Chapter 453: Chapter 436: Golden Mine

Besides Space Equipment, there were also the Skill Books from Mu Ying, potions and gemstones from Li Luoxia, and Inscriptions from Edwin, each of which Draco coveted immensely.

However, the items of value that he could convert from his Trial World were too few.

After much hesitation and racking his brains, he finally listed the items he thought had some value, including the Source Power needed for conversion.

By the time he had written everything down and pushed the list forward, Mu Ying and the other two gathered around curiously to look, and then they were dumbfounded.

"1. Eternal Mine Lamp: A mine lamp that shines forever with a wide range of illumination, priced at 100 Source Power.

2. Eternal Small Mining Pick: A small mining pickaxe that will never break and can extract ore, priced at 50 Source Power.

3. Super Large Rice Ball: A large rice ball that can sustain three days of heavy labor and energy consumption, priced at 20 Source Power.

4. Super Medium Rice Ball: A medium rice ball that can sustain two days of heavy labor and energy consumption, priced at 15 Source Power.

5. Super Small Rice Ball: A small rice ball that can sustain one day of heavy labor and energy consumption, priced at 10 Source Power.

6. Large Gold Ore: A large piece of pure gold ore, priced at 60 Source Power.

7. Medium Gold Ore: A medium-sized piece of pure gold ore, priced at 30 Source Power.

8. Small Gold Ore: A small piece of pure gold ore, priced at 10 Source Power."

The quantity of products on the list was reasonable, but the quality left much to be desired, seemingly rather useless.

Mu Ying understood why Draco had been so miserable in the wasteland.

"Brother, are you joking?" Edwin couldn’t believe it; he had no desire whatsoever for these items.

"Don’t you want any of them? The Eternal Mine Lamp is very useful! The rice balls also taste great! Although the mining pickaxe is a bit small, it doesn’t wear out! I can even give you a discount!" Draco still held onto hope. If it weren’t for the mine lamp and rice balls, his time wandering would have been even more miserable.

"Isn’t the Eternal Mine Lamp the same as Mu Ying’s Permanent Light Lantern Vine? We already have those, and the rest don’t have much practical value." Edwin patted Draco sympathetically, "Don’t worry, even though you are poorer than I am, we still have to dream of becoming rich!"

Draco: "..."

That was it, his dream of a hundred Storage Pouches was shattered.

He had nothing to hide anymore, so he explained his Trial World in detail.

His Trial World was named Golden Mine.

Once inside, it was a pitch-black underground mine. Every day, gold ore and regular stones would respawn in the mine, and he needed to extract a certain quantity of gold ore or regular stones within that day to earn points.

Reaching different point tiers would grant varying amounts of Gold Coin rewards, which could be converted to Source Power on a 1:1 ratio.

Gold Coins could also be used to purchase mining pickaxes, mine lamps, and food necessary to maintain the energy of the Trialist character, which were the Super Rice Balls, in the stone shop of the mine.

According to Draco, the amount of Gold Coins he earned from mining each day was around 25.

"My Trial World is too barren; if only I could trade in Source Power directly!" Draco sighed. He had plenty of Source Power, but lacked sufficiently attractive physical items to convert.

"That depends on Mu Ying," Edwin said.

"Can you really transfer Source Power?" Draco asked in surprise.

Mu Ying shook her head. Draco was too honest. He had explained everything about his Trial World in great detail, not leaving her any chance to trade questions for information. Out of the rules of the trial she had grasped, she didn’t have the heart to keep any more secrets.

"According to what I’ve heard, after opening the Third Trial World, it becomes possible to transfer Source Power, but I still have a way to go before I can complete my Second Trial World. I can’t estimate exactly when that will be," Mu Ying said.

"But you shouldn’t feel bad about your Trial World being barren. My first Trial World is similar to yours; there are very few items with physical transformation value. On the other hand, it makes it easier for us to obtain Source Power, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing.

There are two ways to open a new Trial World: one is to achieve a 100% exploration rate, and the other is to accumulate a certain amount of Source Power.

Based on our estimates, opening a Second Trial World should require an accumulation of 5000 Source Power, and the Third Trial World 50000. Perhaps there are few items of value to convert in your Trial World, but your speed of gaining Source Power should be a bit faster than Edwin’s and Li Luoxia’s. Maybe you’ll open the Second Trial World quicker."

This was all new information to Draco. He glanced at his Player Manual’s trial interface: "My accumulated Source Power is now 4432, but I only have a balance of 1332 left, as I converted too many rice balls."

"Hiss!" Edwin gasped. He no longer pitied Draco: "That much? I’ve been a trialist much longer than you, and I’ve only accumulated 4000 so far!"

"I’m worse off; just 3000," Li Luoxia sighed. Her Tower World was filled with treasure, but Source Power was scarce. "It seems Draco will be the second to open the Second Trial World!"

Draco did some calculations: "Does this mean I can reach the accumulated 5000 in just over a month?"

Excluding the rice ball expenses the trial characters needed to consume daily, he had a net income of about fifteen Gold Coins a day, which translated to 15 points of Source Power.

"Perhaps you can help us verify whether 5000 points of accumulated Source Power is the threshold for opening the Second Trial World," Mu Ying said.

Draco then realized that Mu Ying’s statement was not definite, but hadn’t she already opened her Second Trial World?

Mu Ying noticed his confusion: "My Second Trial World was opened perfectly through achieving 100% exploration rate."

Edwin explained to him how to judge exploration rates and the benefits of attaining perfect exploration.

Draco reflected on his trial process: "To achieve a perfect exploration rate in my case, I should reach a daily mining coin reward of 100. That means emptying all of the refreshed mine tunnels within the allocated time."

He was only at 25 now; there was still a long way to go. He had been stuck at 25 for some time, with very slow progress.

Compared to reaching a 100% exploration rate, saving up enough Source Power to draw a new Trial World seemed more profitable.

The group combined their knowledge of their own first Trial Worlds and found that everyone’s worlds had their own strengths and weaknesses; they were actually quite balanced.

Either they were geared towards high physical transformation value, or they made it easier to gain Source Power.

Li Luoxia and Edwin fell into the former category, while Mu Ying and Draco belonged to the latter.

Mu Ying’s Square World did have some items with physical transformation value, but the trial characters were constantly at risk of losing their lives, such as from the ever-present rotten corpses and the continuous depletion of their energy value every night.

Draco’s Golden Mine world, on the other hand, had even fewer items of physical transformation value compared to Mu Ying’s, yet it was completely free of danger.
