Extra's Path To Demon King-Chapter 82: The Embrace of Death
Chapter 82: The Embrace of Death
Calling upon all the power of his demonic bloodline, and all the rage he could muster, he brought out every single artifact he crafted, hundreds, thousands, hundreds of thousands, and millions of swords that came out from Axel’s rings. They all rushed into the sky, and the runes engraved on them shimmered in golden radiance. Using his demonic energy, crystalline mana, and all the bloodlust and his will, he poured them all into his millions of swords that covered the entire sky.
The sky was already cloudy, but the millions of swords each dawned in different patterns and runes darkened the sky even more than it was already before. Darkness covered the figure of Axel, his slightly long hair waved in the raging winds, and only his runic eyes blazing in crimson fury could be seen. Seeing the millions of swords, each and every single one of them filled with absolute power, which even made the vice tower masters shudder in slight fear.
Axel pulled his hand upwards and motioned downward as he declared, "Obliterate."
The moment he said the word, all hell went loose, the sage tower master commanded in a loud voice, "Attack,,,,,,,,"
The Berserker roared, and all the 13 powerhouses attacked with all their might,
The Sage declared, "Spear of Supremacy"
Cedric voiced, "Command of Cancelation."
The Elemental conjured, "Fire of Disintegration."
The Death Mage shot out, "Light of Death."
The Spirit Mage summoned, "Spirit of Destruction"
The illusionist muttered, "Illusory reality."
The Arcanist cast, "Probability manipulation."
The Sorcerer attacked, "Divergence"
The Summoner called out, "Beast of the Void."
The Warlock Transformed, "Serpentine Warlock"
The witch performed, "Dark Decay".
The berserker roared, "Berserker Sword Art, 3rd form, Berserker of doom."
Axel remained undeterred in front of all those catastrophic levels of spells; every single one of them was enough to flatten an entire city, not to mention how they intertwined, mixed together, and formed a sinister attack that might flatten hundreds of kilometers in diameter.
The millions of swords high in the sky were not to be looked down on either. As they drew closer and closer, the 13 powerhouses could see nothing but swords in their entire vision, the attacks of the powerhouses combined into one, rose higher and higher and intertwined in a blinding white radiance, and the moment the attack met with the very sky made of swords, everything went silent.
There was no shockwave, no explosion, in fact it was eerily silent, as if everyone’s ears had turned deaf, but the apocalyptic level of destruction in their sight told them an entirely different story, everything turned white for a moment, the entire world shuddered.
It was the level of destruction that was 10 times greater than even the most powerful of the nuclear bombs. A terrifying level of shockwave spread from the center, and a heaven-shaking explosion resounded in the surroundings.

Axel had all of his defensive artifacts activated in the nick of time, but he was flung away multiple kilometers outside from the area where he was hovering in, each of his defensive artifacts continued to break one after another.
He barely held onto his consciousness. After an unknown amount of time, he opened his eyes, his entire body was a bloody mess, and just moving his body seemed like an impossible effort. But he was still able to stand up with sheer will. As he looked around, an expression of horror appeared on his face. Everything for hundreds and hundreds of kilometers had transformed into a hellish landscape.
Dusts and smoke flew everywhere, every inch of the land was scorched, no remains of any animal or plant life could be seen, even a volcano had erupted from beneath as a result of the apocalyptic level of the destruction that proceeded here.
He noticed that he had transformed back into a human. He wondered if the attack was enough to kill them. But alas, reality was always disappointing.
13 figures came out from the smoke, limping, it seems they were quite injured and in a bloody state, but they were in a much better state than himself. The Sage chuckled seeing the disbelieving look on Axel’s face, "All the vice master’s each have their own life saving artifacts left behind by the 8th circle real Tower master’s."
"But yes, without those, we would indeed be most likely dead, but fate is not on your side, boy, just like it wasn’t for Durein Nightcrown."
Then without waiting for a response, another figure came from behind and stabbed one of his very own made swords right through his chest, Axel’s eyes widened in disbelief, he did not have a single ounce of energy left, nor could he sense the surroundings, tilting his head backwards, it was the librarian, old man Leroy had stabbed right through his heart from the back.
Blood came out of his chest, mouth, and eyes. He slumped to the ground defeated, despaired, and filled with boundless regret, the unresolved revenge weighing in his mind, even though Axel should not care about the family he had in this trial, he did care, and he had come to accept it.
His eyes closed, embracing the sweet end of death, the promise of eternal rest and peace, calling out to him gently.
After an unknown amount of time, he saw the familiar view of his soul space, the will of the Durein Nightcrown was looking at him with a pitiful expression, the will stated, "You know kid, the same thing happened with me, back then, I was betrayed, destroyed, eliminated."
"I’m sorry for what happened to you, but I need that body of yours to pay them back a hundredfold in return. Lend me your body, kid, and I promise I’ll slaughter every single one of them; there will never be another mage tower of any path ever again. I promise you the sweet taste of the greatest vengeance, instead of the sweetness of death."
Axel looked at the will and stated expressionlessly, "Make the oath."
The ghostly figure of the will lit up, as he made the oath, "I, Durein Nightcrown, promise to slaughter every single perpetrator behind the death of Ashborn’s mother and brother, directly or indirectly involved, once I gain access to his body."
Axel nodded at that promise and stopped suppressing the foreign existence inside his polygon circles. He slowly let the foreign existence invade his mind and memories.
It was an extremely disgusting feeling to let another presence invade the deepest depth of his being, but he did not have another choice, he was almost dead, he did not know why the will did not simply wait for him to die and then take over his body, but it seems, the will needed him to willingly hand over the control of his own body to him, for the greatest amount of control.
