Re:write The Authors Transmigration-Chapter 248: Recorded events
Chapter 248: Recorded events
The first volume lies in the main trials known as the Pillar of Catastrophes. Each pillar establishes a particular event of the catastrophic events the players must pass. So far we only cleared the period of alchemy advancing in the brewery. The second was the introduction of labyrinths, large dungeons filled with danger and treasure waiting to be found. The third trial was set in the medieval ages, but what I see says otherwise, the tree itself resets so the memory I see is linked
[From what it looks like it seems you’re just inside the memory but any form of interaction is nigh impossible. Looks like you have it rough, at best we needn’t worry about the possibility of you being trapped. The downside is you need to clear this or else the true ending will be terminated and replaced with the sub-ending. Also known as the Demon King against the world, there’s nothing more to say than you’re fucked]
"Way to point out the evident issue... what’s better than reminding me of death to boost up my search? And just so we’re clear I was being sarcastic!!" He conjures a few copies in an attempt to ease his exploration but it only results in their immediate end
"The fuck?"
The moment they moved from their spot the copies were then incarcerated upon the manifestation of metallic bars. He was stunned and tried for the second time only for the result to be different as the difference in numbers was great. Rather than imprisonment a dozen copies were shredded beyond recognition when they resist
[System: You’ve triggered the defensive procedure of the World tree! Your presence is by far enough of a threat it is, the moment it detects a new intruder. It’ll act in accordance to protect the memories recorded by the Tree of Life]
[Pfttt! Hahahahaha! I think this is the system telling you to work your ass off instead of taking the easy path... who would’ve thought the day would come when your lazy antics have been denied. Move along or else you want to trigger your death sentence, off you go, I want to see your pain in 4k]
’I knew I shouldn’t have told him shit, now he’s more infuriating than ever. It was already a pain talking to him like he was from a different century, but now it’s worse. Learning some slang just made him worse since I can tell what the fuck is he spouting,’
He began his pilgrimage in this recorded memory once he set foot at the entrance of this technological city. Though he could see a few familiar technologies their design and materials were far from the modern day design. Like what his deity have told before he couldn’t speak to the natives of this memory which further raise its difficulty. At the structure of the town, he could tell it was more or less packed with one’s everyday needs of various equipment
"There’s something like shower here? This place is advanced, but most of the things here indicate to be a city. There’s nothing in here, well apart from the people, still... not a single security insight, this must be the residential area," He exits the shower after washing away his sweat from the raging war from the past couple of days
’From the looks of the mirror, it seems this place is similar to the shattered world, my body regress to my older self. But here I have full use of my abilities, and I can’t skip time by walking. It’s a memory but it doesn’t belong to me, the world tree has full control of this place... but why didn’t I get attacked? It’s pretty bizarre, guess there’s no need to worry about something I don’t know, but I should prepare for the worst,’
Once he’s finished patrolling the village he was about to leave but not before drawing a circle for him to teleport if needed. Everything was settled and after an hour he met the same wall he passed before, nothing was odd, but out of the blue his senses grew sharp. His body warned him of an unforeseen threat but all he could see was a wall with no unusual origins
"We’re under attack!!" He leaps from the ground with his course moving farther from the walls before it broke and arrives a familiar presence
[Is that... a demon?]
A demonic orge taller than the walls of the town appear in the dead of night without a warning of its arrival. He held his dagger high waiting for the perfect time to strike but he was stunned by what arise from the demon’s arrival. It fell on the ground with its back shredded by what appears to be a radiating cut made by its opposing divinity
"What the hell?" He walks closer to the walls and once his eye views the outside world he came to be in shock
"Arise, undead warriors, I beseech you to pledge your u dying loyalty to the seven princes of hell!!"
Beneath the walls was a scenery relatively familiar to what he experienced, the war rages on, but the world has yet to fall. The lands remain full of life and even this city was oddly advanced, this might have been the time before the war. A time when the inhabitants prioritize more in development rather than preparing for an upcoming war
[If you add the technologically advanced city, the lush untainted grass, and the lack of demonic aura this was the holy war. The divine war of good and evil that long had passed, and the very moment when the gods are forever restricted to visit the world of trials. A war to end all wars they say, I never thought I’d see such a war, knowing how much I dabble in research I might have ignored an invitation]
’Holy war, armageddon, judgment day, the end of the world, and many more... many religious beliefs always have that side, both good and evil alike. At some point, these factions will engage in war, that battle was said to be the end of everything. But that was vaguely the idea, to gods this war was nothing but a way for them to pass the time. Their servants the angels and demons were created before mortals, a race created to hate their opposition, so much they kill each other,’
[Oh shit!]
"Oh, shit? What do you mean by oh shit?"
[Are you dumb– I thought it was obvious. It seems the more time passes here the World Tree would easily detect your presence... look at that, just the sight of that demon alone is comparable to an elite. The difficulty must be lowered since it hasn’t fully understood your full power. That means the longer you stay the harder it’ll be– Morris!!?]
A demon materialize from his back and he was struck by such a powerful blow. "... can you stop being such a drama queen? Things like this aren’t even a hassle. I might have lost Mirage but that doesn’t mean it’s all over, I still have a few aces,"
The fists of the monster tugged forward and Morris swung his arm striking its head up to the sky above. Once the monster dematerialized hordes of cryptid creatures began appearing before him. His dark Felinaire staff shifts from a staff to a singular chain curling from his palms
"Basic chain arts, slither viper!"
When he imbued his mana and form a ki from the tip of his chains they move with such irregularity. His chi became a pathway for these weapons to spiral between his enemies with such ease and accuracy. He tugged but the monsters refused and so he tugged further with his strength pulling them to the air below himself. Before they had the chance to fall a spark emitted from his palm and their only path was the chains within his grasp
[Weapon ability: Chain reaction (Passive) - Elemental attributes can be added to the chains but their effects might regress if stretch at a certain degree]
"Mana breathing, Overlock!!!"
The excess mana was then added to the chains and the firepower of ignite and each chain fiercely explodes. Their bodies were scorched and as they fell to the ground he detects a presence far stronger than his foe. He looked back and saw the village unscathed by the attack even though there were many breaches inside the walls, and that’s when he saw the cause
[Is that a golem? But I can’t sense any pilot or anything commanding such a gigantic tool. Nowadays I haven’t seen a man-made golem that operates with such ease. Just so you know magically created golem and manmade are different. The man-made golems have no limit as long as they’re given the needed material for repairs or upgrades]
’Man-made golems? I didn’t sense anything like that before, did it come here? The system!? What the hell is it?’
([Rewrite system: Irregularity detected! The Golem is seen as an anomaly, we advise you to check! We advise you to check! We advise you to check–])
’Shut the hell up!!!’
He quickly closes the system and imbued his eye with chi increasing his vision for a closer look, and saw. "I think we should follow it,"
[Are you sure?]
He nodded and waited for the golem to move before he follows and yet he didn’t close their gap for fear of the World Tree
’Makino? I’ve heard that Golem has the branding name of the only clue I got. What the hell is going on? Why the hell would the Demon King be related to a golem, what’s more, this one is designed to fend off demons. I can feel its core, it’s brimming with heavenly aura, I’m sure of it,’
