Chapter 121: Green forest on the head.

Mo Tian’s reasoning was simple, the father-son relationship depended on how big Chenyu’s crime was. If he was guilty of a crime like treason or murder, it was best to cut ties and removed Chenyu from the family register.

Chen Shanhe could not tell if Mo Tian was trying to be a clown or her was actually serious. What he did know was that the man’s way of answering questions was irritating. "I will change my question then, are you Mo Chenyu’s registered father on his birth certificate?"

"Yes." Mo Tian answered, reluctantly. "But I have nothing to do with his crimes. I want to make this very clear."

"That is still left to see." Chen Shanhe replied. "What job does your son do?"

"He...." Mo Tian moved his eyes around...."Mmmm...." he continued looking for the answer. Chenyu did a lot of things and his exact job was not clear. "He trades stocks and he has a shop that sells phones. He is a business man."

"Have you ever been to his shop or..."

"Ah, detective why are you asking me all these questions? Chenyu is a grown up, how he makes his money is his business. I have told you all I know, leave me alone and go question someone else." Mo Tian stood up, raising his voice because he was clearly agitated. "I know my rights, I don’t have to answer your questions."

"You don’t have to answer my questions but when this investigation is concluded and you are found to be involved in any way, you will not be given a second chance to exonerate yourself. The punishment for the crimes which your son is being accused of will result in one of two sentences. Twenty to thirty years in prison, a life sentence or death." Chen Shanhe warned Mo Tian.

Confidently. he even closed the small notebook to show him that their conversation had come to an end.

"Wait-wait-wait, Mo Tian sat back down again, holding his hands out. I did not say that I am unwilling to listen to the questions and answer a few." He raised his voice, looking around, "I am not guilty of any crimes Mo Chenyu is involved in. He is not a filial son and..."

"Actually he is not your son." Mo Jingzhe’s voice piped in suddenly.

Everyone in the station had been listening to Mo Tian’s useless rant. They turned their heads to Jingzhe who had come down the stairs from the second floor of the station.

"You bastard. What do you mean by that? How can Chenyu not be my son?" Mo Tian asked arrogantly in extreme disbelief.

He was sure that Mo Jingzhe was talking nonsense, the little bastard wanted to sow discord. He had already forgotten the response he gave when asked what his relationship with Chenyu was.

"Because he is Mo Yifan’s biological son. If you don’t believe me ask your wife." Jingzhe clicked his tongue three times, smiling mockingly. "They have been running around behind your back before you even got married. Uncle, you don’t just have a green grassland on your head, you have an entire forest. But again, you are the same as your wife, both of you are cheaters so it is all the same. If you could get pregnant and give birth your children would not be aunt’s as well."

He put a hand on his chin and laughed, "Also, it doesn’t matter who Chenyu’s biological father is, after all you are the one who raised him. All the money, cars, expensive watches, apartments..he gave it all to you. Uncle Yifan never got to taste the the sweetness of having a rich son."

Jingzhe turned around and returned upstairs. It was almost as if he had come downstairs deliberately to throw out a grenade and then return to the conference room where their group was seated.

He left behind chaos, Mo Tian was screaming at the top of his voice that they should bring that bastard out for him. The bastard was Mo Yifan, the other man that had gone along with him to ask Mei Mei to arrange Chenyu’s release.

Chen Shanhe opened his notebook and put an exclamation mark where he had written Tian’s name and his relationship with Chenyu. Karma had heard Mo Tian’s denial of his son and decided to answer his wish. He wanted to laugh but that would be unprofessional of him.

Mo Tian suddenly charged, running off in the direction of the interrogation rooms. About six police officers lunged at him, bringing him down with the force of someone hitting a brick wall. It was never a good idea for a criminal to run in a police station!

He was dragged back to the chair where he had been and forced to sit down.

"If you try to escape again, we will lock you up in a cell." A police officer threatened.

This did not stop Mo Tian from struggling and yelling that he would kill that bastard.

"Threatening to kill someone in a police station is not a great idea genius." One police officer told him. "What a fool!"

If Mo Yifan turned up dead, the police already had a suspect and evidence because the police station had cameras that were recording everything.

Meanwhile, on the second floor, Jingzhe returned to the conference room with a female police officer that was carrying a tray with cups of coffee and some cookies. She distributed them between Mei Mei, Feng Qi and Wu Tangning.

She looked at all the lawyers in the room and then the chief. Was she supposed to give the layers special treatment as well?

"Let’s begin." The chief cleared his throat. "What happened today morning? Can you describe all the events leading up to fight?"

He looked at Mei Mei because he had been informed that she was the one that called the police.

Xu Shan the lawyer that was always available for Mei Mei had grabbed the spot behind Mei Mei, whispering advice in her ear like a worm.

"Stick to what we rehearsed in the bathroom, if I say stop you stop."

Mei Mei nodded.

"Any directions you have after my client makes her statement should be directed to me and not her." Xu Shan said.

The police chief prepared himself to listen to a story that would be deducted in many places like a confidential government document.

"Those people showed up at my house in the morning when I was sending my daughter to school, demanding entry. When I refused, they made threats and said that would punish me and my daughter.

They tried to punish their way into my house and we traded words. They made some more threats and then insulted myself and my assistant. One of them wanted to force me to kneel so I slapped him and that how the fight started.

I was the one that called the police first and I did it as soon as they showed up because I knew they were up to no good."

Xu Shan gave Mei Mei a thumbs up from below the table. She was excellent, it seemed she had been through this enough times to know how to handle herself.

"Can you specify the threats?" The police chief asked.

Xu Shan put a hand on Mei Mei and stopped from responding. She spoke up for her, "My client has been traumatized and she does not recall what was said exactly but we are willing to provide footage of the incident."

The police chief asked himself if the footage was as brief as Mei Mei’s statement and if it could be trusted.
