Hero Hack: Reversing Heroes and Raising Harem-Chapter 94: Congratulations, Karven
Chapter 94: Congratulations, Karven
Zain exhaled, his smoking pistol still faintly warm in his hand.
He didn’t even glance at Karven’s motionless body.
Instead, he looked over his shoulder.
"Velra."
She stood at attention behind the wreckage, eyes fixed on him.
"Bring your little team here."
Velra bowed her head.
"Yes, Master."
She turned and walked over toward both Rynka and Drayv.
Rynka groaned and sat up, clutching her ribs.
"Tch... feels like a truck hit me..."
Drayv leaned back against a slab of broken concrete.
His rock skin chipping from the impact.
"That guy’s not human..."
Velra approached without expression.
She stopped just in front of them, arms crossed.
"Get up."
Rynka looked up at her, eyes squinting.
"So that’s it, huh? You’re proud now?"
Velra didn’t respond.
Rynka spat blood to the side.
"You really sold yourself to him..."
"I chose him," Velra corrected.
"There’s a difference."
Drayv chuckled darkly.
"And what, we’re supposed to bow now?"
"You want us to kiss your collar next?"
Velra stepped forward.
Her boot pressed lightly against Drayv’s chest.
"I want you to move. Now."
Drayv growled, but he got up.
Rynka wobbled to her feet, coughing.
"He’s insane."
"Your ’Master’ nearly killed Karven like it was nothing."
Velra met her eyes. "Exactly."
They stared at her, unsure whether to attack again or just collapse.
Velra turned and began walking back toward Zain.
Not bothering to check if they followed.
"You’re both still breathing," she said without turning.
"That’s his generosity."
Drayv scoffed. "Some damn generosity..."
Rynka muttered, "We should’ve let you die in BC-4..."
Velra stopped mid-step.
She turned slowly, her eyes cold.
"You couldn’t. You wouldn’t. And now—"
She gestured toward Zain, who stood waiting with one arm missing.
"—You see what real strength looks like."
She turned back.
"Now move."
They followed.
Not out of loyalty.
But out of fear.
---
Rynka and Drayv knelt on the cracked pavement.
Zain sat casually on Karven’s back, one leg crossed over the other.
Karven was still conscious—but barely.
His body trembled beneath Zain’s weight.
"Not bad for a failed uprising," Zain said, amused.
"You three really thought you could punish my property?"
He glanced at Velra, who stood to his right, arms folded.
She watched her former teammates without an ounce of sympathy.
Rynka looked up, eyes burning.
"You think this is over?"
Zain tilted his head.
"Oh, it’s over. You’re kneeling, and I’m sitting."
Drayv growled low in his throat.
Zain smiled and leaned forward slightly.
kicking Drayv hard in the chest.
The big man grunted, stumbling back onto one hand.
His rocky skin cracked further from the impact.
Rynka’s fists clenched.
"He’s down! What the hell is that for?!"
"Disrespect,"
Zain said casually, resting his chin on one fist.
"That’s what it looks like when you forget who you’re kneeling to."
Drayv stood again, breathing hard, shaking with anger.
"You—"
He snarled, his voice trembling.
But before he could finish, Zain stood.
He stepped forward and gripped Drayv by the throat.
Hard Grip.
Zain’s fingers locked around Drayv’s thick, rock-armored neck.
Drayv struggled. Kicked. Clawed.
"You talk big," Zain muttered, tightening the pressure.
Karven, still under Zain’s boot, lifted his head weakly.
"No... you don’t..."
Zain didn’t respond.
He just smiled—calm, merciless.
CRACK.
The sound echoed like a snapped tree trunk.
Drayv’s body went limp.
Zain dropped the lifeless corpse with one hand.
The heavy body hit the stone like a sack of meat.
No resistance left in it.
Rynka stared, eyes wide.
"No... no, no, no—"
Zain looked at her, still smiling.
"He forgot his place."
Rynka fell silent, her mouth trembling.
Sweat trailing down her face.
Zain turned back and sat down again on Karven.
"Now," he said coldly. "Who’s next?"
Rynka trembled where she knelt.
Her eyes darted between Drayv’s lifeless body and Zain’s smirking face.
"No... no, no, no," she whispered.
She dropped to her elbows, lowering her head to the dirt.
"I—I can be like Velra," she pleaded, her voice shaking.
"I can be your slave too. I’ll obey."
"I’ll follow—just don’t kill me."
Zain didn’t answer immediately.
But someone else did.
Velra stepped forward.
Her expression was blank, but her eyes were sharp.
"Master already has one."
Before Rynka could respond, Velra moved.
She struck with Blade Trace.
Her kick severed the Rynka’s neck instantly.
The girl’s body collapsed.
Her head separated cleanly from her shoulders.
Velra’s Blade Trace activated, blood leaving no stain.
She stepped back, composed.
"No one gets to serve Master except me."
She pointed at herself.
"I am the only one."
Zain raised an eyebrow.
Velra didn’t flinch.
She bowed her head toward him.
"I’m his slave, his toy, his only. No one else gets to kneel.
Zain’s voice then dropped.
"Velra."
She immediately froze.
"Don’t move unless I tell you to."
Velra lowered her head instantly.
"I’m sorry, Master."
There was a pause.
Then she looked up slightly and gave a sly smile.
"...You can punish me later."
Zain sighed and shook his head.
But a corner of his mouth curled up.
"You’re insane."
Velra tilted her head.
"Only for you."
Zain leaned back again on Karven, now groaning faintly.
He exhaled slowly.
"The trash has been sorted." freēwēbηovel.c૦m
Then he added with a smirk, "And now... let’s burn the trash."
Karven gritted his teeth, barely able to lift his head.
"Damn you two..."
His glare locked on Velra.
"You... you really betrayed us."
"Betrayed me."
"You killed your own teammates—people who bled beside you!"
Velra stepped forward, arms folded.
"Don’t be stupid."
Karven’s eyes widened.
Velra smirked.
"You talk about ’teammates’ and ’family’..."
"But we both know what it really was."
Zain raised an eyebrow, intrigued.
"I’ve always known," Velra continued.
"You didn’t take me in because you cared."
"You picked me up off the street because I was a woman waiting to be molded."
Karven growled. "That’s not—"
"You never saw me as a teammate," she snapped.
"Just a child you could groom into something that obeyed you."
Her smile darkened.
"And don’t think I didn’t notice the way you looked at me once I grew older."
Karven froze.
Zain glanced at Velra and gave a satisfied nod.
"Looks like I picked the right one after all."
