Reincarnated Jester: Taming Players-Chapter 76: Spawn Point
Chapter 76: Spawn Point
He chose the Arc, summoned the suitable system panel, and gasped in surprise.
<Shifting Cloud Stage: 1/5
Progress: 46%
"14% increase?" It wasn’t the number Jung was waiting for.
He had killed over 4000 players, but based on his calculations, his progress shouldn’t have been this high.
Not that he would complain.
A couple more killing sprees, and he should be able to reach the second stage.
There was one more counter Jung had to see, but he knew its numbers beforehand.
<Quest V: Slaughter 10,000 players.
<Rewards: Information on how to better use lower-tier pills.
<Optional Bonus: For every 1000 players you kill, you get extra Tier VI pills.
Progress: 4969/10000
He had the same number of pills, so it wasn’t hard to guess.
Now, he had to reach the spawn point and wait for their return.
After calming Nero down and seeing his spectacular progress, Jung neared Lola and Snowshade.
"Everything is filmed and ready to post," the girl said eagerly.
"Good job!" Jung approved her dedication, gifting her the highest-tier caregiver pills he owned.
While Lola’s eyes were sparkling, he winked at Snowshade again and said, "Do you like my performance?"
The woman eyed him and Nero carefully, considering her words.
"I have a hard time believing your age. Tell me, who are you?" she asked.
Her confusion was understandable.
Jung didn’t talk, act, move, or fight like a 13-year-old.
It was past realms of so-called prodigies and geniuses one might see once in every century.
He was a talent that never existed in history books.
Snowshade could see it with her own eyes.
She studied Jung’s groundbreaking data and knew his acting capabilities defined every law humanity knew about the archetypes.
But if that wasn’t all, Jung was already Tier VI, completely jumping two tiers in the blink of an eye.
It seemed like he had already overcome the first bottleneck without any problems whatsoever.
Adding to that, he was way stronger and deadlier than any other Tier VI warrior.
His every capability seemed to be strengthened by some unknown factor, making him a terrifying foe on the battlefield.
"You know who I am," Jung answered, "but right now, I am Balatro, the silliest of them all."
Hearing his words and seeing a cheeky smile on his face, Snowshade decided to discuss his future with the principal and recommend further collaboration.
Jung could truly save the world, and he was too important not to take care of him.
"When are we going to leave?" she asked the boy, restless to stay in this shady place.
"It’s too soon for that," Jung said. "There is more to come. Even more entertainment, if you ask me."
Then he strolled with them. Nero followed behind and others on the side.
Of course, he was in good spirits. The same could be said about his grumpy cat, but Nero was too excited, and she had a hard time stopping herself from scratching Jung’s face.
Thanks to the system and private communication with her, she contained herself.
At least for now.
Intolerant of their bond, Jung said aloud. "Woman!"
[You don’t have to be so jealous. I will chat with you as well,] Vex whispered, making Jung slightly happy, even if he hid it.
"Who wants to talk with you? Shoo, go away!" As someone who constantly made fun of tsunderes, Jung’s actions were questionable at best.
[Stop it, dear. I know how much you enjoy conversing with me. Don’t be shy.] The system’s voice became even deeper.
"Stop that Mommy ASMR. I am not into that shit."
Jung spat annoyingly, shaking his hands as if he were shooing the flies.
[What a pity,] Vex said but still talked, this time in her normal voice.
[How are you?] she asked.
"What do you mean? What are you trying to accomplish?" Jung doubted her motives.
[Nothing. It’s just I don’t think anyone asked that before.]
Jung could almost read the concern in her words, but wobbling his head, he reprimanded.
[Baki and Lisa used to ask me all the time, and it’s your fault I am not with them.]
Silence descended for a second.
Lola and Snowshade talked to each other, wandering beside Jung.
Both of them had interests they wanted to uncover, and they quickly clicked.
As for Jung, his mind was empty, no thoughts drifting there, and he walked through halls, searching for the spawn point.
Then the voice echoed in his brain, belonging to the system who had questions for him.
[Do you regret it?]
"No. Of course not. It’s thanks to me coming here that I am closer to Elara than ever. I am stronger than ever, and my life is going smoothly as well."
He was confident in his choice.
If he was going to regret it, he wouldn’t have even left Inbox City.
Then glancing at sulky Nero, he smiled and added, saying to only himself.
’And she is going to be free from those chains.’
Seeing from the eyes and hearing his words, Vex giggled and said.
[Good to know. You are welcome.]
Jung added nothing to her statement. Walking casually, he increased his speed upon seeing the room he was looking for.
It was wooden stairs between the stone walls, almost hidden from the light.
Colourful particles were coming from it, encompassing the area and showcasing there was something magical on the second floor.
Not wasting time, Jung hurriedly reached the stairs, climbing three steps at a time.
The floor creaked under his steps, and the wood smelt fresh, creating a dreamy and natural atmosphere.
The climb wasn’t long, and he reached the destination, thrilled with the sight.
"Is this it?" Jung asked Lola.
The girl nodded and said, "They should come back here a hundred at a time."
"What is this?" Snowshade was no less curious. "Is this how immortals come back to life?"
Her inquiry met Jung’s agreement, and both of them studied the rooms with no progress.
Yet, the woman didn’t lose her awe and examined the room.
There was nothing on this floor except the floor, roof, and four walls.
Only dancing patterns were noteworthy, but deciphering them proved to be harder than Jung initially thought.
He hoped the system could assist him the way she helped with language translation.
However, she shattered his expectations and said.
[I can’t put my nose on this matter. It is made by that junk system but with the gods’ assistance.]
"That’s what I guessed," Jung said, and waited for players to come back.
Sure enough, the magical particles stirred in chaotic silence, implying that players would appear at any second.
"Time for round two. Let’s off these losers," Jung called Nero, smiling maniacally with her.
