My CEO Husband Has Some Issues-Chapter 1158 - 1159: We Don’t Need You Here
Chapter 1158: Chapter 1159: We Don’t Need You Here
"I don’t think you’re interested in drinking tea; you’re just afraid I’ll eat someone," Lin Wei said, suppressing his anger and scolding him.
Lin Teng, thick-skinned, pretended he didn’t hear and forcefully took a seat, patting the spot next to him and saying to Rong Yan, "Sit next to me."
Lin Wei laughed angrily and glared at him fiercely, "You really do treat me like a villain."
"Dad, you must be joking. How could I possibly treat you like a villain? I just hit it off with this young lady and wanted her to sit beside me, that’s all."
Lin Wei’s brows furrowed, and his eyes grew stern. "You hit it off with Miss Rong?"
His intimidating warning came, "Don’t mess around, son. At your age, if you cause any trouble, watch me break your legs."
Lin Teng was initially stunned, then laughed helplessly, "What are you talking about? When I said I hit it off with Rong Yan, I only meant that I appreciate her personality. There’s none of the implications you’re thinking of. At my age, how could I possibly do such things? Besides, Rong Yan is Shengxiao’s girlfriend."
"Hmph!" The old man snorted coldly and glowered, not giving him a pleasant look. "The moral standards of young people these days are worsening. They are capable of all sorts of sordid deeds. I don’t care what other families are like, but if you dare follow that lead, I won’t let you off."
Lin Teng felt so embarrassed he could barely show his face, especially with Rong Yan present, so he could only sheepishly plead with the old man, "Dad, Shengxiao’s girlfriend is still here. If you must scold me, do it in private, at least spare me some dignity."
He was already forty years old, yet still being scolded by his own father as if he were a child. How could he face anyone if word got out?
But his father had had a towering and formidable character his entire life, strict and traditional. As his son, he would naturally yield when possible and not argue with his father.
Lin Wei also knew that he was about to be promoted to major general and stopped speaking after a few words.
Turning to Rong Yan just as the tea arrived, he took a sip and began in a calmer tone, "Miss Rong, I heard there’s been another commotion at your home."
"I heard about it too, and it’s not the young lady’s fault. It’s her stepmother who’s being unreasonable; you can’t blame her." Lin Teng interjected before Rong Yan could reply.
Lin Wei glared at him furiously and said authoritatively, "I was speaking to Miss Rong, not you! Keep interrupting, and you won’t stay seated here any longer."
Lin Teng, clearly helpless, called out to him, "Dad. Rong Yan is Shengxiao’s girlfriend, and my sister likes her a lot. Why make it difficult for her? I don’t understand why ’proper match’ is so important to you. You and Zhiya ended up in your current situation because of these same words, and now you’re letting the same mistake happen to your own grandson?"
He softened his tone as much as possible but still angered the stern old man. The authoritative father’s expression darkened, and with a bang on the table, his voice deepened with innate authority, "Insolence! I do not need you to teach me how to manage my affairs! Go back to where you came from! We don’t need you here."
Lin Teng hadn’t expected such an outburst from him, his brows furrowing in disagreement. "I didn’t mean that. I just believe that times are changing, and our views should progress as well. There’s no need to cling to old beliefs so rigidly. Shengxiao is a decisive person, and you know his character well. Why push him into a corner?"
Lin Wei, expressionless and stern, maintained his earlier posture. "I’ll say it one more time, go back. We don’t need you here!"
