Joanna’s suspicion was confirmed that Logan was not in this alone. The man who entered the room stared at her as if she was going to be his next victim.

"I change my mind. I want her," he said seriously. Joanna lost her cool, unable to hide her fears. Don Ace looked young but mysterious.

"No, she’s mine," Logan argued. Joan was glad she had not insisted on her relationship with Alex.

"We had a deal. You get her, and the police arrest Alex. What about the shares, huh?" Don Ace was not looking happy, but the way he kept staring at Joanna made her want to run.

"I’m working on it, and you have to trust me on this," Logan spoke pleadingly. Joanna was losing hope.

If Logan was completely in charge, it would have been easy, but with this man, she didn’t know what to do.

"I didn’t save you and fund this whole thing for nothing. Salvador would have killed you if not for me, and you claim he’s Alexander. Make him admit it to the public and end up behind bars because if I go down, you go down, and that pretty little face dies."

After another glare at Joanna, he stormed out of the room as Logan stared helplessly at Joan.

"You heard him. Alex got his company back, but if he wants you, then he has to admit he is Salvador and face the law."

Joanna knew Alex was innocent of all the charges against him as Salvador, but that part was something she would not take upon herself.

"Even if he’s Salvador like you are saying and assuming he gets arrested, then how do you get the shares for him?" She pointed at the door where Don Ace left.

Logan had already thought it through. "I would have everything, but first, he either confesses to being Salvador or divorces you, and the two of us will get married. Then I would take you with me everywhere," he leaned in and whispered, his hand wrapping around her waist.

Joanna removed his hand from her waist and held them in her hands. "Alex is too smart for this. If you promise to take good care of me and the child, I would divorce him, but how will you get him to confess to being Salvador if he’s the one?"

Logan smiled. "I can threaten to publicize the divorce or let him send Violet over, but this child is my blood too, so I won’t harm him or her."

Joan wasn’t liking this, but for the protection of the pregnancy, she would go along with it. However, she wanted Alex to know that she was fine. "Sounds like a good plan."

Logan called Alex on a video call, and Joanna noticed his haggard look. It was clear that Alex had not been sleeping since she left.

"Alex, you either confess to being Salvatore and turn yourself in to the cops or you divorce your wife. Oh, sorry. She made the decision for you," Logan said. "I’m sending a drone to bring you the divorce papers. Sign it or I would abort your baby."

Joanna slapped Logan instantly. "You bastard. You promised to take care of me and the baby."

"Come on, sweetheart. You aren’t mine until he signs the papers," Logan cooed in her ear. Their closeness caused Alex to tighten his knuckles, pained that he wasn’t there to protect her.

However, he agreed that she was doing a good job. "Send the drone or whatever. Joan means nothing to me."

He pulled Violet into his arms. "If it were her, trust me, Logan, I would have torn you into pieces by now."

Logan moved away from Joan, pain registered in his eyes as he saw Violet embrace and peck Alex on the lips. Violet had not done that but the angle at which she stood made Logan see it that way.

Joanna was smiling internally because Violet was doing a good job, making it so real.

"Alex, this isn’t over," Logan seethed. Alex smiled, and though it was forced, Logan couldn’t tell.

"Well, Joanna was only to serve a purpose, and that was to help me get complete dominion of King’s multinational. I have it, and I have the woman I love by my side. In the end, I still have the last laugh."

Logan’s eyes turned red, and Joan held his hand. "Didn’t you say that you love me? Why are you envious of them? Logan, let’s get away to a far place to start a new life."

"No," Logan yelled and snatched his hand from Joan. "I don’t want to see him happy. Let’s trade Violet and Joan tomorrow," he declared. Joan was uncomfortable due to having heard the plan.

Violet could be hurt by that idiot Ace. "Logan, after everything, you are just going to let me go?"

"It’s too late, Logan. I don’t want Joan so you can keep her. As for Violet, you would never have her," Alex said mockingly, though everything inside of him wanted to make the trade.

Nevertheless, he couldn’t let Logan win again. "Think, Alex. You have twenty-four hours or I would get rid of your bastard child in Joanna’s womb."

Joanna sunk into depression at Logan’s declaration, but she saw a sudden calmness in Alex’s eyes that gave her hope.

"Logan, that child Joan is carrying is the blood of the Kings. You know the implications of harming such."

"Okay, for the unborn child, I want you to either confess publicly to being Salvator and face the law, or trade Violet with Joan."

Joanna knew that even if Alex turned himself in as Salvador, he would still be able to prove his innocence, but that would take long due to court procedures.

Also, what if Alex was arrested? He wouldn’t have control over the two companies like if he were free.

Logan’s final words rang. "You have twenty-four hours to decide."

After the call ended, Logan was so upset to have made the wrong bargain. Violet had given him the chance, but he thought he was being tricked.

Joan didn’t look like she was still in love with Alex, and vice versa, so he felt like he made a big mistake and could not inform the other dons about the turnout of events, as they would lose trust in him.

Don Ace was already getting impatient, whereas the other two were nothing to write home about but Logan suddenly smiled when he remembered something.

The next day, Alex received another video call from Logan the moment he arrived at the office. This time, Logan was not with Joan but someone Alex trusted.

"Hello Alex, are you still going to deny being Salvator? I hope you know this man, Dario. He’s ready to expose everything about Salvator so what are you gonna do about it?"

Alex’s teeth gritted tightly and his fingers balled. Logan was loving the reaction he was getting.
