Inside the Special Investigation Team's office, Mona and Reesi immediately stopped their argument upon seeing Luo An push the door open.

Mona and Reesi's loud argument had startled Luo An, who had initially thought that some irreconcilable differences had arisen.

But seeing the two abruptly halt their dispute with just a bit of awkwardness on their faces—not as he had imagined—the tension in Luo An's chest eased, and he immediately asked:

"What's going on here?"

"Uh..."

Reesi and Mona exchanged glances, fell silent for a few seconds in embarrassment, and ultimately it was Mona who pointed to the computer in front of her and explained:

"We were just arguing about the relationships between these eight victims."

"?"

Luo An looked puzzled, then Reesi handed him a piece of paper.

On the white paper were the names of the eight victims, each connected by lines annotated with their relationships, such as friends, boyfriend and girlfriend, intimate, hatred, general, antagonistic, ambiguous, etc.

Then Luo An was stunned to discover that under each person's name, there were at least five lines connecting them to others.

Tina had the most connections; she was connected by at least two lines to each of the other seven people.

"..."

Overwhelmed by the complex web of relationships, Luo An decided not to continue examining the paper and tossed it aside, asking: ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

"What exactly is going on?"

Mona tapped a few keys on the computer, bringing up the identity information of the eight victims on the computer screen, explaining:

"The notes you gave us earlier detailed the experiences Tina had before her death.

But Tina was clearly a smart girl, so Reesi and I wanted to investigate what exactly happened last night."

For this purpose, Mona pulled up all the chat records and information on the eight teenagers, reviewing and investigating them one by one, and then Reesi and Mona drew that paper full of lines.

Reesi sat in the chair next to Mona, holding that paper in her left hand and pointing with her right hand to the chat records on the computer, saying:

"On the surface, Edwin and Lan Rui Sha were a couple, Klaus and Karen were a couple, Anthony was always pursuing Tina, and Melody and Ben had an ambiguous relationship.

But behind the scenes, Lan Rui Sha had slept with Ben, Anthony and Karen had * for each other, Edwin and Melody had played around in the dorms, and even others had joined in..."

"OK! OK! STOP!"

Luo An, feeling his head swell and his vision spin from the intricacies of the eight individuals' relationships that could fill a whole book, hurriedly raised his hand and loudly called a stop.

Looking at the innocent expressions on Mona and Reesi's faces, and considering how easily they clarified and casually spoke of the relationships between the eight victims, Luo An felt quite moved.

Maybe this was the difference between men and women.

Taking a deep breath, Luo An summed up:

"So, what you're saying is:

The three female victims were the girls who had bullied Tina at school, but were brainwashed by Tina to sleep with wealthy men and make money for her.

The four male victims were unaware of the girls' secrets and were simply romantically involved with them.

At last night's bonfire party, Anthony publicly asked Tina to be his girlfriend but was tactfully rejected by Tina, which prompted the drugged Anthony to lash out at Tina.

As it happens, also high on drugs and somehow having found out that Tina was a virgin, Lan Rui Sha revealed the fact that Tina was still untouched, thus egging on the other three boys and Anthony to pick on Tina.

Tina began to resist, and the other two drugged girls forced Tina to take a unique substance and drugs that could cause unconsciousness...right?"

"Actually..."

Reesi was about to continue explaining when Mona beside her promptly stopped her, glanced at the chat records on the computer, pondered for a few seconds, and nodded:

"There are some minor errors in details, but overall there are no issues."

"OK."

Luo An immediately breathed a sigh of relief upon hearing this, then looked at Tina's photo on the computer and felt a pang of regret.

Clearly, Tina was an extremely clever girl, holding three other girls tightly in her hand so they dared not rebel, and deceitfully leading four boys around in circles, who had no idea what their girlfriends were doing behind their backs.

Regrettably, Tina did not anticipate that the drug 'Alone' would lead the drugged boys to let desire overcome reason, and the girls' anger to suppress fear, resulting in her being bullied by seven people together, eventually ascending to Heaven.

Luo An shook his head repeatedly, uncertain how to evaluate Tina's brief life.

After pondering for a few seconds, Luo An asked:

"Have you found out who brought the fentanyl and carfentanil? Have you investigated this?"

The person was dead, the truth revealed; the reaction of the teenagers' parents upon learning the truth was a matter for later.

The urgent task at hand was to quickly find the guy who sold this drug to the minors to prevent more youth from dying because of it.

"Of course we found out!"

Mona indicated that the clues were in the chat records.

After a few clicks on the keyboard, Mona pulled up a chat log of Anthony's and then pointed at the computer to explain:

"Forty minutes before the bonfire party started, he messaged someone called 'Stray Dog,' asking if he had the usual chewing gum.

The other party said that he had no ordinary gum left, but that he now had some stronger little sugar balls."

Luo An narrowed his eyes slightly:

"It seems that this Anthony has a habit of consuming 'flour' on a regular basis.

This 'Stray Dog' is very likely the guy who sold him the fentanyl."

"Exactly."

Mona scrolled up through the chat records to the time 18 hours before the bonfire party started, then pointed at a chat log and said:

"At this time, Anthony indicated that he had already bought the drug that could make people pass out.

And he told Edwin that he planned to drug Tina's drink when she was drinking, saying he had lost patience with Tina."

"But there was no alcohol residue in Tina's stomach, which means she didn't drink."

Luo An sat down in his chair; the fact that Tina didn't drink indicated she was already cautious about last night's gathering.

Tragically, a girl was still no match for the brute force of four boys.

Beauty and intelligence, without the support of strong physical force, would ultimately be destroyed by others.

Reesi sat aside and muttered under her breath, feeling very troubled, pondering how she would explain her sister's situation to Vivian.

Luo An continued to ask:

"What about this 'Stray Dog'? Have you figured out who he is?"

"Stray Dog, real name Victor Ke Thomas Jemore, Peruvian, 25 this year, a second-generation immigrant."

Mona typed rapidly on the keyboard, and soon brought up a photo of a young man whose mixed heritage was clearly visible.

"Does he have a criminal record?"

"Three counts of assault, one count of illegal possession of a firearm, one count of carrying drugs in a public place. Five months ago, this guy just came out of prison."

"Another promising young man."

Luo An was not surprised by this; looking at the situation across the entire Federation, apart from wealthy people, a large portion of second-generation immigrants tend to be influenced by the 'freedom' of the Federation and end up on the smooth path of in and out of prison.

After finishing the coffee in his cup, Luo An led Reesi into the equipment room:

"Where does this guy live now?"

"On a street in East Los Angeles!"
