Chapter 72: 72. Discovery

Hua Jin thought about the space having a garden but said nothing, since they couldn’t enter anyway, talking about it was useless.

However, how to plant might be something to consult with grandpa and grandma. The land in the space can’t be left barren forever, this is unforgivable for Hua Jin, who always likes to hoard things.

"Even having grains?" The surprised Qi Shi couldn’t help but exclaim.

The bed full of delicious snacks she’d never seen before already amazed her, and now with even grains available, Qi Shi started to suspect her daughter might be an Immortal’s child going through trials in the mortal world. Otherwise, how could the child have such a haven for survival?

"Mm," Hua Jin nodded, and under the bed appeared two 10-kilogram vacuum bags of rice and flour she extracted with her mind.

"Mum, Dad, these bags don’t belong to this world and need to be returned to the space," Hua Jin reminded them.

The couple looked at the rice and flour on the ground. Honestly, their emotions were indescribable, mixed with a bit of worry. Would taking out so much stuff affect the child?

"Daughter, if all these were given by the Immortal, wouldn’t they be upset if you took them all out?" Qi Shi worriedly glanced at her husband.

"Mum, Dad, you’re overthinking. Since this blessed land is mine, it definitely won’t be taken back. Relax and enjoy it," Hua Jin said assuredly.

Although she didn’t know why her house accompanied her to the ancient times, Hua Jin inexplicably felt that her house would not just disappear.

Knowing their child well, Hua Chengtian and Qi Shi felt at ease since the child said so.

The packaging is vacuum-sealed, and afraid her parents wouldn’t know how to start, Hua Jin simply took out a pair of scissors to help her parents open the bags, leaving no excuse not to eat.

The couple had never seen such high-quality rice and flour. The flour was fragrant and very white, but each grain of the rice was bright, clear, and exuding a rich fragrance, demonstrating what true fine rice was, so much that they were reluctant to eat it.

Looking at each other, they became completely certain that their daughter’s blessed land was granted by the Immortal, having only a slight doubt before.

Such excellent grains could only be possessed by an Immortal.

There were so many surprises the couple didn’t even remember how they left the room, just managed to remind the child to sleep early, each carrying a big pile of food along with the rice and flour away from the child’s room.

Dazedly, they only brought back the good food, even bringing the rice and flour meant for the kitchen directly into their room; when they realized, they saw no reason to take them out, as such fine grains couldn’t be seen outside, so how could they safely store them in the kitchen?

Moreover, the old man is the village chief, and people often come by, especially thick-skinned women who like to roam around, so it’s better to be cautious to avoid arousing jealousy.

That night, the couple fell asleep with excited hearts.

The old man Hua and the old woman Hua felt the same, especially the old man Hua who would have researched his crossbow till who knows when if not for the need to save lamp oil.

Over here, as soon as her parents left, Hua Jin entered the space, also taking the packaging on the bed back with her.

Seeing the weed-filled garden, she resignedly stepped in, donned gloves, and picked up the hoe stored in the space, starting her laborious weeding journey.

After working for two hours, exhausted and aching, she finally had to stop.

Leaning on the hoe in the garden, looking at the vast space, Hua Jin felt a severe headache.

Relying just on her little hands, when would she ever finish hoeing all this land!

Seeing that despite her hard work, she hadn’t even covered a third of the garden, her face instantly became bitter.

And that’s just the front yard, the backyard is even bigger.

Actually, her family’s house only had a front yard, but somehow a backyard appeared along when she came over, making Hua Jin quite happy, as having more personal space was naturally better.

It’s great, but working it can truly be exhausting. If only the grass in the yard could take care of itself.

Hua Jin couldn’t help but think.

What happened next overwhelmed Hua Jin’s already fragile mind.

As if hearing her thoughts, the little grasses pulled themselves up all at once, especially in the backyard where the grass floated slowly into the front yard where Hua Jin stood, covering the entire sky with greenery, turning Hua Jin’s space into a sea of green.

Then, with a thought, Hua Jin arranged them neatly under the windowsill in the empty space, as if a conscious hand had lined them up precisely.

This spectacular scene broke Hua Jin’s understanding, filling her with amazement.

She had only used her mind to fetch things from the space in reality, but unexpectedly could manipulate the space like this too, it couldn’t get any better.

This discovery made Hua Jin no longer troubled. If the space had a physical form at that moment, she would’ve hugged it and kissed it, it was so considerate. Her face beamed brightly with a smile.

Now that the troublesome grass was completely cleared, the remaining task is just turning over the soil.

Just as Hua Jin was confidently thinking about tilling the land, she was taken aback by the result.

The garden remained the same, the land remained the same; apart from the soil the weeds uprooted, there was no change in the ground.

This is... not working.

Her joyous expression paused; Hua Jin was truly surprised.

Was it just a one-time thing? It can’t be this deceptive, she couldn’t help but think.

Whether it works could be determined by trying, yet looking at the hovering grass, Hua Jin didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.

Hua Jin tried several more times but the result was still the same.

Even floating items from the house into the garden was possible, but tasks involving the land automatically failed. Hua Jin couldn’t pinpoint the issue, it just wouldn’t work.

Does this mean anything touching the soil won’t work, but things not related to the soil will?

With this thought, Hua Jin decided to conduct one last experiment, and then resolve to sleep regardless of the result, or else she wouldn’t be able to get up the next day.

Upon retrieving a rope buried and pressed under the soil, Hua Jin felt no luck.

It still required her to till the soil herself!

Or perhaps it was meant for her not to gain benefits effortlessly.

Fine, time to sleep.

Although the result wasn’t ideal, it was better than having to do everything manually; now it was just tilling the soil which Hua Jin could accept.

The next day, Hua Jin still woke up late, making Qi Shi who stood outside her daughter’s door and called several times without a response worry again.

Usually, the child would be up before breakfast, and remembering the stout wild boar from yesterday, Qi Shi’s complexion turned pale.

She was too careless; even if the child appeared normal, she was still a child. She looked fine yesterday, but what if she reacted sluggishly?

She couldn’t help but blame herself for not checking after going to sleep last night. Fortunately, the door opened in the next instant; otherwise, Qi Shi would’ve considered breaking in.

Seeing her daughter sleepy-eyed and hearing that soft "Mom" from the child put Qi Shi at ease, quietly thinking to herself, thankfully.

Hua Jin was unaware that her late awakening caused her mother to have wild thoughts again.

After breakfast, she was almost dragged by her eager dad onto the ox cart into town, nearly leaving behind the designs she had drawn. Luckily, she remembered at the last minute before leaving, or it would’ve been a wasted trip.
