POSSESSION: The Hidden Omega In All Alphas' Academy [BL]-Chapter 59: Saved Again!
Chapter 59: Chapter 59: Saved Again!
No matter how many times Kylian had desperately wanted to erase the memories of last night from his mind, Marita’s answer riled up his frustration once again. His mind was in a dazed state from his first heat, remembering the blurred steamy moments that happened between him and Zenith, but he didn’t recall a single thing after he had passed out from exhaustion on his bed.
But even though he was unconscious, hearing that Zenith had spoken to his mother without his permission, not only that, he went as far as lying to her about his transition made Kylian furious. He gritted his jaws angrily while scowling over the call, "That darn bastard...what else did he tell you, Mom—"
"Kyle, I don’t remember raising you as an inconsiderate child." But Martha’s voice sounded a bit solemn from hearing his angry growl as if she was not very pleased by his reaction. "Why are you cussing at that boy who has helped you? It is the first time you are living in such a big city alone, of course, I was concerned when you weren’t answering my calls last night. I was almost about to call the administrative office but your friend thoughtfully picked it up to give me a heads up about you."
"H-He’s not my friend, Mom!" However, deliberately opposing her words, Kylian exhaled a big sigh while clenching his jaws, "Y-You shouldn’t assume everyone is a nice person, Mom, just because they seem that way from the outside. He’s a crazy punk...and also a bu..."
Kylian’s words trailed off before he could pronounce the whole word, labeling Zenith as a bully. But he was certain the second Marita would hear about it, she might go crazy from worrying about him, which might impact her own frail health too.
"And also what? Why would you pause, Kyle?"
As expected, Marita caught on his silence and when she urged again, Kylian narrowed his gaze towards the drifting blue waves and suppressed his words not to make her worry too much, "I meant to say, he’s not a nice person at all. And it annoyed me to think why would he answer my phone, without my permission!"
"Kyle," Marita took a big sigh off and softly smiled, while she conveyed in a very gentle voice, "Even if he’s really not a good guy, but still, he brought you to his room to let you some rest when you were exhausted. I have seen far worse people in my life who don’t bother to bat an eye at someone even if they’re dying...so in comparison to such people, that boy seemed like a good person to me, Kyle."
"But Mom—"
"I know, you never relied on anyone else even if the circumstances were hard for you, but it is not considered to be a weakness to have someone by your side as a support when things go wrong. Even if you weren’t friends with him...he still allowed you to stay in his room, that speaks about his considerate side, Kyle. So, instead of being rude and annoyed, why don’t you appreciate him a bit?"
Indeed Marita had no idea about Kylian’s irked attitude towards Zenith, but he couldn’t firmly deny her words either as deep inside his heart, somehow he knew his mother was correct. Somehow the overwhelming distress inside his mind since he regained his senses was making him badly anxious. But earlier, before Marita, even when Dr. Albert tried to justify Zenith’s efforts from last night, Kylian had a brief realization that without Zenith’s help, something terrible must’ve happened to him already inside the Alpha Academy.
But his bitterness towards Zenith didn’t subside an inch, rather making his heart and mind conflicted about his decisions. Now hearing that Zenith lied to her about his transition, his rage flared towards him when he whined at her, "But still Mom, I don’t like that guy at all. And maybe that’s why, I am still not ready to accept that I owe him a favor."
"Haha." Marita let out a soft chuckle after hearing him whine, but her voice sounded very soothing as she continued, "You’re still very new there, but I am sure you will get good people around you there. Until now, whatever you have achieved it was only possible with your strong determination, Kyle. You got accepted into such a prestigious Academy and now, you have even fulfilled your long-awaited wish. You don’t know how happy I have been since last night to hear that you became an Alpha, Kyle... I feel very relieved as well."
However, the more her words sounded gentler, the more it caused a sharp ache to stir inside his chest. Even though it was Zenith who had lied to her in the first place, to be honest, Kylian lacked the courage to profess the truth to her as well. But his initial plan was he wouldn’t mention anything about his transition to Marita.
But as expected, Zenith once again unexpectedly played a role in his life by feeding such a big lie to Marita, which made Kylian feel extremely guilty inside.
Clenching his jaws hard, Kylian swallowed his tears to make sure he wouldn’t start sobbing again while he asked her from an ardent curiosity, "Mom...if instead of becoming an Alpha...if I would’ve transitioned into an...Omega...would you have been disheartened with me?"
"Haha, that boy also asked me a similar question last night." She let out another soft chuckle while taking a big sigh on the other side of the phone. A brief silence persisted between them before she answered truthfully, "Kyle, you are my everything and you know that. Even if you had become an omega, it wouldn’t have changed anything in between us. But—"
When her words trailed off all of a sudden, Kylian impatiently urged, "But...what, Mom?"
"Well, I am telling you this because you have transitioned into a strong healthy Alpha already...but if you had become an Omega, I would’ve been deeply distressed from inside, Kyle. Perhaps...I would’ve never forgiven myself if you had inherited my trait, Kyle."
Her soft words stabbed deep inside his chest like a sharp dagger, making Kylian feel breathless for a second. A harrowing anxiety surged inside his heart, making him barely hold himself from sobbing hard, while he squeezed his words out, "Why...would you have felt...that, M-Mom?"
"Our world has been always unfair towards Omegas, who are considered as the lowlives of the society. And...I wouldn’t have been able to bear it if anyone would look down on my precious Kyle. I know I have been a weak and powerless mother, but you’re my pride and joy, and you will always be, Kyle. That’s the reason I wanted you to live a rightful life as an Alpha.
"Until now even when your transition was late, I have been living on edge with this fear inside me...what if you end up inheriting my trait, but that boy from last night eased my worries when he said you have become an Alpha. I will always be thankful for him to let me know this, Kyle."
Hearing her sincere confession, Kylian only stood still with tears streaming down his gaunt cheeks. He clenched the phone tight in his palms, with the immense pain of guilt surging inside him whenever he thought how he was deceiving her innocent mother with such a great lie.
But at that moment, a quick realization struck his mind, that Zenith had unknowingly helped him again by not professing his truth to her. On the outside, Marita would have pretended to be happy like always before him even after hearing that, but now Kylian realized he would’ve possibly given her the biggest grief of her life if Zenith hadn’t intervened.
His ocean eyes turned bleak from tears while he wiped them slowly. However, that sudden pause after her answer, made Marita a bit worried when she asked, "Kyle, why did you fall silent? Umm, did I make you feel bad, sweetie? But, you only asked me about such a hypothetical question—"
"No, it’s alright, Mom. I am happy, you told me the truth."
Enduring the churning pain of his heartbreak, Kylian tried to sound jovial over the call when he faked another smile, "That situation would never arise because I have finally become an Alpha. And, I will make sure to do my best inside the Academy, Mom. We...We will definitely lead a good life together once I graduate from here, I promise."
"Haha, of course, I know you will always make me proud. There’s a great future awaiting us..."
As she spoke, suddenly Marita’s voice turned a bit glum over the call. Keeping a brief pause, she even urged in a fidgety voice, "Well, Kyle, I also called now because I wanted to tell you something important. Umm, I...I will actually be unavailable for a few days from today because...I will be opting for a small surgery—"
"Surgery!?" Kylian almost shrieked out from shock, as her sudden revelation made him very baffled when he grunted, "What kind of surgery? What happened to you, Mom? A-Are you sick?"
