Chapter 177: New Clothes

He washed in slow, tender movements—over Riven’s collarbones, down his arms, over the curve of his back.

His fingers brushed through Riven’s hair next, combing out the tangles with water and patience, each stroke quiet and comforting.

"Say something," Soren murmured, breaking the silence. Since he was awake, he might as well speak.

"Nah, I’m enjoying this treatment from you." Riven smiled cheekily as ever.

Soren was relieved that Riven still remained spirited, he thought he had gone too far, but he seemed fine.

He lifted a small wooden bowl of clean water and poured it slowly over Riven’s hair, watching it flow down his shoulders and ripple through the bath. Riven’s lips parted slightly, eyes fluttering shut again. The tension in his muscles slowly began to melt.

He took one look at Soren and muttered, "Won’t you get hard again if you go on like this? I am not ready for round 2." Riven shook his head vigorously on purpose. The water droplets scattered, and some of them fell on Soren.

"I have ways to deal with it, you don’t have to worry about it." He pinched Riven’s nose before wiping off the water on his face.

"Eh, but why do you have to deal with it alone when I’m here? It is my purpose in life!" Riven declared proudly. For what was he living for if not to seduce and capture hot men?

Annoyed, Soren flicked Riven’s forehead hard. "You’re worth more to me than that. Stop talking about yourself like you’re a sex worker."

I mean... I basically am, but okay. Riven thought not to voice out his thoughts.

Riven leaned back with a relaxed sigh as Soren drained the bath, the last of the warm water swirling away. His damp hair clung to his forehead, cheeks flushed from the heat.

"Hey, Soren," he said playfully, voice lighter now, "you sure you’re not going to join me in here? I’d make room."

Soren raised a brow, amused. "You just got clean. I’m not about to undo all that work."

"Such a shame," Riven grinned, stretching his arms behind his head, water dripping from his fingertips. "I was starting to enjoy being pampered. I might get used to this royal treatment."

"You already act like a prince," Soren teased, grabbing a thick towel from the chair nearby.

"Can you blame me?" Riven said with a wink. "You spoil me."

Soren carefully helped him up, wrapping the soft towel around his shoulders.

"Of course," Soren said, pulling Riven close to rub the towel gently over his hair.

He stood still as Soren dried him off, eyes watching his movements closely.

Soren paused as he knelt, drying Riven’s legs and ankles, then looked up with a rare, crooked smile. "You’re staring again."

"Can you blame me?" Riven purred. "You look dangerously good shirtless."

Soren ignored that comment and continued doing what he was doing.

Once he was dry, Soren helped him into a fresh shirt—soft cotton, one of Soren’s own—and a pair of loose pants. Everything smelled like sandalwood, Riven loved it.

As Soren buttoned the shirt, he said, "Let’s go shopping tomorrow. Clothes, any other items you want, let’s get them all."

Riven watched his hands with an affectionate gaze. He didn’t hear anything Soren said.

"Riven?" Soren called out again, seeing that he was distracted.

Riven leaned up and kissed his cheek. "I missed you."

"I know," Soren said quietly, wrapping an arm around his waist and pulling him in. "I missed you too."

He lifted Riven easily and carried him toward the bed, settling him against the pillows like he was something fragile and precious. Riven wiggled under the covers with a little hum of delight, already looking like he belonged there.

Soren sat beside him, and Riven tugged at his wrist.

"Lie down with me?"

Of course, he was free this entire week. He was not going anywhere.

Soren didn’t hesitate. The moment he slid under the blanket, Riven curled into his side, pressing his nose against Soren’s collarbone.

"Mmm," he mumbled, already sounding drowsy but warm.

After spending the entire day in bed, doing nothing but enjoying each other’s company and cuddling, the next morning arrived.

Riven stirred with a little sigh, his face scrunching adorably as he buried it deeper into Soren’s bare chest.

"Mmm... warm," he mumbled, nuzzling closer, arms wrapping tightly around Soren’s waist like he had no plans of letting go. He opened his mouth wide and bit onto Soren’s pecs, making him wake up too.

"Morning," Soren said quietly.

With a dramatic sigh, Riven flopped onto his back beside him. "So, what’s the plan today? More cuddling? Breakfast in bed? Kisses? All of the above?"

Soren chuckled, sitting up and pulling the covers with him. "Actually, I’m taking you shopping."

Riven blinked. "Shopping?"

"I told you yesterday, we are going shopping. We need to get you clothes."

"Nah, I just want to wear yours." Riven was lazy, he did not want to go out!

Soren stood and reached for a robe, tying it loosely around his waist. "As much as I would like that, you need clothes that fit."

"Clothes aren’t needed for the things we had planned, though!" Riven rolled on the bed, unwilling to get up.

"Riven..." Soren shook his head. As tempting as Riven’s words were, he needed to be the adult here.

Once Riven cleaned up and dressed—after Soren helped pick out an outfit, naturally—they stepped out into the market district. Riven’s eyes lit up immediately.

It was not like what they had seen in the wolf clan, where things were more town-like with street vendors and rustic charm. This place looked like it was for the elites. It was more polished. He felt like he was in a luxury mall.

Sleek, polished, and high-end. Storefronts of glass and polished wood lined a long promenade, with soft live music playing.

Each boutique had minimalist displays, some showing tailored suits, others shimmering accessories and coats with real gemstone embellishments.

The Snow Leopard clan really loved luxury... Or maybe just Soren.
