Chapter 183: The park

’A plan."

"En. Like a yearly subscription. I love you, Ravi. So much."

He was crazy. Ravi thought hazily, then he buried his face in Arlen’s neck to greedily breathe in that familiar smell. This was how his ’home’ smelled like.

"Okay. I will tell you one now."

There was a stiffening of the body hugging him and Arlen pulled away, "Really?" He paused, and looked around, "Should we go somewhere else?" He looked around the car, "This does not seem adequate enough to discuss your secret. Let us go to Alstria, no, where do you want us to go?"

His nervousness made Ravi’s lips curve. What had he been so afraid of again? It seemed so minuscule. How could he even be more nervous than him? He reached out to hold his hand and he could feel the increased pulse from his wrist.

"Here is fine."

"Wait! You...You are not married, right?" Arlen asked, his voice strained like he did not want to hear the answer at all.

What was he thinking about? "No. I am not married."

Arlen let out a sigh of relief and then tensed up again, "You are not, not like a spy sent by enemies to get me to fall in love with you or like revenge for my father murdering yours and you have to bide your time..."

Ravi moved and kissed him. It was a kiss purely to shut him up before he would start sprouting even more ridiculous play plots. But once his lips touched those lips, Ravi forgot that he intended to shut Arlen up.

The tingles, the thrills, the adrenaline coursing through his veins like he was drunk. It was the breathtaking thrill of standing at the edge of the cliff and staring at the sea and yet knowing, knowing that if you fell, there would be someone there to catch you. It seemed too large to comprehend and yet was so simple. Like a promise.

Ravi kissed him but before he could pull back, Arlen took control, pushing him back so that he lay on his seat, he reached out to grab Ravi’s waist, needing him closer. His move caused a moan to escape from Ravi’s lips, the sound making Arlen kiss him even harder.

It was teeth and tongue and so mind-numbing that Ravi felt like he was drinking a thousand-year-old wine. His lips were caressed over and over again, bitten, sucked and so possessed that it did not seem like it was his anymore.

Arlen moved when the sound of his leg hitting the component beneath the gear. The sound was loud and it broke the hazy spell that Ravi was over and he raised his hand, stopping Arlen.

"You hit your leg."

"Mmh ’’ Arlen’s entire focus was on those swollen lips he swallowed.

"Are you hurt?"

"No. Let’s focus on what we are doing."

"I thought we were meant to share secrets." Ravi was amused, "Arlen!" He called out again and the Police Captain looked away from his lips.

"I am just preparing your lips." He said with a straight face and Ravi was torn between covering his face with his hand or getting down and checking Arlen’s bruise. In the end, he chose the letter and came down, coming over to the driver’s side.

"Pull up your trousers."

"If I knew you wanted me to take off my clothes, I would have done it already, love."

Ravi rolled his eyes and pulled up the trousers himself, the fair skin had already turned red. He bruised easier than Ravi had expected.

"Ravi, it is just a bump." frёeωebɳovel.com

"I know." Ravi said and he took out the cream that Lana had given him and Asher, he had never used it, never had the chance to, it was cool, very cool to the top with a soft gel-like texture, he rubbed it over the bruise.

Arlen almost pulled his leg back, "It is so cold."

Ravi looked up at him, "I am an orphan." He said quietly as he rubbed the gel on the bruise, watching its fast healing effects, the red skin was quickly turning back to its fair color.

"I am an orphan." Ravi said again as he snapped the bottle shot, "The information on my file is wrong. My parents are not soldiers, I don’t know they are. I just know that my father left me in the state hospital. I was not raised by my aunt or uncle, I don’t have any cousins. I was raised by some sisters in the orphanage."

He looked at Arlen who was staring back at him quietly, "Arlen already knew his parents were late so this ’secret’ was the easiest in a way, and at the same time, it was a difficulty, "That means, Asher is not...well, he is not my nephew. But, I love him and he means a lot to me and I would like to raise him till he is an adult. I am sorry, I lied to you before." He did not say anything else about Asher. That was Asher’s secret to keep.

He watched Arlen intently, not wanting to miss anything, any expression on Arlen’s face.

Then something dawned on him, "You knew."

"The two of you did not really do a good job lying that morning. Besides, both the cat and the human had the exact same expression on their face when they saw me and the mannerisms. I would like to think that I am a good detective."

"And yet you couldn’t tell that Lyrics was deceiving the King."

"Hey!"

Ravi smiled and then the smile disappeared, he rubbed his face and stood up, "How much do you know?"

"He is a shapeshifter. He was the one who impersonated me when the Duplicator attacked. You know we interrogated the Ignitor and Poison and they described their last member very well to me. I also know he was a member of the Phantom and he is wanted for more than 10 counts across 5 states."

Ravi’s entire body tensed with every word that left Arlen’s lips.
