Multiversal Wanderer: Starting in Naruto-Chapter 72: Kree Empire
Chapter 72 - 72: Kree Empire
"Are you referring to ninjutsu?" Ancient One asked with a gentle smile.
"Yeah," Su Xiuyu nodded. "Ninjutsu, in a way, shares similarities with the magic of Kamar-Taj. The main difference is that ninjutsu relies solely on one's own power."
Su Xiuyu could sense the dark power hidden deep within the Ancient One. He could tell that even if the Ancient One were to learn the chakra system, her progress would be limited. The issue lay in the foundation—chakra was born from the fusion of physical and spiritual energy.
He had no doubt about the strength of the Ancient One's spirit. Even in death, her soul could travel freely across the universe. But her physical body? It was lacking. And without a special bloodline, even if her chakra reserves matched those of a powerful ninja, she'd still fall short of reaching the level of someone like a member of the Uchiha clan.
"It's a good system—effective, adaptable. But it'd be best used as a reference, or for teaching others how to use chakra," the Ancient One said, politely declining his offer.
"So you mean... you're just using it for understanding. That makes sense. If my guess is right, this universe can't directly cultivate the chakra system."
After all, even in the world of Naruto, the concept of ninjas only existed because of the Ōtsutsuki clan.
The Ancient One gave a calm shake of her head. "Still, I appreciate the offer. That's just the way things are."
Since she wasn't interested, Su Xiuyu didn't push the matter. In truth, he had no desire to spread the chakra system widely. He only offered it because the Ancient One had treated him so well—she hadn't held back with her knowledge of Kamar-Taj magic. It was only fair to return the favor. But if she chose not to learn it, Su Xiuyu was perfectly content keeping the secrets of chakra cultivation to himself.

In the Kree capital, Yon-Rogg and Carol Danvers were sparring. As an elite soldier of the Kree Empire, Yon-Rogg's combat experience was far greater than Carol's. Despite her raw power, she was quickly outmaneuvered and subdued.
He grabbed her right hand and yanked it aside. A surge of powerful energy flared in her left hand, which began glowing gold—almost turning into a pure energy form.
"Stop! That kind of output will tear you apart!" Yon-Rogg shouted, her anger barely contained. Despite the fight, he was still her comrade.
Forcing herself to calm down, Carol suppressed the surging power building inside her.
"Carol, can you still control your energy properly?" Yon-Rogg asked, steady and firm. "Get a grip on yourself. Otherwise, the Supreme Intelligence will want a long chat with you."
His words snapped her out of it.
"Humor is just a distraction," Yon-Rogg muttered a moment later, throwing in a sarcastic line to lighten the mood. Carol let her guard down for just a second—and Yon-Rogg took advantage, bringing her down again with practiced efficiency.
Thinking the match was over, Yon-Rogg began to step back. But Carol, still frustrated, let the energy in her left hand explode, sending him flying.
He got up without complaint, brushing off the dust. But what caught his attention was the green blood running down Carol's nose.
She had lost control again. And now, she would have to face the Supreme Intelligence.
---
"Have you ever seen the true form of the Supreme Intelligence?" Carol asked.
"No. Its true identity is the highest-level secret of the Kree Empire," Yon-Rogg explained. "No one has ever seen it. Besides, the form you see depends on your own mind. Your subconscious picks the person you respect the most—that's the image you'll see."
"So what image did you get? A business meeting or something?" Carol joked.
Yon-Rogg gave her a side glance, understanding she was deflecting with humor.
Soon after, their transport arrived at the chamber of the Supreme Intelligence. Carol hesitated as she stepped inside, tense as the neural-link-like tendrils moved toward her, connecting her to the system.
An image flickered into her mind. It was someone familiar—so familiar, but she couldn't place it. This face haunted her dreams, memories buried deep beneath layers of manipulation.
She had spent so long in the Kree Empire that she no longer remembered who she truly was.
"Is this the Supreme Intelligence?" she murmured. "I guess I'm supposed to admire this person the most... but I don't even know who they are."
"To forget pain is to move forward toward your true purpose," the voice responded. "You're just another casualty of the Skrull invasion."
Carol's voice trembled. "It's like staring into a void. And I'm the void."
"You must let go—live like a true Kree. Put the needs of the empire above your own. Embrace the life we've given you."
"The gift of greatness will be yours. Fight for the Kree."
She reached for the energy-suppressing device around her neck. The so-called "gift" from the Supreme Intelligence. She still hadn't found herself, but now at least she had a goal.
Her communicator beeped urgently.
"Carol, report in."
"I'm here."
"Rendezvous immediately. We've got a mission!"
The team assembled quickly. Yon-Rogg stood before them, briefing the squad.
"We've had another Skrull incursion. Our intel shows the border planet Torfa is under threat. We believe Sora—our deep-cover agent—is in danger. The Skrulls intercepted her message. General Talos is personally hunting her."
"If we recover Sora, we recover years of intelligence. Our mission is simple: extract Sora and secure the data. It will be dangerous. Be sharp."
"Understood!" the squad replied in unison.
Yon-Rogg led Carol and the team onto the transport, and they shot through space toward Torfa.
Once they landed, Yon-Rogg began assigning roles.
"Split up. Carol, you're on Sora extraction. Eliminate any immediate threats to the locals."
Using infrared scans, they found a cluster of people huddled around a fire—possibly civilians, but the Skrulls were masters of disguise. It was impossible to be sure.
The sniper took position for overwatch while Yon-Rogg's team flanked the group.
Carol, meanwhile, slipped into the nearby temple, guided by her communicator. According to the signal, Sora's beacon was somewhere inside.
----------------
"Calm down! Calm down!" Yon-Rogg barked, leveling his gun at the desperate-looking natives.
But the locals didn't seem to understand—or maybe they just didn't care. They kept inching forward, skinny arms outstretched, pleading for food with hollow eyes.
Yon-Rogg's team hesitated, unsure whether to push through or hold formation.
Then, out of nowhere, the so-called "natives" drew weapons and opened fire.
"Ambush! It's the Skrulls!"
"Carol! It's a setup—Skrull trap! Retreat now!" Yon-Rogg shouted into the communicator, activating an energy barrier to deflect the sudden barrage of plasma fire. His voice was strained as he ducked behind cover, frantically trying to reach Carol.
Inside the temple, Carol had just activated her communicator when she felt cold metal pressed against her head.
A Skrull.
Before she could react, he shifted into his original form and smashed her across the face with a rifle butt. The last thing Carol heard before blacking out was Yon-Rogg's voice still repeating the alarm.
Carol awoke strapped to a vertical platform, metallic restraints locking her limbs in place. Skrull tech hummed around her as a memory probe lit up, digging into her consciousness.
Their goal was clear: find the location of the light-speed engine buried in her memories.
Trapped in an artificial dream, Carol relived old moments—training as a pilot, laughing with the female scientist who mentored her, flying high above alien worlds. The dream fractured at the moment of the plane crash... and that jolt yanked her back to reality.
Eyes snapping open, Carol realized what had happened.
She'd been captured. The dream was fake. But her power—oh, it was still there. That burning, cosmic fire that surged through her veins like a storm untamed.
Energy pulsed around her, and in one violent blast, she shattered her restraints and launched the Skrull technicians across the room. One by one, they hit the walls with bone-crunching force.
Grabbing the Skrull commander by the collar, she slammed him into the bulkhead.
"What the hell were you looking for in my head? You're a general, right? You better give me a damn good answer."
Panting, the Skrull didn't fight back. "I only wanted the location of the light-speed engine. It's buried in Dr. Lawson's memory. That engine is the key."
Carol's fists clenched. She was in way deeper than she'd realized. But this wasn't the time to reflect—Skrull reinforcements were already storming the corridor outside.
Carol ditched the idea of dragging the general as a hostage. With a burst of energy, she blew the door off its hinges and fought her way out, blasting and punching through the tide of Skrulls.
Finally, she reached the hangar, stole a ship, and tore through the sky, rocketing toward her pre-set coordinates.
Meanwhile, Su Xiuyu and his group returned to the U.S. through a space gate. Marvel Universe or not, a lot of the chaos seemed to center around good ol' New York—especially in 1995. Stark Industries was booming, though Tony Stark hadn't become Iron Man yet.
"Xiu Yu, where are we headed?" Mito asked as she leaned comfortably on his shoulder, one hand on the wheel. On the other side, Chisato was fast asleep, wiped out from motion sickness.
Su Xiuyu had recently become the go-to chauffeur—though "practicing" driving had been more of a half-day crash course. As for the license? Pfft. If a cop pulled him over, the Sharingan could fix that real quick. Compared to piloting a Susanoo like a damn Gundam, this was child's play.
"Honestly? You'll know it when you see it," Su Xiuyu replied, gazing out the window.
He didn't remember the exact date Carol crash-landed on Earth, just that it happened in 1995. The Ancient One had nudged him in this direction, muttering cryptic crap as usual. Something about "Marvel Mom" falling from the sky.
That was enough to make him stay close.
"I'm gonna grab some water real quick," Su Xiuyu muttered, opening the door and stepping out of the car.
The moment he looked up, he froze.
A fireball—no, an aircraft—was screaming down from the sky, heading right toward him.
"Heads up, incoming!"
He'd expected this eventually... but not this suddenly.
If he used brute force or a flashy technique like Earth Grudge Fear, it'd wreck the area—including the nearby supermarket and their SUV.
"Too loud. Guess I'll use Shinra Tensei."
With precise control, Su Xiuyu unleashed a soft shockwave, redirecting the craft mid-air. The spaceship crash-landed gently in an open field nearby. Carol, inside, was knocked out cold from the impact.
"Let's go. Looks like something interesting just dropped," Su Xiuyu said, hopping back in the SUV.
"Target acquired?" Mito asked, already steering toward the crash site.
"Yeah, an aircraft. It's high-tech—definitely not from around here. Space-level tech. Gotta love it."
When they pulled up, they were met with a sleek, alien spacecraft smoking from the landing. It looked futuristic as hell, and totally wrecked.
"Can you fly this thing?" Mito asked.
"Nope," Su Xiuyu replied with a shrug. "Never touched one of these before."
"Then what now?"
"Brute force it is," he said, stepping up to the hull. With a twist of chakra and sheer strength, he cracked the side open.
Inside, they found her.
A woman in a green combat suit, unconscious and glowing faintly with cosmic energy.
"Think the ship's salvageable?" Madara asked, arms crossed.
"Nah. It's toast. But scrap metal like this? Could be worth something. Maybe I'll sell it to Stark Industries and pass it off as experimental tech. Easy enough to mess with memories using Genjutsu."
Madara gave a rare smirk. "Smart. Though, I'm surprised you're putting in this much effort."
"Even I need to blend in sometimes. Plus, the Sharingan makes cleanup a breeze."
"I'll bring back more ships next time. They gonna hear about this soon anyway."
Su Xiuyu crouched down beside Carol and lightly patted her cheek.
"Hey. Wakey wakey, Captain."
Carol stirred, groaning. Her eyes fluttered open, immediately locking onto the stranger's face above hers—red eyes, calm expression.
She nearly blasted him on instinct.
