Farming in a Parallel World and Becoming a God-Chapter 1148 - 649: Coercion and Temptation_2
Chapter 1148: Chapter 649: Coercion and Temptation_2
"Oh omnipotent god of poison, scales, and claws, the great Serpent of Death, I am willing to offer you all that I have. I am willing to become your sacred vessel that spreads death, that spreads fear. Grant me the power to kill all my enemies before me. I will present you with endless death and souls. I am ready to transform the entire Tun Marsh into a deadly poison swamp, so that your formidable name stands tall on this land, and everyone trembles under your toxic breath..."
The Serpent People’s High Priest Anachet hissed out his prayer, with words full of evil and destruction. In order to survive, to clinch the final victory, he ruthlessly sold off all the living creatures of the entire Tun Marsh.
Gaven sighed with some frustration, "Dealing with you cultists is the most troublesome. At every turn, you call upon your god to intervene, and at every turn, you stage a ritual sacrifice, offering up everyone as a pawn. What do you take these creatures for? Pigs bred in your pens? Ready to be slaughtered at your whim? Can’t you come up with some more original tactics? I’m sorry to inform you that as of now, I am the guardian of Tun Marsh, and I won’t allow you to poison this place, nor will I let you kill indiscriminately. So, so, so, so..."
Already positioned right above the Serpent People’s High Priest, Gaven activated the War Ravager, causing it to instantly transform into a gigantic state. This growth process was an attack in itself, hurling Gaven towards Anachet.
Under normal circumstances, Gaven’s move would be difficult to hit the enemy, because it wasn’t very fast, affording the average person ample time to run away. However, it was perfect for taking down inanimate objects, an unparalleled tool for demolition. Even the sturdiest of castles could not withstand a free falling 1,200-ton hammer from high above.
Anachet, however, was not in a normal state. He was completely absorbed in channeling the divine power of his deity into his body, transforming himself to gain greater strength. His body was visibly darkening and swelling like a blown-up balloon, taking on more of the image of a gigantic king cobra rather than a Serpent Person.
Gaven’s timing of the attack was perfect. The divine power being funneled into Anachet’s snake-like body was the biggest anchor, pinning him firmly in place.
The Serpent People’s High Priest was not completely unprepared though. The Elite Serpent People arranged themselves in a battle formation, three rings inside and three rings out, surrounding him at the very center of the formation to delay the enemy for some time.
However, they did not expect Gaven’s method of attack to be so extraordinary.
The hammer, with a handle taller than a six-story building and a head as large as a house, descended from the sky. Although they were uncertain about its exact weight, they knew it couldn’t be light using common sense.
Before it, their attacks were laughably weak; all their arrows were blown away. The magical shields conjured by the Abhorrent Serpent People Sacrificers crumbled like bubbles under its pressure.
In the presence of such overbearing strength, not to mention magic, even the Plane Laws could be shattered.
The 1,200-ton weight of the War Ravager is an overbearing strength, no defensive magic could withstand its crushing blow, not even the City Defense Maze Lock stood much chance, as its attack was too concentrated.
But then again, this kind of size change of the Strategic Ravager is itself a form of magic, and one of the highest order at that, involving the use of divine power. Ordinary magic does not possess the ability to change a hammer through nine body types.
Boom!
Even though it merely fell from a dozen or so meters, the inherent massiveness of the War Ravager caused a great disturbance.
The Serpent People’s High Priest Anachet’s mad sacrifice came to a sudden halt. Under the overwhelming pressure, the ground of the Giant Dragon King Palace was forcefully pushed down several meters. Not to mention flesh and blood, it was instantly obliterated, as dead as dead can be.
As for the Serpent People who had previously guarded Anachet, they had already scattered before the War Ravager struck, possibly avoiding this attack, but they could not escape the subsequent Chasing by the True Shadow Brigade. Even if they all jumped into the putrid pools, they could not hide.
Desperately, they found that the entire Giant Dragon Palace was enveloped and isolated by a strange force, leaving them no way to escape.
In such an overbearing situation, the Shadow Duel Arena was naturally involved.
It must be said that the name War Ravager truly matches its capabilities, not only plundering the enemy’s wealth but also their souls.
Once ensnared, it is almost impossible for anyone below Legendary to escape.
With Anachet’s death, the Serpent People lost their biggest variable, the rest was a one-sided slaughter, including the Serpent People Curse Exilers who could not stir any trouble, and meeting their end was only a matter of time.
This battle was strategically imbalanced from the beginning.
There was an intelligence imbalance; Gaven and his forces knew of the existence of the Serpent People Tribe and were aware of their covetous eyes upon Tun Marsh, highly likely to take action opportunistically.
However, the Serpent People Tribe did not know the Conqueror Army was aware of them, nor did they understand the Conqueror Army’s power and foundation.
There was also an imbalance of power. The Tun Serpents were but a group suppressed within the confines of Tun Marsh by the Lizard Court. Their relative strength was limited, and even with decades of plotting, their ambition only extended to the Tang Marsh, and their target was the Lizard Court itself, taking advantage of the situation stirred by the Conqueror Army. Without this grand scenario, they would not have had the chance to launch their conspiracy and schemes.
