One Piece: I'm Destined to Be the Son-in-Law King!-Chapter 209: Heal-Heal Fruit
Chapter 209 - Heal-Heal Fruit
Days drifted by, but the echoes of the battle at Punk Hazard still rumbled through the criminal underworld. Everyone expected chaos within the Marines, but instead, they remained strangely calm.
It was as if nothing had happened.
The newspapers stayed silent.
The underworld understood perfectly. What truly bothered them was the rise of an incredibly dangerous man inside the Marines.
---
Far away in the New World, at the G-14 Branch...
Several vice admirals stood silently, bandages wrapped around their heads, watching the G-5 Branch fleet return.
Even Vice Admiral Onigumo, still recovering in the emergency room, knew the matter would be dropped. All they could do, having been nearly beaten to death, was clench their teeth and bear it.
Might makes right, it seemed!
The officers of the G-5 Branch also escaped punishment. With their base chief now a fugitive, further punishment would only stir up more anger.
---
About two weeks later...
In the East Blue, at Shells Town...
"Pirates! Pirates are coming!"
The urgent clang of the town bell filled the morning air. A pirate ship approached the harbor, sending the townspeople into a panic.
But surprisingly, after landing, the pirates didn't plunder. Instead, they lined up, barely daring to breathe, until the Marines of the 153rd Branch arrived.
It was as if they were surrendering on purpose.
Roya, dressed in a casual black suit, stepped off the pirate ship with Yamato, under the fearful eyes of the pirates.
"Thank you for your hard work, I appreciate it."
"Take care!"
The pirates forced smiles that looked more like cries, respectfully watching Roya leave.
Just a few days earlier, they had been sailing along peacefully when suddenly, a mythical dragon swooped down from the sky, carrying two monsters on its head.
After a brutal beating, they followed the monsters' orders to sail to Shells Town, not daring to stop along the way.
"I'm back."
Roya felt a sense of peace as he looked at the familiar town.
After leaving Punk Hazard and wandering in the sky for some time, he had realized he had a problem - not a big one, but still a problem.
He was lost.
To navigate the Grand Line, you needed navigation skills and a Log Pose, and neither he nor Yamato had either.
There were also smaller, everyday issues.
Roya now realized how much he relied on his subordinates. He had been spoiled by them and didn't even know basic navigation.
Turns out, he was the useless one.
After a few days sightseeing on an island in the New World, he had brought Yamato straight back to the most familiar place: the East Blue.
A commotion broke out at the port, and several Marines ran toward Roya, looking both eager to recognize him and unsure.
"Excuse me, are you Vice Admiral Roya?"
"I am. Linus."
Roya nodded with a smile.
"Reinforced Fist" Linus. When he first joined the 153rd Branch, this guy had sparred with him a lot. They were old friends.
Linus and his companions looked thrilled.
It really was Vice Admiral Roya!
They often saw news about Roya in the newspapers. When they learned he had become a Headquarters Vice Admiral, the whole branch was incredibly proud.
Roya was a legend of the 153rd Branch!
"Vice Admiral Roya, what brings you back this time?" freewёbnoνel.com
"I'm on vacation."
Roya explained with a smile.
After chatting about the branch, Roya took Yamato to Colonel Rhodes' house and had dinner.
---
The next morning...
The two left Shells Town and headed for nearby Syrup Village.
This time, returning to the East Blue wasn't just to visit Colonel Rhodes. He also had another purpose: to help the Syrup couple with their illness.
He had never forgotten this matter.
He also wanted to get a small boat; otherwise, eating and resting would be difficult. He could rest on Little Pink, but it didn't feel like traveling.
---
Half an hour later, they arrived at the island where Syrup Village was located. Several unfamiliar ships were docked at the port.
"Huh."
Roya's eyes narrowed slightly.
Judging by the flags, they were ships of the Revolutionary Army.
Yamato noticed the change in Roya's expression and asked curiously.
"Are they pirates?"
"No. Let's go."
Roya shook his head and walked toward the village. Soon, a familiar shout reached his ears.
"The pirates are coming! Everyone, run!"
Years had passed, and Usopp was still playing "The pirates are coming."
Roya sighed.
---
At Syrup Manor...
Several guests had joined those in the reception room.
"Cough, cough..."
Mr. Syrup held a handkerchief, coughing constantly. His face was paler than before, and his eyes were sunken and dark.
Anyone could see that Mr. Syrup was dying. He probably wouldn't last more than a few months.
The leader of the guests looked somber and helpless. "Mr. Syrup, thank you so much for your support."
"It's just a bit of money."
Mr. Syrup smiled weakly.
He had long accepted his condition. Wealth was fleeting, and helping the guests before him was putting it to good use.
His only worry was Kaya. After he and his wife were gone, he didn't know how she would face the future alone.
Roya...
Mr. Syrup sighed inwardly.
If Roya was still in the East Blue, entrusting Kaya to him would be the best choice. Unfortunately, Roya had gone to the Grand Line. He didn't know if he could hold on until Roya returned.
Butler Merry excitedly entered the lobby.
"Sir, Vice Admiral Roya is here!"
"What?"
Mr. Syrup was stunned, thinking he was hallucinating. When he saw Roya following Merry, he realized that Roya had really returned.
Roya greeted with a smile, "Mr. Syrup, long time no see."
"Roya!"
Mr. Syrup's eyes lit up with joy. He leaned on his cane, wanting to get up from the sofa, but his weak body made it difficult.
Roya quickly stepped forward and helped him up.
"Good, good, it's good that you're back!"
Mr. Syrup's thin hand gripped Roya's tightly, his excitement overflowing. He had truly feared he wouldn't see Roya again.
The other guests in the lobby, upon seeing Roya, changed drastically, each instinctively reaching for their weapons.
They were the World Government's number one enemy, the Revolutionary Army. How could they not recognize the famous Vice Admiral Black Hair? He was extremely dangerous!
Why would the Vice Admiral Black Hair, who roamed the New World, appear in the East Blue?!
"Quiet."
Roya glanced at them, his calm voice laced with undeniable authority.
Everyone froze. Even the East Army Captain, Belo Betty, couldn't help but sweat.
Intuition told her that Black Hair had the power to easily kill them all!
"Roya-niichan!"
Kaya, hearing the news, hurried to the lobby. Seeing Roya standing next to her father, she rushed to him and took his hands.
The girl next door had grown up.
Roya looked at the taller girl and nodded with a smile.
"You've grown up, Kaya."
"Yes, I'll be 16 soon!"
Kaya stuck out her tongue, realizing her behavior was a bit out of line, and quickly tried to act like a proper lady.
Roya shook his head, amused, and took out the gift he had prepared.
"This is a gift for you. Open it and take a look."
"Thank you, Roya-niichan."
Kaya eagerly opened the gift box.
Inside was a Devil Fruit with strange patterns and a stem and leaves that looked like a dandelion.
The Revolutionary Army members' faces changed instantly.
It was a Devil Fruit!
Kaya looked puzzled.
"What is this?"
"It's called the Heal-Heal Fruit. You'll understand after you take a bite."
"Okay!"
Kaya, without hesitation, used a knife and fork to elegantly cut open the Heal-Heal Fruit. She swept back her long hair, pierced a piece, and put it in her mouth.
"Yuck!!!"
The girl's face scrunched up, as if she had eaten a whole lemon.
"So it really is disgusting."
Roya couldn't help but laugh.
None of his subordinates were suitable for the Heal-Heal Fruit, so he had planned to leave it for Kaya, since she was learning medical skills.
As for the value of the Heal-Heal Fruit, he knew it very well, but he didn't think it was a pity. Devil Fruits like this only had value when eaten.
"Huh!"
Kaya raised her hand, and a white dandelion floated from her palm. She could feel its power. With a thought, the dandelion floated toward her father.
Mr. Syrup calmly watched the dandelion merge into his body. The moment he saw the Heal-Heal Fruit, he knew it was a Devil Fruit, and he knew this was its power.
He knew his daughter would never hurt him.
"My body... it feels so light!"
Mr. Syrup suddenly stood up, moving his arms and legs. All the pain had disappeared, and he felt an unprecedented sense of ease.
This scene shocked everyone present.
Mr. Syrup had been struggling to even stand up, but now he was like a young man. How could such a change not be shocking?
Kaya excitedly supported her father, explaining based on her feelings, "Father, don't move around too much. This miraculous power is only temporary. To fully recover, you'll need long-term healing."
The Heal-Heal Fruit could heal all injuries and illnesses, giving them new life. However, Mr. Syrup had been ill for a long time, so it wouldn't be easy to recover completely at once.
But Kaya could feel that with the Heal-Heal Fruit, combined with her medical knowledge, she could cure her parents' illness.
The girl looked at Roya, tears of emotion streaming down her face.
"Roya-niichan, thank you!"
"It's what I should do."
Roya nodded with a smile, then looked at the Revolutionary Army members. "Let's sit down and talk about why you're here!"
"..."
Belo Betty's expression changed slightly.
He really wasn't planning on letting them go, was he?
