Chapter 176: Tania exposed (Part 2)

A collective gasp spread through the room, followed by murmurs of disbelief.

The blow hit the Beaumont family hard. They stood frozen, their pride shattered, and their reputation now dangling on the edge of disgrace.

Denis, dazed, clutched onto the last strand of doubt. "Are you sure?" he asked with confusion. "I saw the reports. A doctor confirmed her pregnancy. How can that all be false?"

The middle-aged doctor looked him in the eye and said unwaveringly, "I’ve been practicing medicine for over thirty years. I know what I’m saying. I don’t know which doctor she brought in or what reports you saw, but she is not pregnant. Hence, there is no question of miscarriage." freёnovelkiss.com

"What about the blood?" Jeanne demanded, pointing at the vivid stain on the floor. "We all saw it. She collapsed and was bleeding. She was crying in pain."

The doctor frowned and stepped toward the stain. Kneeling, he dipped a finger into it and rubbed it thoughtfully between his fingers. His brow furrowed, and then he stood.

"This isn’t blood," he said with conviction. "It’s paint."

"Paint?" someone whispered.

Disbelief crashed over everyone like a tidal wave. Tania’s desperate bid to fake a miscarriage was exposed in the most humiliating way possible.

She collapsed to the floor. She had thought she held all the strings, thought this night would be her triumph. But instead, she was being stripped of her lies, her dignity, and her future. And the man responsible for it all—Augustine—stood calmly amid the chaos, commanding the moment with quiet, ruthless power.

Her eyes darted toward him, hatred and fear swirling in their depths. She had dismissed him once as insignificant in comparison to the mighty Beaumont name. But now, it was clear she had severely underestimated him. Over the years, he had grown powerful beyond what she could imagine.

He had traced her steps, uncovered her secrets, and orchestrated this public shaming with surgical precision.

"She faked her pregnancy," Augustine’s voice rang out with measured authority, addressing the guests. "She lied to every one of us, manipulated Denis, all so she could wear the Beaumont name. She bribed a doctor to forge medical reports."

With a slight nod, he turned to Gustave. "Bring the doctor in."

Gustave obeyed swiftly, disappearing and reappearing moments later with a man in a white coat.

The doctor appeared pale and shaken. He had rushed to the venue after receiving Denis’s call, expecting to support Tania’s fabricated story. However, as soon as he arrived, a man in a black suit intercepted him and issued a chilling threat, leaving him rattled.

Gustave dragged him forward and shoved him to his knees. "Speak," he growled, his tone icy.

The doctor hesitated, then glanced at Tania, who shook her head weakly, pleading with her eyes—but it was useless.

"She paid me," the doctor began, voice shaking. "She came to me a month ago, saying she had trouble conceiving. I examined her and found complications because of the previous abortions. It was clear she couldn’t get pregnant easily again. But she insisted I create false reports to show she was expecting. She... she paid me handsomely."

Murmurs spread like wildfire among the guests. Eyes widened, mouths falling open.

Augustine stepped forward, eyes locked on the doctor. "So you confirm she is not pregnant? That you fake every report? You do realize this could cost you your license?"

The doctor nodded, shoulders slumping. "Yes... yes, I faked everything. I know what I did was wrong. Please, don’t destroy my career. I’m sorry. I didn’t think it would go this far..."

In a split second, Denis lunged forward and gripped the doctor’s collar tightly. "You lied to me," he roared. "You made a fool of me. I’ll kill you." His fist shot up, ready to strike, but Augustine stepped in swiftly, grabbing Denis’s arm and pulling him back.

"He’ll face justice," Augustine said firmly. "But what about her?" He pointed at Tania, who was still slumped on the floor. "She didn’t just fake a pregnancy and a miscarriage. She tried to destroy Anne’s reputation with a web of lies. She orchestrated this whole disaster with the event planner, putting everyone’s safety at risk."

His voice grew louder, more forceful with each word.

At that moment, the thin, nervous man began inching backward, trying to disappear into the crowd unnoticed. But just as he pivoted to make a break for it, a man in a sleek black suit emerged silently from the crowd and stepped into his path.

The light man stumbled, panic flashing in his eyes. He tried to escape, but the suited man grabbed him and forced him to his knees.

Every gaze in the hall shifted to the scene, tension tightening like a noose.

Augustine stalked over, his eyes dark with rage. Just the thought of Anne being locked away was enough to make his blood boil. He landed a harsh punch across the man’s face.

The man cried out, a trickle of blood running from his nose.

"Speak," Augustine thundered, his voice echoing through the hall. "Or I swear, I’ll end you right here."

The crowd froze, holding its breath as Augustine’s raw fury sent shivers down every spine.

The man trembled violently, his face drained of color, lips quivering as he spoke. "I-I’ll talk... I’ll tell you everything," he stammered. "It was Miss Tania—she told me to frame Madam Anne. I have proof... I recorded it."

With trembling fingers, he pulled out his phone, unlocking it with fumbling urgency. "She instructed me to make it look like Madam Anne tried to kill her. I didn’t trust her from the start... I thought she’d turn against me when things went wrong. So I recorded our conversation."

He tapped on a file and played the audio.

The man’s voice echoed first: "Are you sure?"

Then came Tania’s unmistakable, sharp, impatient tone. "Don’t ask questions. I’m paying you for this job. I’ll pay more. Just do it properly. Wait for my signal before you drop the chandelier on me. Then pin everything on Anne."

The man’s hesitant voice came again: "What if something goes wrong? What if the lies are exposed?"

Tania replied coldly: "No one will find out. Everyone will be focused on my miscarriage. Anne will be the villain. All you need to do is make sure you keep blaming her. That’s all."

As the recording ended, silence crashed into the room like thunder. The crowd stood frozen, minds reeling from the weight of what they had just heard.

The man looked up, remorse flickering in his eyes. "I couldn’t understand why she’d risk hurting her own child... but now it all makes sense. There was no child. It was all a show."
