Chapter 188: Take It Off

Riven awoke to the soft rustle of silk and the faint scent of jasmine. Being treated like Royalty was amazing indeed.

As his eyes fluttered open, he was greeted by the sight of several women attending to him. They had warm tan skin that glowed under the sunlight. Each was adorned with intricate golden jewellery that shimmered with every movement. Their attire was equally luxurious—flowing fabrics of deep crimson and royal blue.

Riven blinked, even the servants were dressed in luxury.

Riven couldn’t help but be amused. The extravagance was almost overwhelming. He appreciated beauty in all its forms, and these women were undeniably beautiful. But, he did not swing that way, so all that beauty was wasted on him.

As he sat up, the women moved gracefully around him, adjusting pillows and offering refreshments. It was well and all but where was the main character?

He scanned the room, searching for a familiar face. Where was Leon? Tsk tsk, servants can’t sleep in, Riven planned to teach him discipline.

"Where’s Leon?" he asked, his voice still husky from sleep.

The women exchanged uneasy glances, their hands pausing mid-motion. One of them, slightly braver than the rest, stepped forward hesitantly.

"My lord, His Highness is... Resting. We didn’t wish to disturb him." Of course, they would not. Why would they? They would not dare to offend their king. Even if he did not have his title right now, he would get it back eventually. They needed to tread carefully.

Riven raised an eyebrow. "Resting? Isn’t it his duty to attend to me?"

The women looked at each other, clearly uncomfortable.

Understanding dawned on Riven. He sighed, he was not about to make it hard for these poor, beautiful woman. He was going to wake him up himself.

He swung his legs over the side of the bed, the cool marble floor sending a shiver up his spine. He needed house slippers. The women bowed and stepped back, allowing him to pass.

The walls were adorned with intricate tapestries, and golden chandeliers hung from the high ceilings, casting a warm glow throughout the halls. He hadn’t explored the palace, and everything was new to him.

It was quite grand, subtlety really wasn’t their thing.

Eventually, he reached Leon’s room, a grand master bedroom.

The door was slightly open, and Riven pushed it open quietly. Inside, the room was bathed in soft morning light filtering through sheer curtains. Leon lay sprawled on a plush bed, his chest rising and falling in a steady rhythm. He was dressed in a silk robe that had slipped open slightly, revealing his well-defined abs and toned physique.

Riven smiled evilly before quietly entering the room.

His beautiful blond hair was scattered on the soft pillow, it looked like strands of gold, so beautiful. And his expression was serene, like he was experiencing a dreamless sleep. Considering he was worked tirelessly the day before, massaging an ungrateful, greedy and cocky wolf.

Riven paused, taking in the sight. Leon looked like a painting come to life, a vision of tranquility and grace. The thought crossed Riven’s mind: "He looks like Sleeping Beauty." The comparison was apt, though Riven had no intention of kissing him awake.

He stepped closer, leaning over Leon’s sleeping form. "Wakey wakey," he whispered softly, his breath brushing against Leon’s ear.

Leon mumbled incoherently, shifting slightly but not waking.

Riven smirked. "You will regret it if you don’t wake up immediately," he sang playfully.

Leon groaned, burying his face deeper into the pillow. "Who dares to disturb this king’s sleep?" he muttered, his voice thick with sleep and irritation.

Undeterred, Riven reached out and gently poked Leon’s cheek. "You will regret it~" he repeated, his tone teasing.

Leon stirred, his eyes fluttering open to reveal a striking mix of amber and blue. He blinked, focusing on Riven’s face hovering above him. His expression shifted from confusion to annoyance.

Before he could voice his displeasure, Riven grinned mischievously. "Welcome to hell," he declared.

Leon stared at him for a moment, processing the words. "What are you doing here?!"

Riven stood up and arrogantly placed his hands on his hips, "The question is, why aren’t you up and serving me. Chop chop, get ready for work." Without giving Leon a chance to protest, Riven left the room.

Leon sat up abruptly, he was still very sleepy. He did not want to leave the bed, but his mother’s words rang in his ears. He would not get his title back if he did not get that damned wolf’s approval.

His amber-blue eyes narrowed in irritation. The audacity of Riven to wake him in such a manner was infuriating. He swung his legs over the side of the bed, the cool marble floor grounding him as he stood. He couldn’t afford to let his annoyance show, he needed his title back. Once he was king again... That cocky half-wolf would pay.

He strode to his wardrobe, selecting an ensemble befitting his royal status: a robe of deep crimson silk, embroidered with golden threads and adorned with precious gems. The fabric shimmered in the morning light, it was the epitome of luxury.

He dressed swiftly, the familiar weight of the garments a comfort. With a final glance in the mirror, he adjusted his collar and made his way to Riven’s chambers.

The doors to his room stood open, a deliberate slight that Leon didn’t miss. Riven was so arrogant and so infuriating. He wished he could torture that man. He needed to control his temper for now.

With long strides, Leon entered Riven’s room. Riven sat casually on the comfortable bed, waiting for Leon’s arrival.

Riven looked up, he enjoyed the sight before him but- that attire would be comfortable for the tasks he had prepared for Leon.

"Leon, what are you wearing?" Riven’s tone was laced with condescension.

Leon raised an eyebrow, feigning ignorance. "My royal attire, as befits my station." He did not have his title, but he refused to live like a commoner. He will wear his royal attire.

"Take it off."
