Chapter 153: JUST A DREAM?

"HYUNG, be careful."

"I am being careful, Heedo-ya."

Sohee thought Kim Heedo was overreacting when his husband put his hand over his head when he got in the car.

I mean, he always does this. But this is the first time he yapped while doing so.

"Is the seat comfortable? Are you cold? Hungry?"

"Heedo-ya, calm down."

Who would be uncomfortable in a R*lls-Royce car in the first place?

To be honest, Sohee was embarrassed that Kim Heedo was fussing over nothing when they weren’t alone in the car.

Kang Sul was driving for them, after all.

"Hyung?"

"I’m really fine, Heedo-ya," Sohee assured his husband. "Why are you acting like this anyway?"

Kim Heedo fell silent, and then he pressed a button.

After that, the glass panel that separated the front and rear portions of the car’s cabin transformed from a see-through transparent state to a completely opaque appearance.

So, now, they couldn’t see Kang Sul and vice-versa.

"Hyung, you might be pregnant now."

Ahem.

Sohee couldn’t deny that since it was really that easy for him to get pregnant.

After all, they met all the requirements: he was in heat, his husband was in his rut, and then they imprinted.

Plus, they had crazy sex for twelve days.

Yes, twelve days. They were only supposed to stay in the villa for a week. But Kim Heedo got his rut on their third night there, so they had no choice but to extend their vacation.

His husband’s rut ended last night, so they decided to go home.

They both turned off their phones during their entire stay in the villa. But when they finally checked their phones, they realized that they didn’t receive a single text message from their friends and family.

And that’s really suspicious.

"Should we visit the hospital first?"

"No," Sohee said firmly. "Not yet. I haven’t felt any changes in my body yet, so I don’t need to go to a hospital."

"But a simple check-up won’t hurt, Hyung."

"I said no."

"Why?"

Sohee grabbed Kim Heedo by the collar and pulled him down, whispering in his husband’s ear. "You came inside me a lot for almost two weeks, nonstop— so much that I feel like your seeds haven’t dried up in me yet. I’d rather die than let Dr. Seong find out about it."

He expected Kim Heedo to blush and be embarrassed.

However, the opposite happened.

Kim Heedo smiled smugly. "Yes, I did that."

Aigoo.

"Are you that proud that you filled me up to the brim?"

"Yes, Hyung," Kim Heedo said, smiling as his hand found its way to Sohee’s stomach. "That’s why I can feel that my baby is already growing in your womb."

It’s the Alpha in him talking.

For some reason, most Alphas were really obsessed with getting their Omegas pregnant.

Like, it’s in their instinct.

"It’s my body, so I would know first if I’m already pregnant," Sohee said, removing Kim Heedo’s hand on his stomach. "Give it a few more days, Heedo-ya. For now, let’s focus on whatever happened while we were away."

***

SOHEE Hyung kept insisting that he wanted to know what happened while we were gone, but look at him now.

Pfft.

Kim Heedo couldn’t help but smile while watching Park Sohee sleep peacefully on his bed.

Yes, my bed instead of his.

As soon as they returned to their apartment, Park Sohee went straight to Heedo’s bedroom. He took a shower quickly before changing into Heedo’s pajamas.

Yes, mine. I think Hyung even wore my boxers. Not that I mind.

Since Heedo’s pajama bottoms were a little too big on Park Sohee, his husband only wore the pajama top.

Is Hyung trying to seduce me?

Fortunately, Heedo’s rut had already ended.

Of course, he still felt very horny while looking at Park Sohee who looked so cute on his pajama top (that was a little big on him).

But the bruises and love marks on his husband’s body were still visible.

I should hold back.

Hence, Heedo carefully wrapped Park Sohee in the blanket.

"Sleep tight, Hyung."

Park Sohee only responded with a soft snore.

Aww.

That was the first time he heard Park Sohee snore, so his husband must really be tired.

This is my fault— I probably went too far.

"Good work, Hyung," Heedo whispered, and then he kissed Park Sohee on the forehead. "Thank you for staying with me again during my rut."

***

"IS SOHEE still sleeping?"

Kim Heedo sighed and nodded. "Hyung woke up earlier to have a light dinner, and then he fell asleep again. He must really be tired."

"And it must be your fault," his mother said teasingly, sipping her coffee before she spoke again. "You must have worked hard conceiving my grandchild."

"Eomma..."

His mother just laughed softly while shaking his head.

I’m still not used to seeing this side of Eomma, but I’m happy we got closer ever since Sohee Hyung came into our lives.

Anyway, his mother went to visit them to give them an update.

"Hyung told me to wake him up once you’re here, Eomma," Heedo said, sighing. "Will Hyung get mad if I don’t do as he said?"

"Of course, he will be upset. You know how stubborn your husband is."

"But I don’t have the heart to wake him up when he’s sleeping so soundly."

"Then you better get on your knees once your husband wakes up."

"Yes, Eomma. I will."

His mother smiled, and then she turned serious. "I don’t have good news for you, son."

"I already expected that when we didn’t hear from any of you," Heedo said, also getting serious. "What happened while we were gone, Eomma?"

"First of all, Sohee’s father escaped."

"What? And you haven’t found him yet?"

"I’m ashamed to admit this, but yes. With all of our resources, we can’t find him. Not even his trace," his mother said, sighing while shaking her head. "According to Shaman Jung, a sneaky shaman is hiding Park Mansu’s presence. We suspect it’s the work of Shaman Crystal since she’s been missing recently."

Tsk.

Out of all the three so-called great shamans in Korea, Shaman Crystal was known as the "snake" for being cunning.

And she can hide her presence from her fellow shamans.

"Eomma, is it okay if Sohee Hyung and I move back to your house in the meantime?" Heedo asked carefully. "Our house has more security than this apartment."

"That’s one of the reasons I’m here. Go and pack your bags later. You’ll be staying with our family until everything is resolved."

"Thank you, Eomma."

"Your brother-in-law was stalked by Jang Byeol."

"Is Go Gunjoon alright?"

"Yes. Fortunately, Go Gunjoon was with the twins when it happened," his mother explained. "When they asked Jang Byeol, Jang Byeol said he just wanted to see Go Gunjoon. And then he escaped."

"The twins let him escape?"

"Apparently, Go Gunjoon asked them to just let Jang Byeol run away."

"He’s really Sohee Hyung’s dongsaeng."

"I know, right?" his mother said, agreeing with him. "Thankfully, according to the guards who are keeping an eye on your brother-in-law, Jang Byeol never appeared near Go Gunjoon again."

"That’s a relief then."

"Are you ready for the last bombshell I’m about to throw on you?"

Haaah.

As expected, those two problems mentioned were just the tip of the iceberg.

Judging by how Eomma looks, the last problem is really the problem.

"I’m ready, Eomma."

"We’re currently on a "war" against Daesung Group."

"Excuse me?"

"To be precise, we’re fighting with Hong Seojun and Hong Seokho."

"Why would those Hyungs..." Heedo trailed off. It wasn’t hard to realize why the two Hongs would fight them, after all. "Ah. Did they find out that we let Lee Junsu go easily even after we confirmed that he was behind Hong Sera’s accident?"

"Yes, and they are mad about it."

And that was understandable.

"Hong Sera’s charm didn’t work on his brothers this time," Heedo said, sighing. "To be fair, I understand. After all, she almost died."

"Right. That’s why I can’t get mad at them."

"How exactly are we fighting them, Eomma?"

His mother paused for a moment, and then she gave Heedo an apologetic smile before dropping the real bombshell: "Son, actually, Sanha and Lee Junsu are both under our protection at the moment."

What?

Heedo shut his eyes tight while pinching the bridge of his nose. "Can you explain everything from the start, Eomma?"

***

HUH?

Where am I?

Sohee knew that he was dreaming.

After all, that was the only way he would wake up in a palace made of gold.

Everywhere he looked, he saw gold— gold pillars, gold frames, gold statues, and even gold roses in the garden that he could see from the big windows.

Heh.

Is this because I’m into gold these days?

"Dada~"

Hmm?

Sohee turned around when he heard a weird sound.

Much to his pleasant surprise, he saw GoldHee (the "piggy" bank that he and Kim Heedo had as a "son") walking towards him...

... while pulling a golden cart behind him.

Oh?

There was a baby wrapped in a white cloth in the golden cart.

Yes, a baby.

"How cute!" Sohee gushed, bending his knees when the golden cart carrying the baby stopped in front of him. As soon as he laid his eyes on the baby, his heart swelled with pride and joy for some reason. "Where did you come from, you little human bean?"
