My CEO Boss Is A Masked Internet Sensation-Chapter 185: The Sales Department
Chapter 185: The Sales Department
(Arata)
"Of course! Guide me, will you? I didn’t get the memo," I humbly asked, falling into step with him.
He respectfully spread his hand in front, asking me to take the lead. We headed towards the stairs.
"You will be acting as the sales analyst, analysing sales trends and making relevant reports of sales targets for every given month. I will provide you with the data and will guide you thoroughly. Don’t worry."
Chan yanked the door open and we began our ascend towards his office.
"I will appreciate that." I offered an appreciative nod, trying to calm my stupid heart, telling it this was a good thing. We wouldn’t have to face him much.
"So, the Winter Gala was a huge success. There has already been such a hike in our sales. Everyone sang your praises, you were phenomenal on the ramp." Chan sing songed, pulling his hair away from his forehead.
"That’s good, I am sure it was because of how diligently everyone worked to create those dresses. I hope the sales keep soaring," I quietly said, focusing on my steps. Chan must have sensed the forcedness in my voice.
He softly nodded but didn’t press me any further for anything related to the Winter Gala.
We arrived at the Sales Department on the fifth floor and Chan, like a gentleman, opened the door for me, letting me enter first.
I took in the spacious place with about four glass cubicles and one main desk. There was no proper division between high and low ranks. As if sensing the question through my expressions, Chan explained.
"We all work at the same level in the sales department. No hierarchy whatsoever. Friendly atmosphere and relaxed environment. You will love it here. Come, I will make introductions."
He ushered me forward and I followed, this time with a hearty smile.
Two people occupied two of the stalls; one was a nerdy-looking guy with glasses like mine but with much thicker lenses, meaning they weren’t fake for show. He wore a proper grey tie with a white shirt.
"Meet our sales manager, Mardis Achermi. He is like the backbone of our department." The man awkwardly stood up, pushing his glasses back and offering me his hand.
"Miss Zyair, what an honour." I shook it, and it was quite damp; the man was nervous.
"Honour is mine; please call me Arata," I offered with a kind smile, and he returned it.
The other was a woman in her late thirties with a professional and sharp look. Her hair was held back in a single braid while she donned a winter blouse and skirt with stockings.
"This is Harnja with a silent ’j’. She is our lovely accountant," Chan jokingly introduced her and I extended my hand towards her. She professionally shook it and offered a small smile.
"Hello!"
"Arata will be joining us and I want everyone to make her feel welcome," Chan informed them while leaning against one of the desks.
"Welcome, we are thrilled to have you." The overjoyed voice of Mardis reached me.
"This is your desk, I will leave you to get adjusted. Anything and I am right over there. Feel free to reach out." Chan pointed to the cubicle opposite me and I nodded. free𝑤ebnovel.com
"Thank you! I appreciate that."
"Coffee and snacks are there, try whatever you feel like having. You had breakfast?" Chan asked, straightening up and folding his arms while I settled down on the black revolving chair.
"Yes!" I lied, not wanting to stir up a food conversation.
"Let me know if you need anything." He finally moved away, leaving me to become acquainted with my surroundings.
There was nothing much on the rectangular desk, a modern HP Thunder computer with a wireless keyboard, a mouse, a penholder, and few files, and that was all. The cubicle was small but neat with glass partitions on two sides.
I was sure Karsten had shifted me here because of my concerns that he had been watching me without my consent. This was an open office with many people so no cameras.
But I still glanced around looking for any hidden portals. Recently, the men in my life had made me extremely paranoid, and I wasn’t even sure what I had done to deserve all that.
Lost in the whirlwind that had become my life, I just sat there staring at particularly nothing, just absent and disconnected from the world around me.
"Arata!"
"Arataaa!"
Chan’s voice finally brought me back to my bleak reality, he was standing there watching me with a concerned look on his face.
"Are you alright?"
I swallowed a deep breath and apologetically said.
"Yeah! Sorry, I just zoned out for a second."
"No worries. Whenever you are ready, we will be analysing the sales data after the Winter Gala today. The one we have gathered so far and will start filing it." Chan handed me a piece of paper with the password for the computer.
"You can change it so only you have access."
Accepting it, I saw he had scribbled something under the password.
’You can talk to me during the lunch break. The office will be empty.’
Lifting my head I gave him an appreciative smile.
"Alright, thanks."
Chan left for his desk after that and I tried to focus on work. Wherever I got stuck I took help from either Chan or Mardis. Both of them gently guided me.
Sales had spiked with a very promising figure of 30 per cent in a single day.
The day after the Winter Gala was a holiday and it contributed to the rise of sales. It literally made my heart happy to see the Winter Gala had been such a successful launch for the Winter Collection.
I was so lost in adding the numbers in the chart I had created that I almost didn’t realise the silence.
His one-of-a-kind scent followed and I tensed. Slowly, I found my gaze lifting and finding him. My face hardened even more than his. His presence clutched my heart, not only painfully but it pierced the deep crevices where no one had dared to go before.
Like satan he was in black, head to toe. The steely look he carried had morphed and set into stone. There was nothing on his face and eyes but blankness.
The clothes hugged all his muscles, leaving no space for even air to seep between. The serpent on his neck stared at me as if mocking me.
I breathed out, slowly.
His mouth moved with a single emotion being portrayed. How could someone so easily detach himself? The thought still perplexed me.
"I need the sales data on my desk by the end of the day." The order was directed towards me as he stood a few feet away from my desk with hands deep into his pants pockets.
I wasn’t ready to face him but I would never let him see me weak anymore.
I glanced around to see everyone else was standing watching us, except me.
Just to vex the literal asshole who broke my heart, I plastered the most annoying smile I could muster and said in a flattering tone.
"Of course...Sir."
