I transmigrated and got a husband and a son!-Chapter 1220: Ingrate
Chapter 1220: Ingrate
"Where the hell is Dominic Zhu?"
There was just something in Hera’s voice that made the air turn still. For a second, the air in the hallway stopped circulating, eyes on the demoness coming back to life.
Now, they didn’t know why they were so worried about when she was better off sleeping.
Elliot and even Lukas couldn’t help but hold their breaths.
One moment, Dominic was marching to Hera’s ward as if he wanted to make sure she would stay sleeping! And now, like a demon sensing the danger, woke up from her slumber! What a horrible timing!
Hera squinted her eyes as she glanced at the people’s faces. She instantly winced and pinched the bridge of her nose.
"Why... am I seeing these ugly faces right now?" she mumbled with disappointment, earning a disgusted look from the reapers.
"Why am I out here, worrying about her in the first place when I know I’d only get insulted?" Tiger’s face turned sour, looking at ungrateful Hera.
"Hera, you are so shameless!" Joker jumped from his seat, pointing at her accusingly. "How can you call us ugly the moment you see us?! Can’t you see we’re all here for you?!"
Primo nodded and pointed at the door behind her. "Get back inside and fix this."
"No way!" Hera roared, feeling like she only woke up just to be criticized by them. She didn’t even consider her comment as the spark igniting this growing flames.
"Hera, you might be a patient, but you’re lucky you didn’t end up handicapped!" Joker criticized while pointing at Primo. "So, insulting a handicap like this guy still makes you a jerk!"
Primo scrunched up his nose. Why was he being used here to make a point? Weren’t they on the same side?
"Can you not stress the patient?" Moose leaned his side against the wall, arms crossed, her charts still in his hand. "Why are you still fighting when this is just a matter of who is the ugliest?"
Ram and Wolf chuckled. Hearing this banter only meant everyone was fine. Though physically, they weren’t sure about their mental state. They’ve always thought there were missing screws in their heads.
"I knew it." Unlike the others who were criticizing Hera the ingrate, Fig’s aura was gloomy. "First, I was called a rogue and now, an ugly. I knew it. I need to starve and slim down."
Only when Hera heard Fig did she soften up.
How could she hurt Fig’s feelings?
"Fine!" she grumbled, taking a step back and closing the door.
After a second, Hera opened the door once more and gazed at everyone outside her room. She wanted to fix her tone, but all she could do was scrunch up her nose. She deadpanned, closing her eyes as she looked away.
These faces weren’t the ones she wanted to see.
Before she could even wake up, she was dreaming about Dominic all this time. Those dark eyes that looked like the milky way, sucking anyone who would stare at them. His naturally thick and perfectly shaped brows, his high nose, those luscious thin lips, and that jaw that could slice anything at the touch if not careful.
Oh, what a beautiful and majestic beauty.
How could these guys compare?
"Goodness." Joker clicked his tongue continuously. "Is it really that hard to look at us?"
Primo was also in disbelief. "Had you always endured looking at our faces all this time?"
"This girl..." Tiger was disappointed. "She can’t even hide her dismay."
"Her thoughts are written all over her face," Fig commented, his ears drooping. "At least, she tried."
"I feel sad for them," Ram sighed helplessly, earning a look from Wolf.
"Are you sure you’re not one of the people that she had to endure looking?"
Ram’s smile disappeared as he gazed at Wolf.
As for Lukas, Elliot, Dominic, and Axel, they could only watch this ridiculous conversation unfold.
Just now, Hera’s aura was truly akin to a devil who successfully crawled its way out of the surface of the Earth. But alas, the members of the reapers didn’t seem to feel that and started berating her. Although she eventually gave in despite just waking up, the natural commanding aura exuding from her lingered in the air.
She still seemed unapproachable, but watching her interact with the reapers incited envy.
Only those close to her could be just as relaxed as the reapers.
Elliot and Lukas were too far away to even have such a strong friendship with her. They only fought together once, but the reapers had been with her through many ups and downs.
While Elliot and Lukas tried to process their emotions, Axel couldn’t help but smirk.
’This is my sister!’ he cheered as he could feel the same aura he felt from Heaven. Her nonsense gave him a sense of familiarity. ’Also, served them right. My sis only has my back!’
Dominic, on the other hand, just quietly stared at her suffer at the faces she was seeing. If only she would turn her head, she would see him. But he was not in a hurry. He took this moment to absorb this situation — this reality.
The first time he met her in Hera’s body, it didn’t end well for them. It wretched their hearts and he thought it would take a miracle to be with her again. But even with everything that had happened in between, he missed her every beat of his heart. His longing for her grew deeper at every second and now that she was just a few meters from her, he wanted to cherish this moment.
’Thank God,’ he heaved a sigh of relief, his eyes softening until tears coated them.
At that moment, Hera regained all her sharp senses and caught a pair of eyes intently gazing at her. When she turned, she immediately locked eyes with those eyes.
"I told you..." she muttered, taking big strides toward him.
She told him repeatedly, even when they were children. She didn’t like it when he was crying. And even though he hadn’t shed tears yet, she knew that look in his eyes.
The corner of his lips curled up subtly, taking a step to welcome her into his embrace. Suddenly, two figures jumped in front of him.
