I Am Tired Of Being A Hero-Chapter 175: Shout so more
Chapter 175: Shout so more
"Ravi. We need to leave this place before it blows. We have less than ten minutes to kill the mutant."
This was Nyxoria. Ravi could recall coming here around fifty thousand years ago, purple firebirds, water drop flowers, and now what remained of such a beautiful green planet was this person walking towards them. The planet had researched just a little too much about power and the consequence had been more than they can bear.
Their mission was to completely eradicate the last monster of this planet. The Sentinels Tech department had already completed a device that could blow the planet to smithereens but they did not know the capabilities of these monsters in front of them. If it survives the attack and ventures off to another planet, the result would be catastrophic, it would infect them all and another Nyoxria would emerge.
As for Ravi and the Sentinels next to him, the amount of points they would lose would be enough for them to return to the common room and the maize-like gruel they called a meal.
The silhouette of the mutant moved towards them. The creature sluggishly walked out in front of them. It had long hair, long black threadlike hair that reached the ground. On the right half of its body from the foot to her face was gray metal armor.
The other left of the creature looked like a patchwork of stitched-together limbs and torso, each part salvaged from a different corpse. The skin was a purple color with visible sutures and staples holding the various pieces together.
It walked while dragging its left foot and tilting its head to the right. Its joints cracked and popped, like the sound of old wooden floorboards beneath its feet. Its mouth was a twisted, lipless slit, stained with reddish blood.
It raised both arms as if searching for something, as if longing to reconnect to something.
"I would attack first." Ravi said to the two sentinels in front of him. "If I need help, I will let you know." ƒree𝑤ebnσvel.com
The creature traversed about 20 meters in an instant, appearing in front of Ravi who disappeared, he moved several meters away not before the stone in his hand had turned into a gun and fired several shots at the creature.
Some shots hit the armor on her right side and bounced back, bent entire body akin to a spider as she dodged the remaining bullets.
Ravi did not blink, if bullets could kill it, then he would not be sent here.
"Stay back!" He shouted to the Sentinel behind him who was about to rush into the fight.
He rushed at the creature and they engaged time and time again. Ravi’s cold hazel eyes watched the creature, even in its mindless state, it would protect the part of the body that was most vulnerable.
"Five minutes."
He took out River, the white sword gleamed in the light and Ravi could feel it, like the first day he had gotten the sword, and could feel the atoms bending ever so easily to his will.
He lurched forward, the shadow of the sword slashed through the air, striking in a short range while changing trajectories. Ravi did not target the patched skin but the flawless metal, the sword broke through and in that instant, he condensed his power, sending it coursing through the blade.
Pa!
The beast shattered and Ravi suddenly felt a sharp pain as a blade pierced his back. Ravi just raised an eyebrow, pulling the knife clean through his ribcage, and in the next second, he turned and the white blade sliced the neck of the Sentinel.

Ravi suddenly jumped up, his brows soaked with sweat.
Why? Why? Why would he have this dream at this moment again? He got up to watch his face with cold water.
"There had been no knife. Jonas was just heading over to help him with the kill and he just killed him." The timekeeper had reported and the entire Council had pinned their beady eyes on him.
There was no wound on his body and since the planet had been destroyed, they could not read its memories.
And the thing Ravi had never told anyone was that the timekeeper might be right, he truly did not remember anything. He did not remember a lot of his missions, they had faded into blurs of red and gray.
"He tried to kill me."
"And why would Sentinel Jonas try to kill you while doing a mission? It is to our knowledge that the two of you had never met."
Ravi had looked up, "The mission was worth 21,000 points. Everyone knows that Sentinel Jonas is at the edge of going back to the common room. He was not satisfied with the 70/20/10 share and he wants more. I believe the same desire is shared by the timekeeper. If I am punished, then 21,000 points would go to him alone. Elders, I think the question is why would I kill Sentinel Jonas unprovoked."
He had killed him. Unprovoked. What do you think?
That dream was so clear that it was unreal. Ravi sighed, and shook his head. This was the happiest time of his life, he had no strength for his unresolved mental issues. Hopefully, this dream is a one-time thing.
Ravi walked over to open the window when he saw a car pulled up and Malik stepped out.
He smiled, "You are back?"
Malik tapped his cane, "I believe you owe me something, Ravi."
"The wine?"
"No. The gist. I hear you went on a date yesterday. I take it the Captain is on your bed." His tone was as calm and gentle as ever, causing a red blush to paint Ravi’s cheeks.
"Why don’t you shout it a little more, Malik? Your voice is still too low."
"Okay. The gist. I hear you..." Malik increased his voice while looking up with a light smile on his face.
"Enough. You will wake Asher up."
"I am up. Good morning, Ravi." A voice sounded from the backyard and Ravi sighed. This boy does know that there is no award for the first to wake up from sleep.
He slipped on a top and appeared in the backyard. Sure enough, his ward was in the orchard with a pair of shears, carefully plucking the mangoes.
"I am making smoothies."
"At this rate, your blood would turn to fruit smoothies."
"That would be fun."
"That would be a health crisis. Did you sleep well last night?" Ravi asked as he ruffled Asher’s hair.
"Yes. I slept around ten minutes after ten. Sage and Lana were fighting over who cheated in the game. I won."
"Good boy. And breakfast choice is on you."
Asher stopped what he was doing and turned to Ravi, "How was your date, Ravi?"
"It went great. I enjoyed myself. We will go to the Amusement park this weekend so pick out your clothes in advance."
"Really? With the rides?" Asher left the basket and rushed back into the house, not even waiting for Ravi to reply.
"You are going to spoil him silly." Malik said as he entered the orchard, "May I?"
Ravi washed the Mango and handed it to him, "I think not. I am not the spoiling type."
Malik chuckled, "So how did it go?"
Ravi bit his lips for a second and then began to say everything. It was not like he had any other friend to give this kind of gist.
"A restaurant, a pub and a park. What, couldn’t he make up his mind?"
"Malik." It was a single word and a clear warning.
Malik smiled, and the familiar nudging in Ravi’s mind returned. He did not let him in and he did not kick him out either.
"You truly enjoyed yourself. Have you ever gone on a date before this one?"
"No. Have you? What kind of dates have you gone on?"
Malik was silent, "None."
Ravi’s eyes widened in shock and he turned to the person who was eating the mango so calmly, "Not even one. None at all? What did you and Anouk do?"
Malik chuckled, there was a wistful smile on his smile. One that Ravi understood all too well.
His cheeks turned red and he coughed.
Malik chuckled, "I never told you how Anouk and I met. I had a client and the request was to take down a trafficking ring. Specifically, kill the leader and his enforcers. I was carrying out the mission when Anouk and his team entered, apparently they had also gotten the same intel. So...I pretended to be a drugged little trafficked white rabbit and clung to Anouk. I would faint whenever they tried to ask me questions out of pure fear and so he had to take me home. We couldn’t go on dates with that identity. He was worried that the escaped leader would come for me. Laugh, if you want to.
Ravi burst out laughing, the mirth chasing away the gloom in his heart from the nightmare, "You would faint?"
"You don’t know the worst of it. I had no choice. I had just killed the leader so I needed a fast cover. People, once they have a fixed image of someone, it is very hard to break. To them, the white rabbit that fainted out of fear was harmless."
"That was quiet, true. Ravi nodded.
Malik was quiet for a second and then turned to him, "When Arlen took you out on a date, were you very happy?"
Ravi smiled, "I fell in love with him even more. We had so much fun. It was amazing, Malik. Just amazing."
"That good? Okay, start from the beginning, tell me exactly how the date went, everything."
