Getting a Sugar Mommy in Cultivation World!!-Chapter 607: Song Liu’s Worth
"Even if you brought a talent like her back, it does not explain why you went against my orders. Instead of coming back after you were done planting your spies in the capital, you used the assets of the organization to attack a sect, risking exposing us ahead of time. Not to mention only you and one of your captains were the ones who came back with the help of the Space Burning Butterfly." The more the priestess spoke, the colder her voice got, and even the air around Amon seemed to have come to a still. Even Song Liu felt like there was a blade hanging over her head that could fall at any time.
Amon knew he had to explain his actions properly, or things could become very troublesome for him today. Even though the generals had to obey the orders of the High Priestess, if they felt like their actions could benefit their lord, they could disobey the orders at that time.
The High Priestess knew about this but did not mind this kind of thing as they all were working to accomplish the same goal. But if she did not feel like the actions of the general affected their plan or were of enough importance to disobey her orders, she had the power to punish them accordingly.
Stella was practically grinning from ear to ear when she saw Amon being reprimanded. Now she only wished Amon would fail to convince the priestess and get killed along with the hateful girl he brought along with him.
Amon took a deep breath to calm himself and arrange the words in his mind before finally speaking up. "I will first give you the report on everything that happened in the Red Fire Continent and how it could have been the biggest threat to our organization."
As soon as those words came out of his mouth, Hemes, who was calmly drinking his tea, Stella, who was daydreaming, and the High Priestess, who was about to bring the cup to her lips, froze at the same time, and their expressions turned very serious.
"Explain!" The High Priestess did not doubt the authenticity of his words and gave Amon a chance to speak.
Amon glanced over his shoulder at the girl standing behind his seat before he started recounting everything that happened from the time he received the report of one of his strongholds being destroyed.
He went on to explain how someone was hunting their people when he had hidden them very deeply in the Domains. By the time he started explaining about the appearance of the Benevolent Guardian Sect and Noah, the expressions on the two other generals' faces finally changed.
"The power to prevent the power of our lord from affecting them?" The High Priestess muttered under her breath, lost in thought.
"Are you sure that the old man's power matched that family?" Hemes, on the other hand, focused on another detail. Receiving the nod of confirmation from Amon caused him to frown. "Why are they acting out in the open? This has never happened before..."
"Hey! Why are you focusing on the wrong thing? There is someone who can counter the power of our lord!" Stella shouted in indignation. This time, the High Priestess did not stop her and stayed silent, lost in her thoughts.
"You don't have to worry about that guy anymore." Amon shook his head and looked at Stella from the corner of his eyes. "I used all of my force just to make sure I could end the existence of someone like him who could grow strong enough to step in our way."
Those words finally snapped the High Priestess out of her thoughts. She turned to look at Amon but remained silent.
"Huh? Even though he has a way to counter 'that' power, isn't it over the top to say someone like him could stand in our way?" Hemes frowned at that statement along with Stella. Not just him, the others also believed no one could stand against their High Priestess.
She was an existence only second to their lord in their hearts.
"That guy…" Amon shook his head. "With his cultivation of the first level of the Golden Core Realm, he could stand toe to toe against the Mindeye Phantom Crown Lion without taking too much damage. The same beast who was at the peak of Rank 6."
"Are you certain?" It was Hemes who spoke first, his voice gaining a hint of heaviness.
"Impossible! That beast can even kill Soul Formation Realm experts without much trouble!" Stella immediately rejected those words. She could not even bring herself to believe it.
"Was he using some kind of treasure?" The High Priestess maintained a calm appearance and asked softly.
"I am not sure if he had an artifact to protect his soul, but he had a sword that could cast a very powerful illusion."
"That guy seems to not be the only strong hindrance in that sect." The masked woman spoke, looking around the room and taking in each one of their expressions. "From what General Amon described, they all seem to be people with great potential that could pose a great threat if left alive."
"Then should we send someone to destroy the sect and those people? If you can give me the authority to release the full extent of my powers, I can do it alone." Amon showed a frown on his face and suggested, only to be rejected.
"No! Exposing your power is not needed for now. We cannot expose ourselves to the light after spending too much time in the dark. The matters of the Benevolent Guardian Sect will be handled on the day we first make a move." The High Priestess suggested with confidence seeping into her words. "For now, tell me the extent of this girl's power so I can plan for her accordingly."
Amon's eyes flashed before he placed a device on the table. He started tinkering with the disc before handing it to the woman, letting her see for herself. The High Priestess paused, seeing his actions, and looked at Amon for a second.
