Chapter 151 - Burning Skies II

(Third Person POV)

Baelon looked over to the distant sky, seeing that the clouds were emitting flames and lightning, "W-What is this?!" He exclaimed, "Drakken!!"

"You best be quick if you want to be a Hero, Baelon." Drakken said with a smirk, "Grayle is an unstoppable force of nature, he will destroy Driftmark. But first...those Essosi ships. Consider this a favor; Jocelyn and Aenys were Maegelle's kin after all."

Baelon glared at Drakken, "Y-You....!!"

Drakken tapped the top of his wrist, "Tick Tock....." He mocked, "Time is of the essence..."

Baelon then looked over to the distance, seeing that the burning skies were encroaching. There was a loud howling of the wind, a serious chill began to creep on both Baelon and Alyssa who watched the entire thing.

Maegelle was also watching this, her eyes widened, "G-Grayle...."

She had a quick flash of memory, back to Harrenhal's basement level where Drakken kept his experiments. She remembered the massive black dragon head that opened its eyes to glare at her. She remembered that Drakken called it Grayle, and even now, she felt the overwhelming feeling of dread and fear. By simply remembering that moment, she could not help but stay frozen completely. She could not comprehend what was about to happen, what this meant.

Grayle was released, and Drakken had told her that he was the end of everything.

She gulped, looking up at Drakken, who slowly descended to the ground, "This...."

She wanted to tell Drakken to stop, to keep him from destroying everything. She knew that she had some influence on his demeanor for the past few years, softening him up completely. She was aware of that, and it could be stated that she has used it to her advantage, sparing who knows how many lives from death, from Drakken.

But right now, she was unsure if it would work. There was something different in her, something that held her back.

Perhaps it was due to the scare that she got when she wholeheartedly believed that Drakken was going to die.

At that moment, she could not bring herself to speak up against this action; against Drakken's wish for destruction.

Drakken landed on the ground as Balerion began to take off into flight, a serious growl reverberating through the air.

Drakken glanced at Maegelle, "Watch."

Those simple words prompted Maegelle to step closer to Drakken, reaching for his hand and grabbing it gently.

Drakken looked at her hand, showing no reaction to this.

"M-My Lord...." Maegelle said simply

A slight smirk appeared on Drakken, "Good girl."

Over to the Blackwater Bay, where several ships were locked in naval combat, the burning skies loomed over them, powerful bolts of lighting shot down and struck the waters, causing massive explosions of steam.

There was a loud growling that filled the air, which did not belong to Balerion. The Essosi on their ships realized this and looked up, seeing that the burning clouds housed a massive and dark shadow that approached them.

They then looked to the side and saw the massive figure of Balerion flapping his wings and making his way towards them.

It was clear to the Essosi; they were to met their end that day. They knew that they had sunk an important ship and those that were involved were burned by the Targaryens. And now, there was two imminent dangers that was about to devastate them.

But it was not Balerion. fгeewebnovёl.com

The air was filled by a loud and deafening roar, one that would be heard all throughout the Blackwater and the capital. A roar so loud that it shook the bones of everyone that heard it, struck fear right into them, keeping them frozen in place. This roar was that of a dragon's, but not one that they imagined. It did not belong to a Targaryen dragon, it belonged to something more sinister than that.

Above them, the clouds burst open, yellow lightning crackling all around the air as a massive figure emerged.

The Essosi and even the Westerosi looked up to see a dragon looking down at them with menacing crimson eyes.

The beast was massive, almost as large as Balerion, with dark grey scales that had a bit of black coloring to them. Its head had two horns that curved downwards, almost like a ram's. It's two crimson eyes glowed brightly, filled with hatred and rage as its maw was slightly opened, revealing its silver teeth.

While this dragon was almost the size of Balerion and imposing, there was something about it that was far more menacing than Balerion and Vhagar combined.

It was on fire.

More importantly, it had open wounds and a missing leg that had bright red flames raging from them, trailing backwards.

It had three wounds on its chest, one on its neck, two on its right wing, and one on its leg. All said wounds were burning.

Its right leg was missing, a massive pillar of flames replacing it.

Despite this "weakened" state, the dragon was still a frightening sight.

This was Grayle, one of Drakken's W.M.Ds.

Wyverns of Mass Destruction.

Creations born from Drakken's Calamity, meant to rival his True Dragons in terms of power. Grayle was one of three W.M.Ds that Drakken had created in his life on Infernis. And of all three Wyverns, Grayle was probably the angriest.

Grayle let out a roar as he flew over the fleet of ships, his roar emitting a powerful shockwave of lightning.

The lightning struck the waters, hitting some ships and causing explosions.

But if that was not enough, above Grayle as he flew over them, massive balls of flames fell from the clouds, covered in lightning. The fireballs hit the waters, causing massive explosions of flames and lightning that dwarfed the ships and completely obliterated any ship that was caught in them.

In a mere sweep, Grayle had casually destroyed the fleet of ships that were fighting. The explosions were powerful enough to create massive waves, the heat was enough to make the seas boiling, and any fish-life in it was unable to handle the effects.

Baelon saw this creature flying in the distance, "What is that.....?" He said, "Its not like the Storm one...."

Grayle then turned around and flapped his wings, letting out another roar that shook the air. He proceeded to fly back into the burning clouds, changing course.

Baelon noticed this, "Shit!" He said, "He's heading for Driftmark!!"

"Balerion, Fly!"

Balerion let out a roar and flapped his wings, picking up his speed as he began the pursuit.

Over to where Drakken and the others were, Maegelle was simply taken aback.

"An instant...." She said softly, "Hundreds.....dead..."

Drakken nodded, "Pretty insane, right?" He said, "He's still incomplete, technically. He's missing a few pieces."

Alyssa looked at Drakken, "Y-You.....!!' She started, "You fiend!!"

"Fiend?" Drakken said, "Tsk tsk, little girl....."

"You know what I am."
