back here with us." She informed me and I pulled her into another hug, sincerely thanking her for everything because I knew if it wasn’t for her, I wouldn’t be here right now.

"What about your father’s throne? Are you gonna take over it and rule over the werewolf clan?" She asked after a few minutes and I realized that I had forgotten about that. After my father died, the throne was supposed to fall on my shoulders.

"In all honesty, I’m yet to think about that." I admitted with a small shrug. Taking over that throne was something I never saw myself doing since I could remember.

"Who’s currently on the throne?" I asked and she snorted.

"One of your cousins, Kendrick. Apparently, you signed a decree stating that he was to be made the king in your absence." She revealed and I felt a laugh bubble in my throat.

That slimy bastard.

"I’ll take care of that later." I finally responded and we shared another hug. We were standing beside one of the orange trees here in this large garden.

After we broke the hug, she was still saying something when moments caused my eyes and I turned, my eyes zeroing in on my mate. He and Kim had just arrived from fetching some fruits and I watched as he laughed softly at something Kim said. Roy was tailing behind them and his hands were deep in his pockets.

"He suffered so much in your absence, do you know that?" My sister’s voice pulled me out of my throughs and I glanced towards her.

"He was a mess. It’s a miracle he didn’t run mad. In all honesty, I’ve never witnessed that kind of love before. This thing that you both share, it’s so beautiful and also scary. Never part ways again, the both of you." She continued and I let out a wry laugh while my heart expanded in my chest.

"Don’t worry, because that’s never happening again." I informed her and she nodded in agreement. When she reached up to ruffle my hair, I let her without putting up a fight.

My eyes found Roy whose eyes were currently pinned on Kim as he animalistically gestured around while speaking to my mate who was listening attentively.

"Those two are still dancing around each other, huh?" I muttered in amusement and my sister snickered.

"It’s sometimes too painful to watch." She added and from what I could see right now, I couldn’t agree more.
