Chapter 1155: Chapter 651: Contribution Value System_3

Blackscaled Lizardfolk with such experiences were not needed in large numbers; a mere dozen or so within the entire Blackscale Legion was enough. Passed down by word of mouth, all Blackscaled Lizardfolk would groom their scale armor to be as smooth as possible. This new master was as kind and benevolent as an Angel but could also become as ruthless as a Devil and as ferocious as a Demon. The Lizard Queen was nothing more than a tool in his hands.

Unlike the Lizard Queen, whether he shows you his angelic side or devilish side does not depend on him, but on how you treat him. His angelic side was reserved for his lieges and servants, while the Devil and Demon aspects were shown only to his enemies.

An army just needs to be intimidated and have all of its line commanders firmly in control; the rest becomes very simple.

Especially since the Blackscale Legion’s station isn’t in the City of Faith but in Yewen Pond of the Valley. They were isolated and far from their homeland, and dared not make any rash moves.

Although Blackscaled Lizardfolk had the blood of the Black Dragon, they shared the ground-based weaknesses of regular lizardfolk, albeit to a lesser extent, and naturally could not follow the Conqueror Army on their long migratory path.

Besides, the operation against the defeated Koutao Fishmen near the Ashaba River was underway in secrecy, and this brand-new Naval Force could be put to good use. After simple retraining and re-arming, Gaven arranged for them to be teleported back to Yewen Pond in batches—such is the advantage of having a large number of Transcendent Casters at one’s disposal.

With some time, Gaven could teleport the entire Conqueror Army to the Valley with the Transcendent Casters he controlled.

But every action has its cost—just as everyone knows the convenience of flying, they still choose other forms of transportation, and teleportation is not only more convenient than flying, it’s also much more expensive, especially for large-scale translocations.

Even for these Transcendent Casters, particularly those Sacrificers who are exclusive to Lady Strategy and serve under the Holy Strategist now, he can’t have them cast spells without offering remuneration.

Short-term, one or two times might work, but long-term will definitely cause problems. For these casters, besides normal salary, there’s a special spellcasting pay package based on the Spell Ring or spell used each time, which grants corresponding rewards.

However, such rewards are not solely in the form of Gold Coins but are combined with the Gnolls’ contribution system. Each time they are awarded certain contribution points, which they can use to exchange with the Conqueror Army for the items they need.

Contribution points can be exchanged into a variety of items. The Conqueror Army has a specialized contribution value warehouse and inventory including various casting materials, assorted production and living supplies, equipment (ranging from low to high-level Magic Equipment), and some unconventional spell learning opportunities.

If the holder of the contribution points wishes, he can even use them to obtain various services from the Conqueror Army, like hiring a higher-level spellcaster to cast spells, requesting assistance from a Regular Army to solve personal affairs, or getting casting materials or tools that are normally inaccessible.

These contributions points cannot be bought with money, and they carry more weight than money within the Conqueror Army. The system is still being explored and perfected, currently implemented only for members within the Conqueror Army, but eventually for everyone. As long as one can contribute to the Conqueror Army and refuses cash remuneration, it can be converted into contribution points by ratio. All meritorious service will be awarded matching contribution points, and apart from this method, there’s no other way to obtain them, not even with money.

However, the Conqueror Army supports the trading of contribution points, because if such valuable things were forbidden from trade, uncontrollable black-market dealings would surely emerge, including the possibility of violent threats and other sinister transactions. It’s better to keep it under control, as the main purpose of contribution points is to stimulate the public’s enthusiasm for working for the Conqueror Army. As long as they’re built on this foundation, it doesn’t matter whose hands these contribution points end up in.

As the Conqueror Army grows, these contribution points will progressively open up to outsiders and even other powers to quantify relationships and leverage external forces for the development of their own territories.

Simply put, this is a special mercenary system, but no longer unilateral, rather it’s bidirectional. Now, it serves the Conqueror Army, but in the future, it will aid Gaven’s territories, acting as an intermediary, mobilizing all human and material resources while simultaneously achieving his own objectives.

Apart from the high price, another strategic reason Gaven doesn’t use Teleportation Spells on a large scale is considerations.

If everyone was teleported directly from Darama to the Valley at the start, there would be no Conqueror Army, no Conqueror Path, and none of the momentum stirred along the way.

Gaven also pinned his hopes of conquering the Rocklands on the Conqueror Army.

Due to geographical reasons, the Lizard Court was inseparable from the City of Faith.

Without the Lizard Queen’s endless hunger, the daily catch of the Blackscaled Lizardfolk immediately began to show a significant surplus. For the first time, these lizardfolk experienced the happy dilemma of abundance: their aquatic products were not suitable for mass, long-term storage. Throwing them into the Corrosion Pool for pickling could significantly extend their shelf life, and with their Black Dragon lineage, their digestive systems could handle such food.

But now they had a better option—to trade with the Conqueror Army of the City of Faith, obtaining ironware, cheap grain, high-quality fishing nets, medium and small fishing boats convenient for water towing, a large amount of sea salt, methods for planting aquatic crops, construction techniques for rice paddies, and building breeding ponds, and so on.
