Chapter 290: Inner Demons [3]

Okay, picture this at level one you start like any other killing goblins, and in your tens, you find a beast possessed by a God. In your twenties, you get a second round with that god, and just when things are about to end you’re confronted by a guild. I know what you’re thinking average JRPG plot points except this one took things to a hundred, welcome to my fucking life

"Devour angelic carcasses!!!" Christoper’s command prompted the core to have the stored angelic corpses devoured as sustenance

[Diabolus Ex-machina: The Ex-machina core has devoured the angelic carcasses providing you with materials for later use

Status: Alert! Upon the destruction of the corpses, the dormant heavenly aura within causes an imbalance in your constitution

Outcome: The corrupted sacred power trampled the foreign energy and your power and energy increased!]

"Heavenly judgment!" As Uriel uttered those words it branded Christoper and the crack space leading to heaven spawned numerous angels

[System: Due to the appearance of three or more virtues causes the angelic forces’ power to have doubled!

Status: Angelic beings from the third, second, and first triads had spawned and their powers grew more fierce

Outcome: Having been branded by the mark of <[Keeper of Virtues] angels get empowered and deal true damage] ƒreewebηoveℓ.com

[What now Morris? Sacred power is scarce. Although it’s a powerful energy a way to produce them is impossible]

’I know... that’s the reason why I took the angelic corpses. Regenerating will take forever and I need that energy pronto. But that only applies if I’m a god who gains strength from their followers or has cultivated and reached enlightenment over my chosen career. I do however know the reaction of two opposing energies and gaining power the more they consume the weaker side,’

(Equivalency? Even with that, can you be certain that’ll work with this? Your face against thousands)

[He’s right, you know! Even if you mull over those numbers... would you have some left for Uriel?]

"Why of course... and to start my preparation with buffs. Nature’s gift, Igniting flare, Drop of life, Wind’s grace, Shocking recovery, Obsidian scale,"

He felt his body growing all the more wild as his mechanical properties began to twist and turn. The loss of pain, as his bodily organs converted to metallic pieces did he ever feel alive but these sounds made it clear. Mechanical his body may be, the drive for his soul remains the same and so does this metallic vessel he currently tames

"Let’s get this over with!!!" His thrusters were discharged and Heaven’s collapse ran rampant propelling him to the aggressors within his path

[System: 7 unique buffs from the temporary skill; [Elemental] has been successfully applied!

Status: Due to acquiring more than 5 elemental buffs you are given the unique title; Are you the Avatar? - Elemental spells gained a 30% damage boost and 25% casting reduction

Nature’s gift: Grants the protection of Nature increasing Defense and Stamina by 20%

Anything that harms you shall receive retribution from the seven supreme spirits ruling over the elements. Elemental spells have their casting/cost rate lowered by 50% and every fourth spell will be instant cast and cost zero]

"Vacuum!!!"

His chest produces a fan thus improving his spell for all the angel’s flights were antagonized by the powerful suction. Christoper’s right palm however possesses the power of Earth and he improves it by combining his spells and body as one. Razor-sharp buzzsaws flew where the angels lay opposing the powerful suction of his chest

"Demon King!!!" One angel, in particular, braved the Vacuum’s monstrous suction, a mace in her hand she sought his end

Morris projected a shield in his left arm parrying her attack before reminding her of their place. "Oh dear! Have you forgotten already...? That we’re in the sky?"

As his shield absorbed the impact he used it to push dear Uriel back as her left hand borough about terror in their eyes. The clouds move on his command and only one cloud remains; it grows dark and fierce until a thunderous roar is heard. Having slaughtered the angels and having their bodies crisped in the corrupted lightning he absorbed their corpse

(Everything’s complete I await your orders)

Uriel was shocked for he managed to spawn a crack stemming from the underworld to himself. She felt the extremes of this dreadful, ghastly aura, and sorrowful souls spawned to encircle his body. Just a whiff of corrupted sacred power was enough for these sinful souls to spawn their very flesh and bones to reborn anew

"What better way for this finale than to fight you without being weakened so how about it let’s fight?"

Uriel discards the thought of overpowering him through numbers as her battle has proven her dozens of times. "All troops kill the Demons! I’ll handle the King myself... under no circumstances are you allowed to interfere!"

Her army and Christopers duke it out whilst these two powerhouses are finally alone to reveal their cards. Uriel possesses her honed techniques for thousands of battles she has partaken in her lifetime. Christoper uses his wits and bountiful skills to overthrow her enemy with his unpredictability

"Heavenly vigor exhaust!!!"

"Ex-machina core; Overclock!!!"

Their weapons are tightly held as their divinities surge with great density they drown in one’s insanity. Clashing their weapons for each had revealed their cards in countering the advances of their foe. Blood and oil drips from themselves, bones and parts shattering, breath and engines breaking

"Mirage; Infernal laceration!!!" Dozens of clones spawned both mimicking and replenishing his sacred power as they spawn

"Heavenly mace; Flattening repentance!!!" She negates his sea of blades allowing Christoper the opportunity to slip past in that split second of an opening

"Heaven’s Collapse!!!" He tightly grips her body and though she tries to escape by pummeling his rear it regenerates as soon as she’s finished

"Brace yourself!!!"

The two plummet to the ground where the effects of the rift between heaven and hell are no longer within range. Because of this, Christoper suffered tremendous damage from Uriel’s constant attack on his rear. Having lost most of the machine a portion of his body reverted to a demon turning him into a mechanical abomination

[Diabolus Ex-machina: Having sustained too much damage and no remains of materials a portion of your body regressed]

He rises from the debris alone searching for his foe. "Where... is she?"

"You Demon... shit!!!" He heard Uriel’s irritable scream from within his back having lost one of her wings and arm in their fall

"Hahahahahahaha!!!" She laughs quite historically as she catches a glimpse of his regression from a cold machine to a demon

"What’s so funny? Don’t tell me... is my weenie sticking out? Oh, it’s not, phew..." He sighed in relief

"Why am I laughing? It’s because even now I’m still capable of fighting. What about you?" Uriel grinned before her singular wing sore through the air and descent into his spot along with her mace

"Goodbye, Demon King- Uarghh!!!"

She was a breath away from ending his life but her descent was thwarted by a gun he just so had in his pocket. "Ain’t it a stupid idea for these things to still work on the mini-bosses?"

Uriel writhe in pain as her abdomen bleed from a single shot of his pistol. "What did you do- Arghhh!!!"

She screams as Christoper shoots five more rounds scattered throughout her body before replying. "What a freaking sore loser. Didn’t you know... switching to your pistol is better than casting your spells,"

[That was a close one]

(It sure is... it’s a good thing that my liege had predicted her nature. Seeing as she’s powerful there’s no way he’d bring a gun is what she thought)

’In the end, I won through gambling, phew at least it worked... is it done? Has the regression ended?’

(Yes my liege)

Hearing his golem’s confirmation Christoper lets go of his pistol and constructs his arm anew. "Hand cannon! Well, I guess this is goodbye... any last words? You know before I blast your brains to bits?"

Uriel was hesitant about what she’d say but ultimately ended up insulting him for the very last time. "Go di-"

"I tried to be polite but you insisted on dissing me oh well... seeing as the dome disappeared is it over? Yay-" He falls unconscious after his fight and his body can’t help but accept the filthy ground and sleep knowing his battle is yet to end
