Chapter 472: Chapter 270: Nemo, The Path of the Future, The Mysterious Saint (Two in One)
"Am I overthinking this?"
Brian recalled how Shi San kept saying he smelled good... and then thought of the mysterious woman who claimed that blood could aid in beastification.
After pondering it for a while,
he took out a cup and controlled the scorching blood within his body, letting a few drops fall into the cup.
His blood beads underwent a miraculous change, too. Once they left his body, their high concentration turned them into round little beads that struck the bottom of the cup with an audible clink. Most surprisingly, the blood beads emitted both heat and a very faint, delicate fragrance.
To be honest, the scent was making Brian somewhat hungry.
He shook the cup with the blood beads in it.
After waiting about ten seconds for the blood beads to cool down, Brian walked out with the cup in hand and said to Sandy, who was engrossed in playing Snake on her phone, "This is a supplement I bought at the trade market. Give it a try."
"Supplement?"
Sandy took the cup, eyeing the three blood beads inside with confusion, "Are you sure these are edible? They look like little red crystals."
As she spoke, her nose twitched twice, and then her eyes lit up.
These little red beads had a strange scent that made her body crave them, like the desire and impulse someone might feel after being parched in the desert for three or four days and suddenly spotting water.
In a daze,
Sandy tipped the blood beads from the cup into her mouth.
Quick as lightning, Brian pried open her mouth.
He watched as his blood, upon entering Sandy’s mouth, began to dissolve actively. Before even reaching her throat, it was absorbed by the cavity of her mouth.
The whole process looked less like Sandy consuming Brian’s blood beads, and more like the blood beads merging into Sandy’s body of their own volition.
The next moment,
the hair on Sandy’s head parted as her normally hidden cat ears sprang to attention on their own.
Her cheeks began to warp as well, sprouting whiskers like a palm civet’s and sharp teeth, her hands extended claws, and even her tail became restless.
Looking at Sandy, who was flush and giddy as if drunk or under the influence of an aphrodisiac, Brian frowned slightly.
Suddenly, he thought of his own seemingly self-aware offspring.
Susan was usually quite proper, but after that time, it wasn’t long before she couldn’t wait to seek him out on her own, and then, after some busy work and getting her fill, she allowed Brian to go to the airport.
Was his body fluid so sinister?
...
More than ten minutes later, Sandy finally regained her consciousness.
She felt immensely satisfied, exhaling a warm breath, "That was amazing, what was that stuff? It hit the spot, I felt like my whole body was soaking in a hot spring, so comfortable, and it even alleviated much of my hunger."
"Do you feel anything else out of the ordinary?"
Brian sniffed but didn’t detect any change in Sandy’s scent.
Sandy got up from the bed, retracting her beastified features.
She gave it a try, shaking her head, "Nothing major, but I’m not as hungry as before. No matter how much I used to eat, I always felt hungry. Now it’s much better. Brian, do you have any more of that stuff?"
Brian shook his head, "No more, but my research institute is preparing to develop these things. If you’re willing to help out at my institute, I can provide some of this to you for free every month."
Sandy’s change was different from Susan’s.
It seemed the blood only provided energy, whereas sperm was somewhat different.
Could it be a matter of composition?
Considering he had a research institute at his disposal, Brian thought of some new research projects.
Researching himself wouldn’t be too bad.
There was also Spider Woman Eliana, Lizard Woman Linda, Catwoman Sandy... He could study all of them; he couldn’t just keep them without them contributing anything.
"Research Institute?"
Sandy seemed interested but also a bit troubled, "But I didn’t even finish high school, I need a calculator for anything over a hundred, I’m afraid I can’t handle the responsibilities of a researcher."
She was indeed a bit excited.
As soon as the word researcher crossed her mind, Sandy visualized herself wearing a white lab coat, small glasses, with a stern and serious expression.
It sounded very impressive.
"Not a researcher," Brian chuckled, "Your job will mainly involve being researched."
Sandy: ...
...
Ignoring Sandy’s sullen mood,
Brian quickly eliminated the remaining scent of blood on his body and started making his way to the location of the grand event.
The event lasted for three days.
Today was the last day.
Brian wasn’t very interested in the trades, nor was it a good time to network.
His main intention for going was to witness the most powerful Saint of the White Elephant Country.
Actually, Brian had found it odd how the official organization operated since the first day he arrived in the country.
The White Elephant Country was a federation of multiple religious faiths; Buddhism had long become all but extinct here, having been absorbed by Hinduism, Islam, Christianity, and others.
The largest sect here was Hinduism.
Hinduism’s precursor, the Brahmins, took over as the mainstream sect here over a thousand years ago, accounting for more than eighty percent of the White Elephant Country’s religious population.
The biggest issue in a religious state is that sects can influence governance and the military.
So how could such a sect, all but extinct, come to merge into the Ancient Buddhism with only a minority of followers?
Brian searched for an answer a few days earlier but didn’t find any.
Only bits and pieces on some NW forums hinted that the spiritual practice here was very special.
When Brian had first joined NW, Susan had also said that the White Elephant Country was quite formidable in this regard, their official organization ranked among the top worldwide.
