Chapter 181: THE CLOSING CURTAIN (2)

Last night...

"I TURNED it off."

Kim Heedo was relieved by what Lim Garam said after they met in the living room.

Earlier, he asked the older man to turn off Park Heedo’s alarm on his phone.

Hence, Lim Garam entered Park Sohee’s bedroom in secret.

"Thank you, Hyung-nim," Heedo said, bowing his head politely. "I’ll apologize to Sohee Hyung later for making you enter his room and touch his phone without his permission. And I’ll make sure that he’ll only blame me."

"No, I’ll apologize to Sohee because I still agreed with your plan," Lim Garam said, crossing his arms over his chest. "To be honest, I agreed with your plan because I also don’t want Sohee to join this operation. As an Omega, I can’t stress enough how delicate our bodies become when pregnant."

"I know, that’s why I get stressed and frustrated that Sohee Hyung keeps insisting that he’s fine."

"It’s probably because he’s a Dominant Omega. They’re slightly stronger and tougher than normal Omegas. Even so, all types of Omegas get extra weak and vulnerable when pregnant. But Sohee is overestimating himself, and that’s why I’m feeling overprotective of him."

"Sohee Hyung can really be stubborn sometimes."

"And he has the right to be stubborn this time. After all, you’re doing this crazy shit to save your ex-boyfriend. Although you have a valid reason for saving Lee Junsu, it doesn’t mean Sohee should be fine with it."

"Hyung-nim, I thought you were on my side because of the things you said earlier."

"You’re an Alpha, so why would I side with you? That and because I know Sohee is enduring a lot just for you."

Heedo flinched.

Although he had convinced himself that he was only doing his job as the head of the family, he wasn’t dense enough not to know that this entire thing was stressful and painful for Park Sohee.

"I’ll go easy on the scolding since I know you’ll suffer once you recover your memories. I’m sure you’ll hate yourself when you remember how you treated Sohee because of your amnesia," Lim Garam said, patting Heedo’s shoulder. "Get ready to get on your knees and beg for Sohee’s forgiveness later, Heedo-ya."

"That sounds like a curse, Hyung-nim," Heedo said, sighing. "But that won’t change my mind— I won’t bring my pregnant husband with us."

***

"AREN’T you going to answer that call, son?"

Kim Heedo frowned because he could tell that his mother was teasing him.

The call on his phone was coming from Park Sohee, after all.

Right now, they were on his family’s private jet while heading to their private island on Jeju Province.

It wasn’t just them.

Lim Garam and Gunwoo were also there, as well as Shin Kang and his team.

The rest of our security team is already waiting on our private island.

"Sohee woke up earlier than expected," his mother commented after taking a sip of her coffee. "It’s good that we left the house early."

"I had a feeling that Sohee Hyung wouldn’t be able to sleep properly," Kim Heedo said, blocking Park Sohee’s number temporarily. He could have just turned his phone off. But he used his personal number when communicating with Song Sihyuk. "Eomma, thank you for helping me. I’m also grateful to Appa, of course."

He may be the heir of his parents.

But he still wouldn’t be able to mobilize his family’s subordinates without his parents’ approval, especially on such short notice.

I’m glad that Eomma and Appa are being supportive.

"You don’t have to thank us. We’re just doing your job as your parents," his mother said. "Your father actually wants to come with us. But someone has to stay and keep an eye on your grandfather. We don’t want him messing with our plan."

"Why would Grandfather mess with our plan, Eomma?"

"Your grandfather was unfortunately influenced by a fraudulent shaman," his mother explained, sighing while shaking her head in disappointment. "Your grandfather believes that Sohee is no longer of use to our family now that you’ve lost your memories. Apparently, according to the fraudulent shaman that he met, the luck that Sohee has got transferred to Lee Junsu."

"To Lee Junsu?" Heedo asked, confused. "Why him?"

"According to the shaman, it’s because your feelings for Lee Junsu have returned."

What?

To be honest, Heedo couldn’t understand his exact feelings for Lee Junsu.

He was worried about him since, in his current memories, Lee Junsu was a special person to him. However, he couldn’t feel the same desperation to be with Lee Junsu now that he had before.

In the past, he felt like he would die if Lee Junsu left him.

But I feel fine even after I found out that we broke up, and he has a new boyfriend now. I’m confused, of course. But not as hurt as I thought I would be.

And, even now, he didn’t feel happy about what he found out.

All because Heedo’s heart hurt for Park Sohee.

"Why is Grandfather like that? I don’t want to badmouth him because we owe everything we have to him. But he’s too much."

"If we’re going there, then shouldn’t we be grateful to Sohee’s grandfather? Your grandfather stole Sohee’s grandfather’s winning lottery ticket. Of course, we’re not invalidating the fact that your grandfather worked hard to build Ilsung Group from the bottom. You understand what I’m saying, don’t you?"

"Yes, Eomma," Heedo said, nodding. "But I still feel upset that Grandfather is treating Sohee Hyung as a disposable object."

After all, despite his amnesia, he knew his grandfather forced Park Sohee to marry him.

But now he’s trying to throw away Sohee Hyung.

"Then you should treat your husband better, even if you don’t remember him yet."

"I’m trying, Eomma," Heedo said, sighing. "But Sohee Hyung must be pretty upset with me right now."

His mother chuckled. "Son, do you think Sohee will just sit back and wait for you to come home?"

***

"FIRST OF all, I’d like to thank you all for coming," Sohee said in a serious tone. "And I apologize for asking you to come all the way here when I know you’re all busy."

He was talking to Hong Sera, Kwon Gaon, and Yang Jaewon.

Yes, he invited Kim Heedo’s friends to his in-laws’ house.

The four of them were now in the drawing room while having a serious meeting.

"It’s alright, Oppa," Hong Sera assured him. "We already got the gist of what’s happening. So, please tell us how we can help."

"I need to borrow your family’s private jet, Sera-ya," Sohee said. He felt sorry for the environment, but he wanted to get to where Kim Heedo was the fastest way possible. After all, he couldn’t help but feel like something bad would happen. "Is that possible?"

"Of course, Oppa," Hong Sera said immediately while nodding. "I actually feel bad that this happened because our family failed to stop Song Sihyuk Oppa from abducting Sanha-ssi and Lee Junsu."

To be honest, Sohee could tell that Hong Sera’s brothers didn’t put effort into protecting Sanha and Lee Junsu.

Aside from the fact that it was hard to go against the heir of SG Group, the Hong men probably thought it was "good riddance" for them. After all, the Hongs wanted Lee Junsu punished probably— even if it wasn’t by their hands.

"Thank you, Sera-ya."

"No need to mention it, Oppa."

Sohee just nodded, and then he turned to Kwon Gaon and Yang Jaewon. "I’m not going to force you to come with me, but I’ll be grateful if you could accompany me. After all, both of you are strong Alphas that I trust." He paused for a moment. "If you can’t accompany me, then can I ask you to let me hire your bodyguards, Gaon-ah? I think Heedo and my in-laws ask the bodyguards here to keep me safe at home."

"No problem, Hyung. We have a branch in Jeju, so I can arrange a team to accompany us there," Kwon Gaon said. "I’m assuming that you’re going to escape from here?"

"Yes," Sohee said, nodding. "So, please help me."

"Hyung, of course, we’ll help you," Yang Jaewon said while pulling out his phone. "Let’s get started."

***

"BOSS, Young Master Kim Heedo has arrived with Madam Boss."

Song Sihyuk nodded in acknowledgement of what Jung Han, his right-hand man, reported to him. "How does Lim Garam look?"

"The Madam Boss looks unharmed, Boss," Jung Han said. "But Young Master Gunwoo isn’t with them."

"Do you think Lim Garam would bring our son to a place like this?"

"Oh, I suppose not."

"Kim Heedo has a private island near here, so my son is probably there with his people," Song Sihyuk said while getting up. "Go and bring out Sanha and Lee Junsu. I’ll be out in a moment."

Jung Han just bowed politely before leaving the room.

Once his right-hand man was gone...

"I agreed with Jin Taejoon’s request because the information that he gave was valuable," Song Sihyuk said, talking to the hooded man standing in the corner of the room. "Your target is Lee Junsu— don’t even think about hurting the heir of Ilsung Group."

Yes, in exchange for Jin Taejoon’s valuable information, the thug asked Song Sihyuk to bring one of Jin Taejoon’s subordinates with him there to get rid of Lee Junsu.

And he didn’t object.

To be fair, he wanted to torture Lee Junsu first and make sure that the fact that he was a Hyper-Dominant Alpha wouldn’t get leaked again.

However, his plan changed when Lim Garam ran away from home again.

Fixing his marriage would always be his top priority.

I wonder what I did wrong this time.

"Taejoon Hyung-nim is no longer interested in Kim Heedo," the man said in a low and calm tone. "Taejoon Hyung-nim’s goal is to get rid of Lee Junsu to make Young Master Sanha suffer, so I won’t harm anyone else."

Even after hearing that assurance, Song Sihyuk’s ominous feeling didn’t disappear.

And he would find out later why.
