My CEO Boss Is A Masked Internet Sensation-Chapter 166: Making And Sharing Soup
Chapter 166: Making And Sharing Soup
(Karsten)
I wasn’t at all pleased with the decision to take Arata back to her apartment. She was safe at my place, but what choice did I have?
How would she possibly explain why she was living at her boss’s place instead of her own.
The prospect had not only dampened my mood, it had made me sad...
SAD?
That was the word I never had to use.
But now, seeing her reaction, I understood she wasn’t enjoying her return either.
"Having second thoughts?"
I grabbed her sullen face and selfishly said.
"Let’s go back."
She sadly snorted at my words. I could see in her eyes that she wanted to.
"I wish, but you know I can’t. At least not until my family returns."
She was correct, but how was I going to pass so many days without her addictive presence?
"Hungry? I am craving soup. Do you want some?" She asked, turning away and leaving my hold. She was heading towards the kitchen.
The soup was healthy, I would never say no to that.
"We could have gotten it on the way," I said, not wanting her to cook after a tiring day.
"No, I feel like cooking today."
"Let me help, then." I removed my coat and dropped it on the back of the chair before following her to the kitchen.
She grabbed the apron from the hook and placed it around her waist. Lifting her beautiful hair she tightly wrapped them in a bun.
"You can cook?" She asked, side-eyeing me as I searched the kitchen for a second apron.
"A little bit, yes."
She opened a drawer, extracted an extra apron with bloody strawberries plastered on it, and handed it to me.
Of course! I swear she did this on purpose every time.
Quietly, I accepted it and put it on, looking like someone who was about to film a flirty baking scene in a romance novel. Even strawberries seemed to have shrunk in size against my frame.
Arata handed me a knife and then stepped back to fully take me in with her hand under her chin as if she were in deep thought.
My eyes narrowed as I wondered what she was about to say.
"You look fine, like a warrior about to go to war with fruits and veggies," she said with mischief and her usual wink.
I shook my head at her and wielded the knife like a true champ.
"What should I be killing first?" freёnovelkiss.com
"Veggies for soup." Moving towards the kitchen she began to take out leeks and green onions.
I wasn’t a rookie and had cooked plenty of times with Ma. So I began the task.
Arata busied herself with chicken and broth preparation.
She no longer had bandages on her hand but her skin was still pink and healing.
"Put on some gloves, Arata. I don’t want your hands to hurt with any kind of spice," I firmly said as she reached out towards the spice box.
Her head turned towards me and her ocean coloured eyes held this reverence in them. She slowly smiled with tantalising emotions dancing on her face.
"I will." She didn’t even fight back on this like her usual stubborn self and grabbed a pair of kitchen gloves from the compartment before putting them on.
The warm light highlighted the curve of her neck, and the urge to just wrap my arms around her waist and kiss those perfect slants was overwhelming.
My mouth watered more from seeing her cook than from the tantalising smells wafting from the cooking.
Together we prepared the soup. She scooped out some of the broth and made me taste it.
It wasn’t near to what I would eat, but from her hand, I would even eat simple water mixed with spices.
"It’s delicious," I answered. She nodded with a warm smile, satisfied that I had liked it. Picking up the diced veggies, she added them to the broth and slowly stirred.
I placed down the knife and leaned against the kitchen counter, just watching her cook.
Soon she added the cornflour to thicken the soup, followed shortly by the beaten eggs. Sprinkling it with some nuts, the delicious-looking soup was ready.
"Go wash your hands and I will serve it meanwhile," she said while reaching for a ladle.
Unable to hold myself back any longer I moved and placed my arms around her waist, tightening them so her precious curves were pressed into me.
Instead of going rigid or pushing me away, like melted wax, her body moulded against mine.
Hot and soft.
Placing my lips on the point where her neck met her shoulders, I whispered in warm notes.
"Thank you for making this."
She slightly arched her neck so my lips could completely cover the spot. Her sweet scent was intoxicating, and I didn’t wish to move, just kiss and devour her like this.
"Thank you for coming with me. Now go, or it will get cold."
Reluctantly and unwillingly, I had to let her go and remove the apron before heading towards the guest room. The temperature was warm enough in the apartment now.
Entering the washroom, I freshened up and grabbed a fresh towel from the closet, drying myself up.
I exited the room and the warm aroma of the soup welcomed me. The smells of winter always left good memories. I advanced towards the table where Arata was waiting for me with two bowls of soup.
"I gave Caysir his share. Let’s dig in," she said with such a warm smile that my heart shuddered in my chest.
Sitting opposite her, I picked up the napkin and spread it on my legs. Taking the soup spoon, I filled it up. The smoky tendrils rose in abundance.
To my surprise, she leaned in and blew softly on my spoon.
"There you go."
Before she could pull herself back, I grabbed her jaw.
"Not so fast, Blue Rose," I said with a smirk, and excitement danced in her cerulean eyes.
Naughty, she did this on purpose to tease me.
Upping the spoon, I emptied it in my mouth while keeping my challenging peepers focused on her.
Not for a second did she hesitate or pull away. Invading her space I slowly connected my lips with her and began to feed her the soup.
The best way I had ever taken soup.
