Chapter 105: Another mother-daughter betrayal story

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh!

Sharp claws sliced through the air, carrying unstoppable force like meteors crashing down, surrounding and tearing at Seraphina! The attacks slammed fiercely against her dragon scales, sparks flying everywhere with a harsh screeching sound!

Yet, unbelievably, they didn’t even scratch her defenses!

Boom!

A storm-like surge of Draconic Force gathered behind Seraphina, swirling violently!

Then, like a tsunami, it rushed toward her claws, glowing brilliantly and bursting forth with blinding radiance!

BANG!

With terrifying Draconic Force concentrated in one strike, Seraphina slammed her claw into the nearest Corpse Red Dragon. It exploded instantly, shattering into dust and leaving nothing behind!

"What the—?"

Ethan froze, completely stunned by what he’d just witnessed.

Even Seraphina herself paused for a second, then scoffed disdainfully. "Oh, I see now. You’re just a pale imitation of a real Red Dragon, huh? Pathetic. With defenses like that, you’re barely Tier 12 at best."

In truth, with Seraphina’s current strength, she could probably one-shot a genuine Tier 13 Red Dragon—

But only if she went all-out!

Earlier, she’d just been messing around, not even close to serious. She hadn’t expected her casual strike to be too much for them. Talk about disappointing!

"H-how is this possible?"

"This isn’t just a Tier 13 Green Dragon... Could it actually be a Tier 13 Green Dragon Hero?!"

"Why the hell would a Green Dragon Hero show up here? A Tier 13 Hero unit... that’s gotta be at least Crimson Ultimate!"

At the same time, the Night Elf’s expression twisted in shock, disbelief, and sheer terror!

She’d witnessed Seraphina’s overwhelming power firsthand, and she knew exactly how terrifying it was!

This wasn’t something an ordinary Tier 13 Legendary Unit could achieve—not even with a Hero’s attribute boost!

In other words, there was only one explanation:

This Green Dragon wasn’t just a regular unit—

It was a Green Dragon Hero!

And possibly even a legendary Crimson Ultimate!

Crimson Ultimate... the stuff of legends!

In her mind, the strongest person she’d ever known was her mother—the one she desperately wanted dead. But even her mother was merely an Orange Legendary Hero, leagues beneath the mythical Crimson Ultimate!

"H-how could this happen...?"

The Night Elf trembled uncontrollably, eyes wide with panic.

Inside, her instincts screamed at her: "Run! Run now! Get out of here!"

But her feet felt petrified, frozen in place. Normally quicker than a cheetah, she now stood rooted to the spot, unable to move an inch.

And at that very moment, Seraphina switched back into her "unstoppable, god-mode" rampage!

"You worthless trash are pathetic! You’re way too weak—just die already!"

"ROAR!"

Seraphina let out a deafening roar, raising her hand as Draconic Force erupted around her like blazing flames!

In an instant, the Tier-3 Strategic Artifact—Hellcrusher Maul—appeared in her grip!

Surrounded by the overwhelming Draconic Force, the Hellcrusher Maul transformed dramatically into a dazzling, radiant Dragonfang Spear!

With a fierce throw, Seraphina hurled it forward!

BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!

One spear, three thunderous impacts!

Three Corpse Red Dragons were instantly impaled, pinned to the ground. The terrifying Draconic Force coating the Dragonfang Spear crushed their bodies, incinerating them completely into ashes!

RUMBLE!

At the same moment, the earth trembled violently. The spot where the Dragonfang Spear struck cracked open, splitting into a deep, gaping chasm!

"Holy crap..."

Witnessing this scene, Eldorin sucked in a sharp breath, muttering in shock, "Is this the godlike power of a Crimson Ultimate? It’s terrifying!"

On the other hand, Ethan and Cicero were already used to this kind of spectacle.

In fact, they both knew Seraphina wasn’t even going all-out. If she had unleashed her full strength, this entire canyon would have collapsed by now. A place "this small" couldn’t possibly withstand Seraphina at her peak!

"ROAR!"

At that moment, Seraphina let out another dragon cry, launching herself forward again!

BOOM!

Terrifying Draconic Force surged around her, swiftly enveloping her dragon wings. The energy transformed into razor-sharp wind blades, spinning faster and faster around her wings—

Then, she unleashed it toward the last remaining Corpse Red Dragon!

BOOM!

A deafening explosion echoed as the devastating Draconic Force erupted outward like a hurricane, spreading over a thousand meters and grinding the final Corpse Red Dragon into dust!

The ground continued to quake violently, shaking like an earthquake that refused to subside.

"This... this can’t be..."

Seeing this, the Night Elf’s legs trembled uncontrollably, her heart sinking into utter despair.

Thud!

The next moment, her knees buckled, and she collapsed helplessly onto the ground, drained of all strength, completely hopeless.

Those five Corpse Red Dragons had been her final trump card, yet Seraphina had slaughtered them effortlessly...

No, calling it a slaughter was an understatement—it was a massacre!

"It’s over..." she whispered bitterly, eyes hollow and empty.

"Over? Actually, I don’t think so."

Just then, a calm voice spoke up. The Night Elf shuddered violently, lifting her head fearfully to see Ethan approaching her. He looked down at her calmly and said, "Get up. I have some questions for you."

She saw Ethan slowly approaching her again.

Even though Night Elves felt utterly hopeless, she still couldn’t help but tremble in fear.

Her eyes darted around nervously.

In the next instant, she dropped to her knees without hesitation, bowing deeply before Ethan, hands raised submissively in surrender.

"Great Lord, your humble servant Lilith offers you her deepest respect!"

Having once belonged to the underworld, Lilith knew exactly what it meant to live by the law of the jungle.

She knew dignity was worth less than a scrap of paper.

Because in the underworld, there was no morality, no law, no rules.

There was only one thing that mattered—

Power.

With power, you could have anything you desired.

But without it, life in the underworld was a nightmare. Status, family bonds, personal wishes—none of these existed there.

The eternal rule of the underworld was simple: strength was everything, might made right.

The strong had it all.

The weak were nothing but ants—mere toys for the powerful to torment, abuse, and control. Living in such an environment, everyone learned to be humble, submissive, and obedient.

Everyone learned how to bow down to the strong, how to rely on them.

After all, survival meant knowing your place. If you wanted to live, you had no choice but to swallow your pride.

"Lilith, huh? That’s your name? What’s your last name?" Ethan asked.

"My last name..." Lilith’s expression darkened, a flicker of hatred flashing deep in her eyes. She lowered her voice, "It used to be Malenthia, but now...I don’t have a surname anymore."

"Why not?"

"Malenthia was my mother’s name. But I’ve betrayed her," Lilith said quietly, her face emotionless.

"Another mother-daughter betrayal story, huh?" Ethan sighed. "Though I guess that’s pretty common in your underworld."

The underworld was so twisted and chaotic that family bonds and friendships were meaningless.

Betrayal, manipulation, and selfishness were their specialties.

In a place like that, trust was practically suicide.

It wasn’t an exaggeration to say that family members turning against each other—mothers against daughters, fathers against sons, siblings against siblings—was an everyday occurrence. It happened so often it was practically routine.

Because the people closest to you were always the ones who knew exactly how to hurt you the most.

And that was the deadliest thing of all.

Thinking about this, Ethan didn’t bother digging deeper into her past. He shook his head and said bluntly, "Alright, enough of that. Tell me your real purpose. If you’re from the underworld, why are you here?"

"I hate the underworld."

Lilith was clearly terrified of Ethan, but her disgust for the underworld seemed even stronger.

At the mention of it, her eyes turned cold and distant. "Every single day down there is spent in fear and anxiety. Especially for women—just being born into that place is a tragedy. To survive, to keep even a shred of dignity, I had to fight harder than anyone else..."

Ethan paused for a moment, then said flatly, "That’s not what I asked."

"I’m sorry..." Lilith immediately lowered her head, speaking quickly. "My father was originally a Night Elf from the surface world, a descendant of this place—The Lost Realms. But during one of Malenthia’s raids on the surface, he was captured and dragged down into the underworld, becoming a slave in Malenthia’s castle..."

"Your father was a descendant of The Lost Realms?" Ethan raised an eyebrow, glancing toward Eldorin.

Eldorin thought for a moment, then nodded slowly before shaking his head uncertainly. "My Lord, The Lost Realms collapsed around 2,700 years ago. Before that, about 3,000 years ago, when I was still very young, I do recall a large-scale invasion from underground forces, but..."

Eldorin turned to Lilith, frowning slightly. "But Night Elves usually only live around 1,500 years—rarely more than 2,000."

"That’s because after my father became a slave in Malenthia’s castle, he unexpectedly awakened as a Dragonblood Elf!" Lilith explained clearly and calmly. "That’s also why Malenthia took such an interest in him..."

"A Dragonblood Elf?" Eldorin was stunned, clearly surprised.

"Dragonblood Elf? What’s that?" Ethan asked at the same time.

"My Lord, Dragonblood Elves are a special hidden Tier 10 class—extremely rare and powerful! They also have incredibly long lifespans, usually living over 3,000 years..." Eldorin explained.

"So, what she’s saying might actually be true?" Ethan rubbed his chin thoughtfully, eyes glinting with curiosity.

"Great Lord, please believe me! Everything I’ve said is true—I wouldn’t dare lie to two mighty Crimson Ultimates!" Lilith pleaded fearfully.

Hearing this, Ethan paused for a second, then chuckled softly. "You’re pretty honest, aren’t you?"

"Even though I come from the underworld, the blood of a Dragonblood Elf still flows in my veins. I long for the light... Besides, lying to someone as powerful as you would be incredibly stupid!" Lilith replied without hesitation.
