Chapter 60: [Chapter - 52] - Killer Lust System, official introduction

Chapter - 52

The sun was just beginning to rise, as Lucius made his way out of the narrow dirt path through the thick forest.

His clothes were ripped and stained, his knuckles were red with blood, and dirt was caked on his boots. The adrenaline surge in his body had already washed off and now his body ached, and every step felt like dragging himself forward.

But the worst of it... The worst part was his mind. He wanted it to be silent, but now?

[Bravo! Bravo! A standing ovation is in order]

The system voice came, cutting through the silence. It was dripping with mockery, cool and detached.

[You absolutely butchered them. Blood, dirt, fear—it was beautiful. Like a horror film... but with heart.]

But Lucius didn’t react, in fact his emotions were just too numb right now.

Though his feet kept moving forward, his mind was still in that hole. Those five dead bodies and that guy.

"... I killed them," he spoke in disbelief, "I buried him alive."

The voice chuckled softly, cold and uncaring.

[Mhm. You sure did. Buried them too. Very considerate. Not many psychopaths have manners these days.]

Lucius froze, his feet stopped moving. His arms hung at his sides. He stared at his hands. They were shaking now. He blinked, feeling the weight of everything crashing down on him. His heartbeat was slowing. The adrenaline was fading.

And then suddenly the images hit him, violent and unrelenting.

A man’s skull caving under a jagged rock. Another man begging, his voice a desperate whimper. The sickening sound of flesh tearing. Screams, sharp and panicking, echoed in his mind. The wet, nauseating crunch of bone splintering.

His knees buckled, and he barely caught himself, his breath hitching in his chest.

"I... How did I even do that?" he whispered, as he struggled to breathe.

He stared at his hands again, as though they were foreign objects, as though they didn’t belong to him. He flexed his fingers, numb to the blood and carnage they had caused.

"I fought like a monster. I tore them apart like... like I wasn’t even human," The last bit of sanity Lucius could remember was when he was with Iris after visiting Cassey in her room.

After that everything is a blur, he could remember every moment after that. But it was as if he was on the backseat and someone else took over his body.

A cold chuckle responded, curling around him like a serpent’s hiss.

[That’s the beauty of it, Lucius. You aren’t anymore. Not fully. You are something new. Something better.]

Lucius gritted his teeth, the taste of iron on his tongue. He clenched his fists, feeling the trembling coursing through his bones.

"Better?" his voice cracked, raw and bitter, "I feel like I am falling apart."

"Master you may not remember, but that’s the real you," the system purred, "That’s what this is. Welcome back to the edge. It’s sharp, bloody, and full of power. You will soon start enjoying it."

Lucius took a shaky breath, his body trembling as he kept walking, the weight of the world pressing down on him with each step.

After a moment, he spoke again, "What... what are you?"

[Finally!]

The system purred in satisfaction.

[I was starting to feel ignored. Allow me to introduce myself again... Officially.]

There was a pause, a sinister edge in the silence that followed.

[I am your very own, the Killer Lust System. Your guide, your partner, your little devil on the shoulder. I give you power... All in exchange for a little violence, chaos, and... well, some pleasure too. We will get to that.]

Lucius blinked, confusion clouding his thoughts, "What kind of system?"

The system responded without hesitation, a hint of amusement in its tone.

[Combat enhancement. Mental upgrade. Sexual dominance. Dark charisma. Regeneration. I am a full package.]

Lucius narrowed his eyes, a bitter laugh escaping his lips, "This is insane. Are you sure I am not just delusional?"

[Absolutely not. I am perfectly real]

The system replied smoothly.

[But it’s your new reality now. Get used to the madness. You have already passed the first test.]

Lucius didn’t say anything. He just walked, blood drying on his skin, clothes sticking to his body.

The path ahead was long. He had no idea where it led.

But even in the silence, the system’s voice lingered, its soft, mocking laugh curling through his thoughts.

[Alright, no more teasing]

[In easy words, I am your golden ticket to power, pain... and pleasure.]

Lucius exhaled sharply, a dry, humorless chuckle escaping him, "A system that will help me kill and... get laid?"

[Exactly!]

[Two desires fuel your rise: blood and beauty. Choose wisely... or embrace both.]

As he walked, the world in front of him seemed to flicker, just for a brief moment. Then, like a digital screen inside his eyes, glowing text appeared.

[Hey, no shame. I will help extinguish that curiosity of yours.]

The system responded quickly, playfully, and mockingly.

But something else took away her attention from his underperforming love life, "Why is my name Damian?"

[You will find out soon enough, for the time being I think Lucius will do just fine]

Then Lucius turned his attention to the next tab.

"Then why did that man," Lucius thought, "Who was Master Lei?"

[You are surely stronger, faster, smarter, deadlier... But with some polishing, you will be irresistible]

The system responded with amusement.

"Great," Lucius scoffed, shaking his head, "A buffed-up murderer with dating advice from a sarcastic ghost."

[I am not a ghost. I am your system. And you are my master. Now pay attention... Quests are the fun part,]

The system replied, voice growing slightly more eager.

The system responded with a dark chuckle.

[...You kill her enemies for her and make her scream your name. Balance, Lucius. Balance.]

Lucius shook his head, feeling the world crumble around him, "What kind of twisted system are you?"

[The one you desperately need]

[You have been hunted, betrayed, beaten bloody and they almost buried you alive. No more playing fair.]

Lucius’s breath slowed, "Fine," he whispered.

[Good. You accept reality fast enough]

Lucius kept walking. The path was dry, broken, and lifeless.

[Right. Now that we’re past the welcome party, let me break down what you can do with me.]

"Do you always talk this way?" Lucius felt a bit irritated.

[Life is a mystery. So why not unravel the...]

"Tell me about the system," Lucius interrupted the system.

[What a brute. Well, you have got Quests, Inventory, System Shop, and Skills. You will unlock more once you stop bleeding every five steps.]

Lucius grunted, "And how do I get stronger?"

[You can Kill people. Knock women. Or both. Your choice.]

[Each time you kill, you earn System Points. Each time you knock up a woman, you earn Lust Points. Both unlock power, abilities, gear, and sometimes fragments of your past.]

Lucius stopped and tilted his head, "Fragments?"

[Yep. Your memories. That you have buried I your head.]

Lucius narrowed his eyes.

[You will learn the truth, slowly and surely. But first, you need to survive. And win.]

Meanwhile, Iris tried all night but could not connect with Lucius. He stormed off just like that and she has had no news of him since then.

So now she stood across from Marcus, face to face.

"Mr. Singh, don’t sign anything yet. Let me explain everything first."

Marcus, lounging confidently in a chair, gave a dismissive snort.

"Oh, here we go," he scoffed, "Now, when you didn’t get the deal, you didn’t even have a decent idea to pitch, you are going to play the old victim card, huh?"

"That attitude doesn’t suit you, especially not someone who had to steal others’ ideas just to win," Iris shot back, her voice sharp.

"Calm down, girl...accept the truth, you just lost the deal," Marcus smirked.

"By the way, your little lover paid me a visit last night. Begging me to help you out this one time," Marcus smirked, "Well, I couldn’t do that, but I was a good host nonetheless. I took good care of him."

"Just shut up," Iris gritted her teeth, then turned to Pratap, "Believe me, Mr Singh. You don’t want to hand over this palace of yours to him."

Pratap sighed and stood up from his chair. "This isn’t a game, Miss Iris. You tried, but it’s time to let this go."

"But—" she started, her voice filled with frustration.

Suddenly, the office door banged open.

Lucius stood in the doorway, blood smeared across his torn shirt, cuts on his arms and face. His chest heaved, and his eyes burned in rage.

The room went silent. Everyone froze.

"Hello, Ladies! Did you miss me?"
