I Can Tame Everything!-Chapter 44: King of Myrrhaven! II
Chapter 44 - King of Myrrhaven! II
Why did the Duke do so? It was rather simple. The happier the king became, the better rewards and resources the Duke got.
And who doesn't want resources that make them stronger?
Murmurs that had been muffled before now came in full vigor, and everyone became excited. Some were looking at Rex with greed-filled eyes, as he was that sweet, rare candy their teeth were itching for.
"Interesting. This could very well make our kingdom prosper and thrive, making us the strongest," the king calculated instantly, as he too looked at Rex with possessive eyes.
One thing to note was—no humans or beasts, for that matter, could tell what being a bloodline possessed.
At most, even the oldies or appraisers who worked directly for the throne had their heads scratching on how to appraise the unknown and different types of beasts.
Their only way of appeasing a beast was to note down certain qualities like marks, colors, and habitat. Everything was done through research.
Even the research papers and journals were kept inside the Royal Library, hidden from the common people.
There was simply no sure-shot method to tell if a beast was pureblooded or not.
In simple terms, there are an unknown number of purebloods, while the people were only aware of some famous bloodlines.
That is also the reason why many people possessed similar kinds of purebloods. But with Rex, most of the beasts out there could turn out to be pureblood.
"Your Majesty, I think we should test him," the advisor, seated on the left, suggested, cutting through the murmurs, as everyone agreed with him.
"Certainly," the king affirmed and called out with a wave of his hand. "Come out, Dravion."
Swiftly, a regal lion with silver-black scales along its back, small folding wings, and glowing mane tendrils appeared before everyone, though instead of fear, some gazed at him with curiosity, while others' eyes were filled with envy.
Curious because everyone looked at Rex with anticipation as to how he would appraise and tell his bloodline.
Envy because they knew the beasts at Overlord Rank were much rarer to own, afterall their strength equalled similar to a nation's duke.
Beasts in Foundational Ranks were low in intelligence—that is the reason they were categorized differently.
Such as: Spirit, Noble, and Mystic Rank.
But a beast at Overlord Rank was no different than an adult human in terms of intelligence and strength, so the ranks from here on out were same every specias.
"Rex, enlighten us with this beast's bloodline. What bloodline does my beast have?" the king questioned with mild excitement, as a small smile played at his lips.
Rex's heart pounded as his senses locked onto the Lion-Drake. Who stood 400 meters tall. Every instinct of his screamed to be cautious. The beast's silver eyes seemed to study him just as intently, as if deciding whether Rex was worth the effort. freewёbn૦νeɭ.com
He quickly checked its status while already expecting...

Rex narrowed his eyes at the question marks. A clear sign of the beast being far stronger than him. He swallowed hard, aware of the whispers rising around him.
He could feel the pressure building, the heavy gaze of the King watching from the throne.
With slight hesitation, he looked at the carefree man sitting on the throne with an amused smile and expectant eyes. "Your Majesty, this beast is far stronger than me, and my gifted ability is limited to beasts above 2 stars only," he stated truthfully.
Asselin yelled at him in a suppressed tone. "Stop lying, Rex, and quickly appraise the beast!" he hissed with a glare.
"You're wasting everyone's time." His voice was low but venomous, like a snake ready to strike. Rex flinched, though he tried not to show it.
"I-I'm not lying, Duke Asselin," Rex replied nervously.
"Calm down, Asselin. He is not lying," King Edmund spoke, looking at Asselin.
"Hmmm... So your 'Aspect' is limited by two stars." the king glanced back at Rex and continued.
"Fine then, let's test you on Princess Vivienne's beast," the king said and stood up from his throne. The Lion-Drake vanished from the Royal Hall with the same wave of his hand.
"Your Majesty, forgive my imprudence, but if he's not lying, can we test Rex here by bringing in a beast at a lower rank from one of your subjects?" the Duke suggested, hinting at the court's people.
"No, I want Rex and Vivienne to get acquainted, as they both will be going to the Verdant Abyss Forest. I think this is the perfect opportunity to showcase Rex's Aspect to her," the king rumbled and descended the short staircases.
The Duke nodded and followed behind the king on the left side, while Rex followed from the right. As they left the Royal Hall, after walking for a few minutes, the king led them to a training ground where many people greeted him and the Duke.
When they arrived in an open area, Princess Vivienne had just ended her training with her subordinates and was now drinking some kind of red potion in a vial.
"Vivienne!" the king yelled her name, trying to grab her attention.
Princess Vivienne's gaze moved toward the king, as a beautiful, soft smile began to form on her small lips. "Father," she replied in a gentle and light tone.
Behind her, the subordinates she was training with bowed down slightly after noticing their king.
After drinking from the crimson vial that resembled blood, she placed the vial on a stand that had similar vials—some were full, while some were emptied.
Once she placed the vial, she gracefully walked toward her father, her eyes slightly moving toward the Duke as she gave a curt nod toward him.
Then her gaze moved toward Rex for a brief moment, whose golden eyes matched the shade of her silky hair.
Later, she looked at the king and questioned, "What brings you here, Father?" in a playful tone.
She was just a head above Rex, while the king and Duke were two heads above him. When compared, she looked to be around Darius's height.
"Meet Rex, a talented young man who will be joining your party in the Verdant Abyss Forest. He also has an Aspect like you, and we are here to test it on your beast," the king introduced Rex, who smiled at the princess calmly and gave an acknowledging nod.
"Ohhh, that's nice," she said and paused for a brief moment, her gaze moving towards Arcane perched on his shoulder.
"I'm more interested in that bird," she said, but didn't even glance at Rex. Instead, she looked at her father.
Among the many beast's species that were famous for having a bloodline, Arcane's species was one among them.
Rex, looking at her demeanor, tried to check her status, but all he got were question marks.
Instead, he shook his head and spoke in a steady voice, "Your Majesty, I heard Princess Vivienne also has a gifted ability."
