Falling for the Omega Idol-Chapter 92: I’D BE INTERESTED IN HIM TOO
Chapter 92: I’D BE INTERESTED IN HIM TOO
HANEUL took a deep breath, wiping the sweat from his brow as he glanced at the clock on the wall. Nearly noon. He and Robin had planned to meet at the hotel restaurant around this time for lunch. But covered in sweat from an intense dance practice, he knew he needed to freshen up and change his clothes first.
The last thing he wanted was to show up reeking of sweat, especially in front of the mentors during the theme song choreography dance practice. Which would happen at 1 PM. At the very least, he wanted to look presentable.
He left the practice room and took the elevator up to his assigned room, hoping he wouldn’t run into Park Mirae. He just wasn’t in the mood for a back-and-forth banter disguised as polite conversation. Fortunately, the room was empty when he arrived. Wasting no time, he swapped out his sweaty clothes for a fresh set, feeling instantly better. Once ready, he headed down to the hotel restaurant.
Walking into the restaurant, Haneul scanned the room, searching for Robin. With Robin being the only contestant Haneul knew with pink hair, he focused on finding that distinct color among the crowd. Soon enough, he spotted him at a table near the window, sitting calmly and looking around as if he had been waiting patiently.
Haneul made his way over, weaving through the tables until he reached Robin’s side. Without hesitation, he pulled out the chair across from him and sat down, relieved to have found him without any hassle.
"Sorry, hyung. I had to change clothes first before coming here," he started. "Have you been waiting long?"
Robin waved his hand. "No, I just got here as well."
Noticing that Robin hadn’t grabbed any food yet, it seemed that was indeed the case. Just as Haneul was about to suggest they line up for food, a familiar voice called out to him.
"Haneul, I’m so glad you found Robin quickly," he said, setting down a tray of food and taking the empty seat next to Robin. "He was actually worried you two might have trouble finding each other."
Robin shot Han Seojun a sideways glance. Since they’d been in the same group for vocal practice at 11 AM, Seojun had simply tagged along afterward. In fact, they’d been together since breakfast, which would have been fine—if the other hadn’t been subtly prying him for information about Haneul the entire time.
Han Seojun might think he was being subtle about it, but Robin was pretty observant. Especially more so if it had something to do with Haneul. Although he must admit, he didn’t really think much about it at first.
Initially, the other began by casually asking how he and Haneul had met. It wasn’t exactly a secret, so Robin didn’t mind answering. But as one question became two, then three, then four, it became obvious that Han Seojun had more than a passing curiosity.
If he were more like Jung Taeyang, who was openly rude to anyone but Haneul, it would’ve been easier for Robin to be blunt with him. But the thing was, Robin genuinely thought Han Seojun was a good guy. There was a sincerity in the way he carried himself, without a hint of malice. He didn’t even seem to have a mean bone in his body. Getting annoyed with him for asking questions would almost feel like he was the bad guy.
So, he decided to just be direct with him.
"Well, I have Robin hyung’s bright pink hair to thank for that," Haneul replied to Seojun’s earlier comment.
"Yeah, I can see that," Seojun chuckled a bit. "Anyway, you two should go grab some food. I’ll stay here and hold the table."
Robin knock on Seojun’s head as he stood up, not in a hard way but more on a playful manner. "Don’t make it sound like you’re guarding a fortress or something."
Seojun laughed, scratching his cheek. "I guess it does seem that way, doesn’t it?"
Haneul raised a brow at the interaction, then stood up and followed Robin over to the food area.
"Looks like you and Seojun have gotten closer," he commented as they walked.
"Hmm... really? I think it’s just so-so," Robin said with a shrug.
Haneul didn’t share the same opinion. He thought the two have moved past being just acquaintances. It’s like they had crossed that line into actual friendship. Although the interaction they had was pretty simple, it showed a certain closeness that strangers wouldn’t show each other.
Well, in any case, he was just glad that Robin was getting along with another person.
Seojun, who remained seated, watched the back of the two. As he did, he couldn’t help but think back to their conversation earlier.
=====
Robin stopped and turned to face Seojun, who was walking just behind him. "Look, if you want to know about Haneul, ask him directly. I’m not exactly comfortable sharing details about my friend with others."
Seojun, who also stopped, felt confused at first. He didn’t know why the other would suddenly say that. But then it slowly dawned on him that he had been asking Robin about Haneul. It wasn’t even his intention. But somehow, every time their conversation started, he would end it with questions about Haneul. That realization made him fluster, turning his whole face red.
Damn. What was wrong with him? Was he really this affected by Haneul’s face? Now that he’d noticed just how striking Haneul was, he couldn’t get him out of his head. He hadn’t realized he could be this shallow. And what if Robin thought he was some kind of creep?
"S-sorry, I didn’t mean—I mean—I was just... and then things just..." he trailed off, realizing that the more he spoke, the more it sounded like an excuse. Taking a deep breath, he decided to own up to it. "I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to put you in an awkward position. I won’t do it again."
Robin looked at him intently, as if studying his expression. Then he turned around and continued walking. "It’s fine. I get it. If Haneul were an Alpha, I’d be interested in him too."
