Chapter 85: [Chapter - 77.1] - The Silver Hair Lady [Part-I]
Chapter - 77.1
Lucius slept like a dead man, after two straight nights of chaos. He killed wherever he went, kidnapped, and even got a hefty ransom. And now all the stress and fatigue finally caught up to him.
His body had hit the bed like a stone after he returned in the morning and since then he had not moved.
When he finally opened his eyes, the room was still brightly lit. The sun was still shining outside the window, casting a soft orange glow through the curtains. He blinked twice and turned to look at the clock beside the bed.
5:03 PM.
"Damn," Lucius muttered as he sat up. He stretched his arms. His muscles ached, and his back cracked. But strangely, he felt good. His body hurt, but his mind was calm.
"This felt so nice," Lucius sighed in relief, and when he turned to his side to stretch, he saw a covered plate of food. Lucius checked, and the food had gone cold.
[She came to check on you. Twice.]
Lucius smiled a little as he heard the System’s voice in his head.
"She did?" he asked.
[Yep. Looked worried too. Sat there for a few minutes both times. But then she left. I guess she had to go back to being Miss Boss Lady.]
Lucius picked up the spoon and slowly started eating the food. It was cold now, but it still tasted okay.
[That girl, she actually cares for you. Why don’t you both make it official?]
Hearing the system. He sighed quietly.
[Why the sigh, Master? Feeling emotional?]
Lucius leaned back again, letting his head rest against the headboard.
"It’s time," he said softly.
[Time? For what?]
"It’s time to leave this place," Lucius replied.
[Wait, what? But why? You are treated like a prince here.]
"More than a prince, I feel like I am just wasting my time here," Lucius said, "I was here just to know what Iris knew about my past. But it doesn’t seem like she knows anything."
"That nice girl just saved me out of good intentions."
[So where will you go? You don’t have any memories of your past self]
Lucius shook his head, "I don’t know. For now I will just find myself an apartment or something. But before that..."
[Before that what?]
"Don’t you think I need to get Iris a gift. Something nice. Something that shows I am thankful."
[Ooooh, romantic. I like it.]
"Why do you have to be so dramatic?" Lucius rolled his eyes, already getting out of bed, "If you want to help, then only open your mouth, or else stay silent."
[Oh I do have many great gift suggestions. From something cheap like a condom to...]
"Aghh... Here we go,"
And with that started a nonstop suggestion express of the system. Meanwhile Lucius took a quick shower, threw on a clean black shirt and jeans, and grabbed his jacket.
By the time he stepped out of his room, the mansion was back to its calm, silent state, but the system was still giving him gift ideas.
But just as he exited the mansion, the young maid who had been assigned to look after him 24/7 quickly pulled out her phone and made a call.
"Young Miss. He just left."
Back in her office, Iris groaned and smacked her forehead with her hand.
"Lucius..." she whispered to herself, "Not again."

Lucius arrived at the car showroom just as the sun was dipping below the skyline. The glass building shimmered with light from inside. Sleek, glossy cars parked behind the tall glass windows.
He had given it some thought. He could buy her dresses, take her to a nice dinner or some movie. But nothing seemed like it would leave a lasting memory.
If he was anyway going to buy her something, she must be able to see it for the next 5-10 years and remember him constantly.
So having made up his mind, he walked inside, straight-backed, confident.
A well-dressed salesman quickly spotted him and approached with a polite smile.
"Good evening, sir. How can I help you today?"
Lucius smiled back, "I want something nice," he said, "A classy car. Something that can manage to get attention. Not too loud. But something that stands out... It can be expensive, I don’t mind,"
The salesman’s eyes lit up instantly.
"And your budget, sir?" he asked.
"Somewhere around 1 to 1.5 million," Lucius replied casually.
That number made the salesman’s smile stretch even wider, a customer with a fat pocket means a hefty commission.
"Right this way, sir," he said eagerly, "Let me show you our exclusive collection at the back."
Lucius followed him through a hallway lined with mid-range vehicles, until they reached a private section with a dark marble floor and golden lighting. Here, the real beauties waited for them.
The salesman began pointing them out, one by one.
"Sir, this is the Zerani Mystique V12. Custom-built leather interior. And it comes with a top speed of 370 km/h. Carbon body. 0-100 in 2.6 seconds."
"And here," he continued, "the Avaron Phantom X. Only 99 of these have been made for now. It has the same top speed of 370 km/h. Comes with personalized heat-controlled massage seats, made with crocodile leather."
Lucius ran his fingers over the smooth hood of Phantom X. He was impressed.
[Master... Look, look at that black one on the right. It will suit that Boss Lady of yours]
Lucius turned his gaze in the direction the system pointed at. His eyes settled on a black car at the far end.
"That one," he said, "I like that one."
But just as he said it, a soft voice came from behind him, "I like that one too."
Lucius turned, and for a moment, everything else faded. The woman standing behind him looked like she had stepped out of a painting.
She wore a black satin robe that clung to her body tightly, letting everyone admire her curves. Her figure was breathtaking, she was tall, beautiful, and graceful.
Her silver hair flowed down to her mid-back, shining softly under the showroom lights. It framed a face so beautiful that Lucius felt the air leave his lungs. ƒrēewebnoѵёl.cσm
Her skin was smooth like porcelain. Her eyes were a clear, icy blue, with a sparkle that made them seem almost unreal. Her lips were full, lightly glossed, and curved into a knowing smile.
She didn’t speak again at first. Just looked at him and gave him a sweet smile. And that sweet almost charmed him, but he managed to keep his head clear.
"You have got good taste," he said.
She smiled back, "You don’t mind that I liked the same car, do you?"
"Absolutely not," Lucius said, "It only makes me feel happy. A beautiful lady agreeing with my choice."
"And I am sure they have two of them. One for both of us, don’t you?" Lucius turned to the salesman.
But the man gave an awkward smile, scratching the back of his neck.
"Actually... sir... that one’s the last unit in stock."
