Extra's Path To Demon King-Chapter 87: Three Branches and The 21 Aspects

At night, both Axel and Heinz lay down on their two-floored bed, Axel on the upper bed and Heinz on the lower one. Heinz asked, "Considering how your appearance has changed, it must have been tough, wasn’t it?"

Axel spoke without hesitation, "Yes...quite tough, so much so that I would never want to go through it again. Never."

Heinz spoke with a trace of sadness, "Yeah, me neither, man, me neither."

Axel then spoke something to lift up the mood, "But dude, did you notice the Valkyrie, I mean, how could there be a woman so beautiful?"

Heinz gulped visibly and said with some hesitation, "I mean, I did look at her unconsciously once. I guess...."

But Axel could see the underlying temptation in his friend’s tone, then their topic of discussion drifted further away, as they also started talking about the other girls like 5th princess, and in the end Heinz expresed his jeousy towards Axel and cursed out aloud at the fact that, how many of the girls were ogling him. Axel laughed aloud at that statement and reassured his friend that he had also become quite good looking.

Axel even promised his friend to help him get some cute girls, which was obviously an empty promise since he himself never had a girlfriend. Thankfully, he wasn’t a virgin anymore, which produced a smug smile on his face. He wisely chose not to reveal that piece of information to his friend, otherwise, the guy would become green with jealousy.

The next day in morning, they were all gathered in the large central field of the academy. based on the evaluations, all 1200 students would be separated into 4 sections of 300 students each.

Vice-principal Selwyn Brown started explaining, addressing everyone, "As you all remember, when I first explained is that there are a total of 21 Aspects, and 7 among them belong to other races, which you can only have if you have bloodline of those races within you or from one of those races."

"So, that only leaves 14 that humans can get."

There was an underlying meaning behind his statement, only humans can be admitted in the academy, at least openly, its not that humans don’t want other races bloodlines to mix with them rather, the other strong races are simply unable to reproduce with humans, its not exactly impossible but takes too much effort. And the other races have warned the human kings not to dare mix their lowly bloodline with the other races.

There could be very serious consequences if the Unified Human Academy had any of such halfblood individuals. But there were a few, the principal personally made sure to hide them. They were quite pitiful as they were exiled from the lands of the other races.

So, he alone wasn’t hiding himself here. Though demons are unanimously seen as enemies, he couldn’t reveal his bloodline, even to the half-blood individuals. Not to mention the main character himself had the blood of a Dragon running through his veins, and not just any dragon, rather the goddamn Gold Dragon.

Axel focused his attention back on the vice principal. The vice principal waved his hands, and countless white papers flew in the air, and every single one of the students received one sheet of paper each. The vice principal stated, "Look at the sheet of paper and you will understand the basics."

Axel read the sheet of paper carefully, even though he already knew of its contents.

All 21 aspects can be categorized into three branches.

The aspects within the Magic Branch -

The vice principal explained extensively after a minute that all aspects have a potential rating from 1 star to 4 stars being the highest. Now there are some limitations and rules to acquiring aspects, for example, no matter how well you perform in a trial, one being can only have one 4-star aspect. And no one is an exception to these rules.

He further explained that if someone has a primary aspect as Arcanist, and a secondary aspect as Saint, both of the aspects’ star ratings would combine together like -

Arcanist [3 star] + Saint [4 star] = 7 star.

Then the said individual has the 7-star potential, meaning the said person can continue to the 7th phase Seeker. So, the Star rating of both aspects combined together indicate the highest phase of power one can achieve in their lifetime or their limit.

The star rating of each aspect does not in fact mean that one aspect is better than the other, it depends on how great of a compatibility one has with their said aspects, which is the reason why Prime Nexus stated to everyone at the start of their trial, to find a trace of their true self, which is how they can awaken the very aspects, they are most compatible with them.

However, the 4-star aspects are indeed stronger or more advantageous than the ones with 1-3 stars.

There is also another set of information, those who have two aspects from the same branch are called Specialists, and those with aspects from different branches are Generalists.

For all those Seekers from the 1st to the 4th phase, they can only keep one aspect active at once; however, the passive effects of the other aspect, which is inactive, may remain. The primary aspect would have greater influence in your being than the secondary aspect, in general.

It was quite complicated together, there were even more information but the vice principal graciously decided not to dump everything in one go as the rest will be explained in the various classes.

Now it was to find out everyone’s primary and secondary aspects, of course, all the students themselves knew their own thing, but the academy needed to know of it for the best arrangements of the students. A round shaped white artifact same size as that of a bowling bowl is used to identify the aspects of each person.

One after another, each student was called on the stage and they were instructed to put their mana or energy into the white orb or ball. The white ball would absorb the energy and show two types of energy or colors split in the middle.

Since everyone already knew what aspects they had, only the other were often surprised if someone noteworthy had achieved greatness or not. Eventually, came the turn of the Valkyrie and every single student watched in bated breath, no one even dared to breathe loudly. The Valkyrie, being an otherworlder who is supposed to have the greatest potential.

Walking up to the stage in her captivating and graceful figure, but chillingly ruthless eyes, wearing the full black dress hugging her entire body, while also making her look like a warrior, she poured her mana into the white ball.

One side of the ball turned Ashen while the other turned light green, everyone gasped at that sight since at the beginning, the vice principal explained what each of the colors represented.

So, all the students could instantly guess what her aspects were, primary aspect ’Saint’ and secondary aspect ’Arcanist’; she has 7-star potential. Loud gasps and yells could be heard from everyone as everyone was shocked, everyone continued to nod to those alongside them and say, ’As expected of the Valkyrie.’

Even the teachers and Vice-principal wore a shocked look at that revelation, but the beauty in question did not care about their reaction and simply went down, without needing anyones permission.

More tests continued, and few of them ended up having one or two 3-star aspects which in itself was a big deal as for having 4 star aspect it was almost close to impossible. In the last 500 or more years only the Valkyrie was the first one to get a 4 star aspect.

Soon, Axel’s friend Heinz Gil’s turn came. Axel wore a dubious smile as he thought, well everyone is in for a show, Heinz placed his hands on the ball and poured his mana into it.

One side remained whitish while the other side became slightly black with strange white spots, together forming some kind of group. The vice principal announced with excitement, "Primary aspect, Sage and Secondary aspect, warlord."

An even greater shock spread through the surrounding crowd at that announcement. Just who was this random guy that no one even knew that actually had the same 7-star potential as that of the Valkyrie herself? The vice principal soon found out that Heinz was a commoner from the Suncrest Kingdom. The royals and noble heirs of the other two kingdoms were displeased by that announcement, as it was already difficult for them that there was a valkyrie with 7-star potential, but there was another unknown commoner from the same kingdom.

Countless murmurs followed, but the procedure continued without stopping. And the next was our OG main character Lucian Suncrest himself.
