"HEEDO-YA, why are you staring at the back of my neck?"

"You can tell, Hyung?"

"You’re not exactly being discreet about it," Sohee said. He was busy cooking ramen for their midnight snack while his husband was busy staring at his nape. "Are you bothered by my story? That my assailant tried to bite the back of my neck?"

"Being almost sexually assaulted was already traumatizing enough— but getting your nape bitten must have been terrifying."

"It was. As an Omega, there’s nothing scarier for me than getting bitten by an Alpha who forced himself on me," Sohee admitted. "I was luckily Ahn Yujae came before that pervert’s teeth sunk into my nape. His teeth didn’t even leave a mark, so don’t worry about it too much."

"I’m sorry, Hyung."

"Are you saying ’sorry’ on behalf of all Alphas in the world?"

"You can say that."

"Don’t be silly," Sohee said, turning around while holding the pot of ramen in his hands. "You have nothing to apologize for."

Kim Heedo nodded, but it was clear that he was still feeling bad for Sohee.

"I’m really okay now, so stop sulking for me. I appreciate it, but I’ll appreciate you more if you help me set the table."

"Yes, Hyung."

A few moments later, Sohee and Kim Heedo were now enjoying their ramen together while sitting across from each other.

"Ah."

"What’s wrong, Hyung?"

"I only have afternoon classes tomorrow so I’ll be fine," Sohee said worriedly. "But you have a morning class, right? What if your face gets bloated because we ate ramen?"

Kim Heedo tilted his head to one side. "I never worry about things like that, Hyung. Whether my face is bloated or not, I’m still handsome."

"Heedo-ya, you should wait for other people to say that you’re handsome."

"Hyung, I’ve heard that all my life."

"Tsk."

"But Hyung likes my face, right?"

"I like your pheromones, your body, your face, and your money."

"In that order?"

"Yes, in that order."

Kim Heedo burst out laughing. "What a way to tell me my personality sucks without using words, Hyung."

"Well, you’re a good person, Heedo-ya," Sohee said. He was just teasing Kim Heedo. But as the saying goes, "jokes are half-meant." Hence, he decided to be honest. "But, honestly, as a lover, you still have a long way to go. Of course, as a provider, you’re unmatched. But there’s still room for improvement in the romance department. After all, we just started dating for real."

"You’re right, Hyung," Kim Heedo said, nodding. "I know I didn’t treat you well at the beginning of our relationship, so I’d like to compensate it with giving you the best things in life."

Sohee was poor all his life, but even he recognized the brand of the stylish messenger bag that Kim Heedo handed to him when his husband tucked him in the bed.

Yes, another luxury gift.

"Heedo-ya, I know this brand," Sohee said. He didn’t know he was a materialistic person until holding that fine messenger bag made him excited. "I heard you can’t just walk in and buy a bag in the store even if you have billions of won with you."

"I wouldn’t know since I never had a problem in getting what I want."

"Wow. Must be nice to be you."

Kim Heedo just shrugged. "I think I know what you’re talking about, Hyung. It’s true that it’s hard to buy any bag in that store, especially their so-called "quota bags." But Eomma and Kim Haewon never had a problem buying those purses. Are you interested in them, Hyung?"

"Yeah. I heard those bags are good investments."

"Is that so? We don’t buy bags just because of their resale value— we just buy them because we want to use them. But if Hyung wants to buy those bags as an investment, then I’ll get you some of their rare pieces."

Sohee fell silent for a moment. "Heedo-ya, in most dramas, the female lead would reject the expensive gifts that the male lead bought for her. But I’m not like that." He hugged the luxury messenger bag that he got from his husband. "I’m not saying that I’m better than those female leads— I’m just saying that I’m greedy. So, I’ll accept any expensive gift you give me."

Back when he didn’t know yet that his luck could be stolen from him, he turned down some of the gifts that Kim Heedo’s parents offered to him.

But, now, he would accept everything with open arms.

So, in case I get kicked out of the Kim Family, I can sell the expensive stuff that they gave me. I’m sure they’ll let me keep the presents they gifted me, right?

"I’ll be happy if Hyung accepts all the presents I give you," Kim Heedo said, a faint smile spreading across his face. "As Hyung said before, my love language is giving presents. And Hyung doesn’t have to give me presents— just take care of me like you’ve always done. Acts of service is Hyung’s love language, right?"

"You’re right," Sohee agreed, pausing for a moment. "But Heedo-ya."

"Yes, Hyung?"

"I’ll accept this expensive bag because we’re celebrating my recent win at YonheeToon Awards. But there are instances when giving me a gift won’t suffice, so don’t assume that everything will be solved if you just give me a present. Do you understand what I’m saying?"

"Yes, Hyung," Kim Heedo said, nodding. "If I made a mistake, I should apologize properly instead of simply giving you a gift."

"Very well," Sohee said while gently patting Kim Heedo’s head. "Anyway, you should go back to your room and sleep. You have a morning class, right."

Kim Heedo nodded, and then he asked: "Hyung, I forgot to ask earlier. But how was your meeting with that Omega kid?"

"Oh, right. I haven’t told you yet."

"Told me what?"

"Don’t laugh, okay?"

"Of course, I won’t."

Sohee hesitated before he confessed. "I thought the Jung Byeol— the Omega kid— was a Beta who took a pill that changed him into an Omega."

He expected Kim Heedo to laugh.

Or at least say that Sohee "says the funniest things."

However, that expression...

Kim Heedo suddenly went pale.

Sohee gulped hard. "Heedo-ya, has there been an incident like that before?"

"Lee Junsu," Kim Heedo said weakly. "There was a time Lee Junsu said the former president of their agency offered him pills that could turn him into an Omega."
