Dinner was a joyous affair.

Lin Zhiya didn’t hear what he said. Seeing his ears turn red, she guessed he’d said something encouraging to Rong Yan. Not wanting to tease the little guy, she took his hand and said to Rong Yan, "Yan’er, we’re going to head back to our room then. You should rest early too."

Rong Yan felt a sweet warmth in her heart as she straightened up.

The video call took a full three minutes before it was answered.

Before he picked up, Rong Yan received a call from Estelle, who exasperatingly inquired if she had offended anyone again. The several appointments for the week that had been set for her were all abruptly canceled by the company. Estelle wanted her to ask Li Shengxiao what was going on.

Rong Yan knew already who was behind it.

She could have complained and exposed Sir Lin’s actions to Li Shengxiao, but Rong Yan chose not to, simply advising Estelle to remain calm.

After she hung up with Estelle, the video finally connected.

The man’s chiseled face appeared from the other end, the hotel room background indicating his location. He wore a bathrobe, and his hair was dripping water, obviously having just come out of the shower.

Rong Yan hadn’t seen him for just one day, but for some reason, it felt like a long time had passed. She eyed his handsome, profound features with a hint of greed.

Li Shengxiao wiped his hair carelessly, tossed the towel to one side, and sat down in front of the camera. Noticing her staring, a look of surprise crossed his face, "What’s up? Why are you suddenly looking at me like that?"

Rong Yan propped her head up with both hands, her fair, heart-shaped face charming and pretty, eyes unwavering, "Nothing much, I’m just admiring how handsome someone’s boyfriend is."
