OMG!!! My Crippled Husband is a Hot, Powerful CEO-Chapter 135 – Resourceful Information
Chapter 135: Chapter 135 – Resourceful Information
"What makes you think that your information would benefit anyone?" Alex inquired. Dario echoed the question to the man on the floor, awaiting his explanation.
"What if betraying Salvador led me to acquire valuable information?" The question hung in the air, piquing Alex’s interest in the potential information the betrayer possessed.
It was uncharacteristic of Alex to renege on a deal, but the man’s intentional betrayal presented a unique situation.
After some thought, he came up with an adequate response.
"Depending on the significance of the information, I may stage your death and offer you a fresh start. You would be able to observe your family from a distance but never reunite with them. You could lead a normal life and even start a new family," Alex proposed, with Dario reiterating the terms.
The man on the floor found solace in the alternative to death, especially the prospect of glimpsing his family from afar. His only apprehension lingered around the value of the information he possessed and whether it would meet the criteria for any of the options presented to him.
What criteria do you use to determine if the information I possess is valuable?" the man on the floor asked, his voice trembling. The torture was taking its toll on him, indicating the need for medical attention.
Any normal person would have been dead by now but due to their training on survival, he is still holding on, his life span on a thin thread.
However, he was aware of the complexity of the organization he was a part of, so Alex made sure to clarify.
"The information would be valuable to me if it could save a life or reveal crucial details," Alex explained through Dario.
The man on the floor appeared satisfied, knowing that neither of his superiors would go back on their word.
In a shaky voice, he continued, "Firstly, Logan offered to pay me not to administer the memory-wiping water to him, but I did not disclose any information about the organization."
While this revelation brought some relief, it was not enough to secure his release as he had still defied an order.
"You seem to be wasting time," Alex remarked through Dario, prompting the man on the floor to hastily provide more details.
"In essence, by altering the water and allowing him access to his phone, I overheard a conversation where he discussed with an unknown person about kidnapping Alex’s wife, Joana, faking her death, and framing her husband, Alex," he confessed.
Alex and Aiden were stunned by this revelation, realizing the extent of Logan’s deceit and betrayal.
Feeling lost and confused about the situation, Alex made a mental note to call Ike to ensure that all his instructions regarding Logan were followed without any changes or delays.
"Is that all? This information would only grant you a fifty percent pardon. We may choose to deny you the opportunity to see your family, or we may allow you to see them before your death. Choose," Alex said through Dario, prompting the man on the floor to speak up again.
Knowing his boss well, he understood the probability of his information not being satisfactory and was testing the waters by providing only partial information to gauge the response.
"He mentioned bribing a maid at Alex’s mansion through his uncle’s wife to drug a woman named Violet if she visited. The plan was for Violet to seduce Alex under the influence of the drug, causing Joanna to leave the house in distress and making her vulnerable to the enemy. That’s all," the man on the floor revealed.
He had no more information, and his fate depended on how his boss interpreted the information he received.
Dario chose not to relay the information, aware that Salvador had already heard it all. His silence indicated that he was contemplating everything.
Alex appreciated the information because if he had witnessed something happening to Violet, he wouldn’t have ignored it, potentially avoiding a situation that could have damaged Joanna’s friendship with her best friend.
As it was a direct communication, he couldn’t even ask Aiden, who was driving, any questions. However, Aiden was equally stunned by all that Logan had planned.
"Still not enough," Alex said through Dario. The man on the floor began to weep, unaware that Salvador was just pressing to see if he was hiding anything.
"I guess I would choose the option of seeing my family before dying," he said. Alex confirmed that he was sincere in his confession, stating,
"Your information is vital, so you get to see your family but can’t get close to them. You will be treated and given a new life. However, you will no longer be one of us."
Dario repeated the information verbatim. The man on the floor’s weeping changed to joy as Alex added, "This pardon is granted because Alexander King would pay handsomely for this information."
"If that is the case, then why not reinstate me to my former position?" the man on the floor pushed his limit, Alex replied through Dario.
"That’s because your intention was not to provide us with this information. You did it with the intention of betraying us and only used it to gain favor."
Acknowledging his mistake, the man on the floor did not argue further. "Thank you for your fair judgment, Salvador."
Alex ended the video, confident that Dario would handle the situation. "Your brother never gives up," Aiden remarked, slowing down as they approached Alex’s gate.
The gate opened automatically due to the sensor, but before they got out of the car, Alex assigned him a task. "I want to uncover the spy in my house."
Aiden smiled. "You know I’ve got that."
After that, Alex dialed Ike’s number and asked him. "How is it going? Is everything done?"
Ike responded promptly. "Grandpa is here so we are waiting for him to leave first."
Knowing that his grandfather would not dare to cross him, Alex was patient. "Update me when he leaves."
Upon entering the living room, they saw Betty trying to calm a restless Violet on the sofa.
