Mated To The Cruel Prince-Chapter 790: Saw His Life Flash Before His Eyes
Chapter 790: Saw His Life Flash Before His Eyes
"He really is intent on destroying Valerie’s chance of making children," Andre commented.
It wasn’t said to be funny yet Islinda couldn’t help but snort in laughter, which was a huge reprieve from moments ago when she had been sobbing out her eyes.
"Come on, come on, Aldric," She urged him in her mind, praying nothing gets in the way of him winning this battle.
Valerie lay on the ground, recovering from the blow, when a massive snowstorm erupted, lifting him several meters into the air before sending him crashing down. He tried to control his descent with a heat jet but was struck by another snowstorm, and another, that sent him flying across the arena.
Valerie struggled to regain his composure, his flames flickering weakly as the cold sapped his strength. But Aldric was relentless. The snowstorms came one after another, pummeling Valerie from every direction, each blast of ice sending him sprawling. The once-proud crown prince was now a bloodied, frozen shell of himself, the cold numbing his body and slowing his reflexes.
Aldric got behind Valerie and wrapped his arm around his neck, dragging him to the center of the arena. Queen Maeve’s proud posture stiffened, her fingers digging into the armrest of her throne as she watched her son being battered into submission. Her mask of regal composure slipped, revealing the anxious mother beneath.
Aldric’s face twisted into a cold smile as he locked eyes with Queen Maeve, a silent message passing between them:’Sit and watch as I murder your son right in front of you.’
Aldric lifted his hand, making a slicing gesture across his throat. The message was clear — he was about to end it. Not just Queen Maeve, but the crowd held their collective breath as Aldric grabbed Valerie’s neck, ready to snap it and bring the duel to a brutal conclusion.

But Aldric was not deterred, thus both of them kept struggling, their muscles bulging from the effort both were putting. At last, Valerie buttheaded Aldric, breaking free just a little. Valerie’s hands glowed with heat, burning Aldric, forcing him to back away.
Both of them stood face to face, covered in blood and bruises. Though outwardly, Aldric seemed to have suffered the biggest injury but Valerie knew he would be lucky if his manhood still performed properly after this fight.
Aldric, his breath labored, began to summon his ability again, sending a hailstorm of icy daggers towards Valerie. Valerie countered with a firestorm, melting the ice before it could reach him. The battle continued, giving the crowd a thrill for their money. The Faeries were filled with anticipation. Who was going to win? They were hyper excited!
The fight seemed endless until Valerie slipped. Or rather, Aldric upped his game. Valerie’s attempt to punch Aldric failed as Aldric grabbed his arm, ice creeping up to engulf it. Seeing this, Valerie panicked and tried to punch him with the other palm only for Aldric to grab him and repeated the same, the ice encasing the other arm. Valerie tried to burn out the ice but Aldric was quite strong.
So he gave it his all, his entire body caught fire with the blue flame. He gritted his teeth, pushing out more flame as an idea hit his mind. Valerie was dangerously approaching a burn out, and he decided to use the opportunity to take out Aldric once and for all.
Aldric was groaning in pain as the flames licked across his body threatening to overwhelm him but he quickly willed ice to cover his body. Hence it became a battle of fire and ice, the both of them still locked in place.
Just as it seemed as if Valerie’s fire were about to overwhelm Aldric’s, his ice would then begin to overwhelm his fire. This went on for over a minute with everyone in the arena holding their breath and praying to the gods.
Even the unmovable King Oberon had a furrow on his face unlike his nearly panicking Queen, especially when she saw Valerie’s fire begin to stutter out.
"By the gods," Queen Maeve gulped, "He’s approaching a burn out."
It was a whisper yet it seemed like eveyone in the arena heard it and it went around like a wildfire causing panic and as well exhilaration especially amongst Aldric’s supporters.
The glow in Valerie’s eyes began to fade just as the flames started stuttering out and Aldric’s ice began to dominate. Yet Valerie was a fighter and would not give up, not caring that he would suffer a severe backlash from his magic for this drain out.
Fight as hard as he could, a kick at the back of his leg from Aldric sent him falling to his knees and as soon as he touched the ground, ice trapped him there. It was at that moment that Valerie realized that he had fucked up. But it was too late.
Ice continued to creep up and Valerie had that regretful look most people had whenever they saw their life flash before their eyes. As if they could have done a lot of things but it was too late.
The ice froze Valerie entirely and silence fell on the arena. For a moment, no one dared to say a word, nor breath carelessly, unable to believe what just happened. Then the next, there was a outburst of joy as the Faeries especially the winter Faeries celebrated their win. Although Valerie was still technically alive in there, it was only but a matter of time. He wouldn’t even feel it when Aldric’s end him into shattered fragments.
Islinda released a relieved breath. That bastard Aldric nearly had her there. She thought he would die! But here he was.
If there was anyone most shocked, it was Queen Maeve who stared at his son, unable to believe his frozen form. That was not possible. She had so much hope for him. He can’t be gone like that. Then she made up her mind. Turning to Queen Nirvana, she gave the sign.
Queen Nirvana nodded back with a smirk. It was time.
And the next minute, it was instant chaos.
